Hey coach do you think you should be too concerned about how high your set point is on different shots when you’re a bit younger and don’t necessarily have the strength yet? Love the videos btw great help 🙌🏽
Hey Coach, I'm looking to develop my upper body strength so I can shoot with better form. Is there anything I should avoid with regards to weight training that might ruin my jump shot? Any advice on lifting weights in general?
@@R2bball I don't have one, unfortunately. I come from a pretty small school where we sadly don't have people like that to help us out. I'm still looking to get better though in whatever way I can
ryan can you talk about the shooting palm at the set point? when i watch slow motion shooting by nba players, shooters tend to have their palm facing the left instead of the front, is that what we are supposed to do? i also have trouble snapping my wrist, i always feel like the ball slip out of my hand and so i cant snap it and end up way short, i found that when i slow the release down, i tend to have more control...also i have trouble trying to release the ball without the ball arriving the set point, also end up slipping the ball out and an air ball.
i’m struggling with upper body strength i cants hot past the free throw line area i lack upper body strength as i can’t do a push-up either is there anything that can help me ? my form isn’t to bad as i only shot with one hand now and use the other as a guide hand i use to shoot with two hands but luckily i learned how to shoot with one hand
My set point is high and above my head. It's like Larry Bird's except even higher. I find myself hitting more shots with this form than with yours. Should I change it?
Sup coach, can you explain to me how your grasp of the ball should be? For example shooting out of a triple threat, how do I get that comfortable firm grasp to shoot out of a jab or ball fake?
Hi coach, I wouldnt say I shoot a lot of shots but my elbow is a bit painful after working out. Is this natural? The feeling is like all the force being had exerted onto the elbow after you released the ball and hold your follow through.
I need help coach I'm rly used to the thumbflick in my jumper but it always makes me miss but now that I've removed it I can't generate power in my shoot at all
so in short the further you are in the basket the lower the set point you need to form? the closer you are in the basket the higher the set point you need to form?
coach even tho its an old vid happy if u can answer i have a really high set point in my 3 point shot idk i just worked and changed my jumper its really good for me my hands are long and it feels easier should i change it ? and if yes how can i work on it
It’s all about comfort higher makes it harder to be blocked mid range which is a more realistic shot unless your a really consistent 3 point shooter is when you want to lower your set point because it makes it easier to shoot from deep
I have great form everyone has said but I was inconsistent coaches told me to lower my set point even though it’s been proven by science that a higher set point or angle has a better chance of going in. I scored 30 in a game recently because I followed what I was comfortable with
It’s something natural lol, the lower ur set point is, the more power you generate when shooting which is why you naturally have a lower set point the further you go
I was just thinking about my set point 😭
Crazy 😝
I was old that having a high set point makes you more accurate a low release will make you shoot farther
@Tony Ngo you mean low setpoint
I dropped 40 in my game because of u
Proud of you✊🏽
@@R2bball Thank you
JOSEPH THOMAS what type of shots did you take?
@@amin-hb3sr Off the dribble threes, off dribble mid ranges, layups, fadeaways, and catch and shoot

@@R2bball hey coach do you have any drills for us to find our setpoint ? My shot feels weird and i want to perfect it but idk how
And one more thing idk when to split my off hand while shooting?
Can U explain arch in Ur shot, what is to much and how much is to less and how to get arch
Joystick Kong end with your elbow at your eyebrow on your release
Why do the ball on my shooting hand slips?
Bryle no clue

Ask your strength and conditioning coach. They will better direct you

High set point is best for a player with a mid range game low set point is the best for players who just shoot 3’s and floaters

MALBeastmode well i lack upper body strength to even complete a push up and push myself back up you wouldn’t understand
Yo

I try to shoot like you I'm working on my foot placement right👌
Is there any problem with having the ball above the head? And if so why is it a problem

Coach should I put the ball in front of my eyes or at the side of my eyes or back?
Guess you finally got that new net coach lmao
Noti gang
Does the set point changes naturally or do i have to train shooting with 2 different set point?
Natural
is it ok for my hand to be in front of my face, or does it have to be on the side?
Josh Kim if your hand is in front of your face the either your elbow is out or your shoulder dips inwards
Cuz when I shoot my middle finger is in line with my right eye. Is tht ok. And yeah my shoulders dip inwards. Is that hindering me?
Is it bad that I have the same set point at my eye brow for every shot even fades
For a post fade it will probably be a little higher than your NBA three
Hi coach i have one question? So it’s better to shoot high than low? Is it right?

Can you shoot 80 3s and upload it
I’ve done it, hit like 83/100 I can’t remember exactly
