I like the Sol-Ark's software flexibility in combination systems where there is DC, AC coupling and generator. So far, I've tried to match the choice of microinverter to the choice of panels. Optimally, I would like to come close to the max power of the microinverter across a two panel system, but that has been hard with today's high power panels. Enphase quality is great. Haven't tried the Sol-Ark micro yet.

Looking to install solar soon, but don't think I'm ready for the expense of battery backup yet. What do you think might be a good setup that may allow some flexibility to install a battery later, or perhaps even receive power from a BEV down the road? From what I see here, it seems like Enphase (I particularly like their Sunlight Backup option in the interim, until I'm ready to add a battery) or Sol-Ark might be good options. While Enphase might be nice it has two massive disadvantages:1) AC coupled battery is far less efficient than DC coupled solution with a hybrid inverter and 2) they're wickedly overpriced when compared with any standard 48V DC Battery solution that can be used with Sol-Ark. If you want batteries (in 2022 I would not build a system without batteries) Enphase is not going to be the best nor the cheapest system. Disclaimer: I have a 19.4kW 44 panel setup with Sol-Ark 15K and 38 kWh of Homegrid batteries and Tigo Optimizers. The same performance would have cost me 50% to achieve with Enphase.
Sol Ark is a great option as well. Hybrid inverters take up a very small marketshare, and are less commonly held amongst most residential installers, but if you can find a quality installer to install that system, that is a great option.
I've got 2 Sunny biy inverters installed roughly 2009. Install company no longer exists. It's a free and clear system. 1 inverter is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced. Should I replace both inverters atvthe same time? And what inverters should I replace them with?
I have a quote from LA Solar and they are offering Hoy Miles inverters and a LA Solar brand 450 watt solar panel. I suspect they are simply rebranding someone else's equipment. Can you tell me anything more about their equipment and where it would rank in your analysis?
The HoyMiles inverter isn’t a commonly sold micro inverter, which is interesting that you got quotes for that. They likely white labeled the panel, and are calling it theirs as well. I am planning to eventually have a hybrid system that would have panels, batteries,wind generator, with generator to charge batteries if needed. Grid tied also. From what I have studied, the Sol-arc sounds like best option; is that correct? I won't have shading, but was thinking a dual panel setup, some on roof, some stand alone. Are optimizers beneficial?
Sol Ark is a great option. Do you plan on doing this system DIY? Optimizers are beneficial, if you have any possible shading, in the places where you are looking to have panels. They will also provide panel level monitoring, if that is something you would like to see.
Hey man, give me a call. I have another more cost-effective and reliable option than SolarEdge. A 4-in-1 2kW microinverter that makes the IQ8H look like a cute puppy, not the big dog of microinverters.
The best 4-1 microinverter on earth right now is sold by Aptos. 4-1s can have serious roof layput challenges howver so id recommend a 2-1. There are many in the market and they all work the same. None of those options howver have the absolute best customer support and guaranteed company viability that Enphase does. We have now crested 57000 systems and I have tried every single option that anyone with half a brain should try. Also worth noting I have seen the specs on the incoming Sol Ark micros and they look impressive.

The Sol Ark is a string inverter, so there would be no utility to pair with Enphase or SolarEdge which are also inverters. In addition to this system, you might want Tigo optimizers, to provide panel level optimization.
Sol ark can work with tigo optimizers which i definitely do not recommend or micro inverters. I cant answer your question as I dont know your application. Generally lots of other pieces. Racking, wiring, a lot of head space in your main panel, conduit and several other things depending on your situation
