Hey shadow. I am a controller player on console. I have 1.01 kd rn. Because of you. But one thing is weird. I will dodge with my hunter, and somehow I will always be headshot through the dodge. It's weird. Any idea on how I can get better at dodging.

I have a legit 0.6kd with over 5k hours in D2. So I subbed, liked and I will go watch EVERYTHING you have made to help in PvP as I truly appreciate how well you have articulated everything. I aim to get (back) to a 1.5kd as that was what I was pre stasis, so let's see how I go although I understand there is only so much you can help with in a video, my bad decision making is hard to teach out of someone when they are bad enough to fall to 0.6kd... Love the video series bro, your information on each topic makes great sense. There’s a lot of things to cover and it’s gotta be hard to condense it down to a 12min video but you hit key points. Since watching I’ve watched my kd go up steadily and my awareness which is most important to me jump up as well. Keep it up!

I’ve always decided to not complain about a death unless I was omega tilted, hopefully part 3 is about how to keep your head down no matter the amount of deaths.
I'm subscribed to hundreds of various UA-cam channels. This channel is the only one with the bell on. Kept thinking it was the other players skills why I would end up with 1 kill to my 6 deaths. I hadn't practiced enough with my loadout. And I kept playing PvP as aggressively as I play PvE... which was getting me killed. LIGHTBULB! Thanks for the videos.

Holy crap this is exactly what I’ve been needing. This is something I struggle with constantly. I have been told I’m above average and usually top frag but my average kd is 1.5 and the reason is I am aggressive but don’t check corners or use the techniques from this vid. Thank you so much and will definitely coming back to this while playing to practice these techniques.
Nothing wrong with that. High kd doesn't always equal better players. When i play to have fun i DESTROY my kd trying weird shit, having fun and getting crazy clips etc. Who cares lol when I need to play for real I play for real and the ppl that see my low kd get cocky then I slap them. Kd is way more of a playstyle indicator, how many times you see a 2.45 just sitting in back with a scout, just cuz you can aim at shit 50 meters away and run the second you see someone ping radar to keep the kd up doesn't mean they are good. That person ain't coming out of a 3v1 in trials lol play the way you want and anyone that says shit about kd(to shit talk) is a smooth brain, you know how good you are👍
@@timelostadept true, I have a playstyle that makes it seem like I'm bad...in truth that same playstyle quickly becomes a problem if I need it to (I main as a hunter but not with a sniper, so I'm not an easy target to hit when firing from the hip)

I love these videos! Could you make one on how to snipe aggressively, or in a shotgun meta like we're in now? I tried to follow the tips in the other sniping video, but i keep getting shotgunned
I might make something alone those lines in the future! Truth be told though, snipers aren't weapons for the shotgun range and regardless of how good you are, shotguns will always dominate up close
@@ShadowDestiny Cool I'll watch for that! Im not saying to be in shotgun range per say, more just pushing and being aggressive with the snipe, like just sliding around and not sitting in the back.

These videos have been great so far. Good job, keep it up homie. Honest question for you. You say sound cues are super important, is it weird that I play my best destiny pvp when the sound is off? I play smarter not reacting to the cues. I've done it enough to notice the real difference. Just curious if I'm insane or there's something to that.
Thanks for the kind words, appreciate it. As for your question, I guess it's possible that the lack of audio is allowing you to focus more on the visuals. Overall though I'd guess you'd be at your best if you were able to take in as much information as possible from both visuals and audio simultaneously
I stopped playing D2 almost 2 years ago because I felt constantly stressed, I used to play just to aggressive to the point that I couldn’t figure out why I was loosing almost all of my engagements and almost a week ago I came back to destiny, I watched this video and then the 10 stages of hunter and from maining a warlock I decided to try out hunter and with your tips I went back to my old days of having fun and enjoying pvp while improving my KD and I just got my first ran out of medals after almost 2 and a half years maybe and just felt so good because I didn’t stressed or overcommitted to gunfights it just felt right and so satisfying!

I'm gonna comment before I watch the rest of the vid..... Trials was on Exodus Blue, and I FN HATE!!!! that map... BBUUTTTT! I went flawless this past weekend because of the tips you put out and the angle of attack, I remembered I'm good at pvp and enjoy pissing people off, also weapon colabs that work really well together help too.... Let's just say I had friends(they arnt anymore) tell me how bad I was blah blah blah.... Atleast 1 flawless a week, I'm not complaining 🤙

Yo Shadow, id loved to see this video using basic weapons/gear. I cant help but think all the trials weapons (that a lot of players havent gotten yet) are making a huge impact on this gameplay. I love the vids and this is in no way a dig at your skill level, youre clearly a gank machine but i do think it would be a lot more applicable to more players

I have found in aggressive playstyles that getting one to two kills is about the max and thats the best time to run away and then come back and get a couple more kills after youve healed up or youve got teammates backing you up
Dang I already thought I was good at PvP bc I got we rans and 7ths alot but this helped me out from watching this I realized how reckless I was with my life when I was in gunfights. Now I play games without dying once bc of this.

Question in regards to loadout optimizing. While running an smg and a shotgun will make you great at short ranged combat, wouldn't it be better to have two different range zone weapons for different scenarios? Like, if you ran an aggressive HC with a shotgun, you'd have a long range option, as well as something to handle an enemy rushing you.

