I’ve used the analogy to my friends that when you throw a ball you keep your eyes on the target, you don’t look at your hand as you let go of the ball. Great vid 👍🏻
I REALLY wanted to put this in the video, but I left it out for simplicity’s sake!! It’s something I thought about as well! The same is also true when hitting the ball in Baseball. The first thing you learn is “keep your eye on the ball”.
This is the exact opposite of firing a gun in real life.
You fully focus on the front sight.
With red dots & other optics becoming popular, it's changing training methods a bit.

Your 1st step I agree 100% with I tried to aim with the rational I constantly missed but when I would get into the heat of the moment and only be looking at where I was trying to shoot I usually get the head shot

Considering the amount of kills I've pulled while my weapon model was still loading in, have to say my target. Playing on controller helps lol

Bruh I remember in d1 my auto rifle or sniper would take long as shit to load but I could still hit head shots cause I just guessed where the reticle was compared to the person's head

i tried focusing on the target rather than the crosshairs. There may be some merit to this rule when using a hand cannon and possibly a shotgun. For the most part, all other primary and secondary weapons have a sight (scope of some kind), which renders target focusing null and void.

I can agree with the crosshairs target focus thing
But my personal opinion is that it is also dependent on weapons, how well you know them, and other factors like recoil
This may not affect other people but I definitely feel it
I love thorn but I really struggle to use it due to its sights
Something that helps me with this is looking at the crosshair instead, this could be because of its horrible ironsight or because I’m not as adjusted to it
Whereas with something like ace I have used it a lot and I don’t have to even look at the crosshairs to hit headshots at range

The car analogy is actually perfect for crosshair/target debate - when you drive, you're supposed to keep your head up and look for one of the further points as your area of focus, not on the strip of road right in front of you. For exactly the same reasons- reaction and awareness
still relevant 7 months later keep it up shadow (oh and btw trying middle tree nightstalker for the first time tonight because of you lets hope it goes well hahaha)
I can only see out of half my right eye (perfectly splint down the middle and to the left), I'm completely blind in my left. This helps a lot, thank you!

I've slowly realized all this on my own as well. It's taking time to get used to. I just wanna be good at sniping lol it's hard for me
Remember that eyes lead first. Got that from trex arms! Got me better at shooting but also videogames.
My biggest issue with shooters is that Im always shooting off their left, my right instead of hitting them.
If I can ever fix that, my KD would be way better.
Same bro, i also overshoot to the right if my target is on the right side of my screen like im always shooting close to their left ear. for me it happened when i practiced flick shooting and i was like "maybe i developed a bad habbit" after that i abandoned flick shooting and tried to make sure im on target before pulling the trigger. I continued to do that and am doin fine now (also fixed my bad "positioning" cause am not relying on flicks anymore)
Sooo the moment I watch this I remembered alot of stuff I forgot and Jesus I went 12 and 0, and for the past games remained with a 3plus kda

For me, I am playing Hunter and I used Foetracer to improve my aim.
Hi I have a igneous hamer nur I only can do 80 DMG per Headshot do I need another one with rampage or is my god enough I have a 3/5 godroll
I know I'm a bit late but one thing I realized is how important sound is for knowing who is near you and what they are doing. You can usually hear a dawnblade go off and check the bottom left to see if it's friendly. You can also hear every class type jump and, in combination of radar, kind of guess what position they are going for (are they flanking around a wall by dawnblade grenade eating?). You can usually hear a stasis shuriken and Jotun before it hits as well. You can hear a shotgun around a corner and know to keep distance or maintain higher elevation. Sound is nice. This is probably obvious though but just in case someone wasn't aware.

I totally agree with your comment. I even made a whole video about sound cues because I feel like they're super underrated by most people.

Random tip: if you move your screen bounds in as far as you can, it'll move everything in closer so your eyes don't have to move as much when looking between numerous things
This can cause problems when in closed areas and can't see the walls of the room

Just realising that the radar is there and its broken is probably the single most crucial breaking point in learning how to play crucible(for some reason)
At least i didnt notice a single breakthrough of similar scale after that point in 1k is crucible hours
Do you have any tips on centering, I find that sometimes mine is terrible and other times I just flick and shoot on point, not sure how to improve my consistency??

the rader is completely useless on my tripel monitor set up big screen it sude be moved to the middle of the screen or give the player the option to move it where its useful

Is it just me or does evey video I see about improving this seem like the one telling us this seems to survive more then 1 second and the other Guardian's aren't always on him already before he turns a Coren then gets smoked with seemingly 1 shot?
Not sure how I can get rect every match regardless of resilience being 100% or recovery.
But nonetheless thank you for this video it at least helps decode what's going on I may not love more then 2-3 seconds but I can at least see what's shopping before I'm shot through a wall or turn the corner as a shotgun goes off and I catch every pellet perfectly.

I think this is weird but i have more than 1,700 hours in destiny and i cant snipe and aim properly. If kill someone with snipe in head it will be a flick or kill based on reaction if this guy will run in my crosshair. I have more than 2,000 kills on snipes but i can miss my shot on afk guy and i dont really know how to deal with it.
What I do is focus on my target and center them on my screen. If you keep someone in the center of your screen you're most likely going to land your shots

I won't be making a video on this quest especially since it has been out for a while now, but I can try to help you here. You'll need the Forging your own Path quest from Banshee-44 at the Tower. The quest may already be in your quest tab, so be sure to check there as well. Complete the objective, which is pretty straightforward, and you'll have yourself an S-tier sniper! Hope that helps :)

Its a hunter perk when you crouch kill someone you get a shit load of buffs and yes wallhacks PLUS invisibility for a bit after every kill made while crouching,

not me, but a fellow D2 gamer says he turns all the HUD stuff offf and has a lcd timer clock just below his screen, and he knows the cooldown times for his abilities/supers. He finds the normal D2 screen too cluttered. 1.5 kd so he's no god player, but I have watched him rack up 50 kills, so it works for him.

Sometimes ya just gotta accept ya limitations as well. I've played only for a few months but I'm a rock solid 0.7kd player. That means I ain't good. Now to some this may be a bad thing, and even discourage them from PVP. But I've found the stats don't lie, that's the player I am. The thing is, someone has to be that player, it's a hard truth but some of us are just always gonna be bottom half of the leaderboard. That hasn't stopped me resetting my crucible rank 4 times already this season, I just accept it takes me longer than the good players and that's ok. My lesson? Just accept your level and focus on your target reward. The L's mean nothing.
I mean I suppose it's good to be realistic, but I still believe everyone can improve over time. I was once a 0.7kd player along with every other player and content creator these days. Improvement (especially statistical) takes time but I believe it can happen :)
