I thought the learning stone was just going to be a rock that students hit their heads on to get knowledge.
If it was Oni it probably would have been.
Or a rectangular slab of slate that instructors carefully apply calcium carbonate to while the students observe.
They've lost ground to whiteboards of late; but 'learning stones' aren't really a fantasy element.
I just started the video... and I hope someone does that to increase their INT

I'm sorry, but this just looks like a very old game.....
It's missing all the modern features such as early access, micro transactions, preorder dlc, bad optimisation, loot boxes, regurgitated IP, hand holding and unfinished parts.

Klei has a certain quality to their games that makes every one of their games fun in some way. Theyre just fantastic developers period. The art is quite remarkable too. This game, Rotwood and Dread Pilots are high on my wishlist.
Klei does not make this game tho, but publish it. It's Sparkypants who made this game.
Anything Klei touches is incredibly special. This isn't my kind of game, normally, but I'm gonna get my hands on this. SplatterCat sells another game!
the Art, Graphics and general design are absolutely gorgeous.
Have had this on my wishlist, I enjoyed Spellcaster University and have been hoping for similar games. Hope we get a release date soon.
This is really impressive, foundations of the game look sturdy and already plenty of cool and funny details. Also yeah the demo is still up (at the time of this video dropping at least) gonna have a sweet time trying it out
Love that the design of the shrine that sends you on your quest looks just like the paper "fortune teller" we used to make as kids!

Oh wow, such high production value and interesting concept. First game Splattercat has covered in ages that actually interests me.
I love the clean and detailed animations! I like the building aspect it looks way better and more complex than I anticipated! Definitely something I will keep my eye on!
It almost looks like spellcaster academy meets For the King. Not sure how I feel about the autobattler part, I feel like if you could train up students and then engage in manual combat a la For the King that would be a super addicting combo. Surprised no one has made a game like that yet, combining sim management and traditional rpg combat.
Darkest Dungeon or Dead Age 2. Neither are high-fantasy though.

Also 'vivified' means 'brought to life' or 'animated'. not 'revived' which would be 'revivified'.
Love that Sparkypants tackled a completely different genre with this title (compared with Dropzone). It's very suited to their expertise (I worked with ~6 of the people there way back on Rise of Nations, and there's a lot of RTS "genetics" in Rimworld-like sims).

The panel above the fireplace in the opening scene looks a lot like wizards fighting a big old cthulhu - grim darkness for tte algorithm

That voice you used at ~25 minutes would be solid for voice acting.
You scared me when you mentioned Spellcaster U. That game was such a disappointment! (I know, small developer, no funding ... but still.) But THIS is the kind of game I'm looking for in a wizard school sim. Thank you for the find!

@@Sassy_Witch I found SU to be tedious and unengaging. The card aspect got old fast. There are plenty of negative reviews on Steam if you want to fully explore why some people dislike it. More power to those who love it, but I cannot count myself among you.

Also - this game looks great BUT it definitely needs some polish. Rooms need more details and colors to be more attractive. Some lights, paintings, pots or fireplace hanging brooms etc. They seem empty, dead and boring. You should enjoy building a certain room. They also need to add some background to the tech-tree. It’s empty and unnecessary spacy. I am really hoping for some upgrades here because I’d gladly play it after fixes

You get it mixed up because there is a game series called Might and Magic and the normal expression is Mind over Matter. Nice video, Splat. Looking forward to this title.