@@ShadowDestiny LOl now that I seer it I actually remember that TWAB and I also remmeber saying to myself I hope the do these for every map. It is possible that even that heatmap is outdated nowadays, but I doubt it best angles and lanes usually remain best regardless of meta in a way. IMO

Hey Shadow! Been really enjoying the videos lately. Could you possibly make a video talking about armor and mods for PVP on console? I started playing Destiny 2 about a month ago and I’m trying to improve my PVP game so I can play Trials. I’ve played FPS games since COD4 so I’m not new to shooters. I’m also really good at games with advanced movement like Fortnite and Apex but I am struggling to improve.
Hey, thanks for the comment. I recently made a controller guide that briefly mentions that, but I don’t think there’s much more to say on the topic. Run powerful friends / radiant light for the stats, and then put on unflinching, targeting, and scav mods. With the exception of traction, mods are basically the same between pc and console

No, OBS is what every streamer and content creator uses and it's certainly not bannable (just use screen capture). You can also use Shadowplay (which I also use), or any of the default console capture things. Or a capture card.
How do you get the invis truesight with kills?
I say this all the time, you need self discipline and NEVER let the TILT take over you, it is your biggest enemy (focus on gradual improvements, in small steps, one technique at a time, just like you would change a habit, as the saying goes "slowly but surely"). If you don't, you fall into an never ending loop. Which is really bad for your health (you can find more about this by reading how stress speed's-up the aging process by shortening the length of each DNA strand and causes an increase in cortisol stress hormone production).Great video, thank you very much sensei!

I can confirm that watching yourself play is the best way to learn. I'm a consol player that plays on Xbox, and I record clips that I do very well in, most of the time I will die at the end of my clips which helps me learn what happened and where I should have backed off. And it's especially helpful cause I play very aggressively mabye to aggressively cause I run rat King. But that's the play style I like playing, but I have gotten countless we runs, ghost in the nights ect. So a big one is run what you like and learn your strengths and weaknesses with that load out .
Shadow, one thing I dont see a lot of people talking about and its a thing that I would like to discuss with other people and even you if you see this video.
Most of the time when im playing 3v3 I face oponents where they have super high accuracy % and its near impossible to beat them, I have watched both of your videos and got my KD up to 1.7 but theres a point where im just facing sweats and really sus people, how can I improve to beat those?
Yes. Am the one doing all these mistakes lol idk why but i always start at the bottom in every game like valorant or overwatch and get to higher than average lvl after a while. Skill really doesn't transfer to different games

The KD stat is your kills divided by your deaths. There is no best gamemode to play to increase it. Any 6v6 mode will probably be better than any 3v3 mode though
I’m a pro PvP player at destiny but struggle to explain to a friend how to play so I gonna send them this video but they don’t really understand how to play on controller its there first ever fps in there life and they don’t think they will improve because they don’t understand the system fully on movement, how to grip the controller etc…will you maybe do a video on it in future?

May I ask you an off-topic question about sniping? I am struggling to achieve the medal (do not know the english name of it) - where you need to make two distant headshots with a sniper rifle without reloading and switching to another gun. But, nowhere there is written which distance it should be. I hate sniping but I successfully made those damned headshots and did not received the medal, so probably the distance was not long enough.
I know only two places among all the crucible maps where there is e clear long distance and you have only 2 rounds so you cannot miss and there should be two targets and you cannot miss. It looks ridiculous, but a lot of people around wear this damned deadeye badge.
7:50 I use a shotgun and smg but the smg range is very high, so I do not really know where it is best to use them

You didn't mention about `leaving the matchmaking if they die twice in a row`. I've been playing quickplay for a month now and I've seen so many 3+ kda players leave after they die twice without getting kills.

Trying to record an average game for me is really hard, I either steam roll the other players, which happens most of the time with my regular loadouts, or I get steamrolled when using something off meta.

First thing I noticed is your ads look speed and turn speed are SUPER slow in the first clip, but when you switch to fusion it looks a bit faster. Are you switching speed based on the weapon being used?
He didn’t have a fusion in that clip.
Something I remember someone told me is there are 3 types of plays you can make, they are… worst, good, and best. Obviously you WANT to make the best play but sometimes making the good play is better if you execute it faster. You never want to make the worst play but it’s bound to happen. If you start making your decisions for situations faster you will often make the good play, and that good play can get you good kills or catch the other team off guard.
Regarding tip 4, I'll never understand why Bungie discarded the idea of theater mode. It was in Halo 3 and was one of the most powerful tools I used to just understand the approach of other players that performed well.
I would LOVE a theater mode but unfortunately I don't think we'll ever get one :/

What are your video/monitor settings? Since beyond light dropped my greatest difficulty is seeing opponents in lighted areas....
I've been struggling with it too. As far as I can tell the lighting changes are still gonna make certain areas of the map blinding regardless of your settings

So far I'd say my main issues on PvP (1.05 K/D) are:
- Terrible accuracy. I'm better with a controller than with M&K, but still I got terrible accuracy (and sadly controller broke, so...)
- I'm too impatient, I like rushing in at times when I feel the action is "too slow". Basically forget about cover and angles when I do lol
- My reaction time is terribly unreliable. At times I can turn a corner and shotgun someone in the face without thinking it, or shotgun someone that appears out of nowhere, but that's rare. More often I take too long to react to shots fired or enemies popping out of nowhere.
Trying to improve my game, test new weapons and such, but eh
shadow my issue is loadout, i dont know what to use and when i do decide on a loadout. i get beat my something else and think i should switch. i know getting better means using the same weapons to learn recoil and shot rhythm but its hard to pick from everything. how do i choose with so many fairly decent options out there
I'd say choose one that you personally like, and then work on it to improve. Try out like 5-10 different ones and settle with the one you find the most success/enjoyment with. You can use sites like destinytracker to find out what is at the top of the meta and that's usually a good starting point
What sniper are you using at 4:45
