First time ordering from you and first time for these strawberries. I have so many that germinated that I hope I can find enough spots to tuck them into my gardens and around my yard. So very excited for strawberries!

Thank you. I live in Norway and harvested alpine strawberry seeds from the garden to bring up indoors during winter to give them a head start. They’re still seedlings but getting bigger every day!

Last spring I sowed the mignonette indoors and the germination rate was amazing- I had more seedlings than I expected , I made a special bed for them in the garden in a partially shady spot. They are so easy , they bore fruit during the summer and made beautiful mounds. I look forward to seeing them again next summer.I'm in zone 6b New Jersey. I LOVE RENEE'S SEEDS!

Could you let me know how you sowed them. Just in a pot and kept them in room temperature? or did you put it in fridge or freezer? That's what I heard they need.

@@micheller9342 No refrigeration.I sowed them in the same way the video shows- any container I could find then later transplanted into hanging baskets( where they stayed all summer) then in the ground at the end of the summer. They do take a long time to germinate but I kept track of the days .I used fluorescent shop lights( cheap Walmart) - I keep my house around 60 degrees during the winter.

Should we pick the white flowers to help the plant conserve energy for the fruit? Thanks for the video, my first time growing strawberries this spring!

Thank you for sharing! I’m from Chicago & already calculating when I can start the seeds! I’ll definitely be ordering from you soon!

I’m from chicago too! have you decided when to plant strawberries?

@@VeronicaMartinezSoberano Hi!!! It took me a few years to get strawberries to take. And now recently they are finally coming up the last couple of years on their own but I’d like to try another variety. I don’t see them coming up yet but they usually arrive early so I would suggest starting with a small container now and leaving it infront of your window. After Memorial Day you can put the plant in the ground. Since we’ve been getting more rain the past few years, I have been waiting one more week… around June 6th so the seedlings don’t drown. Good luck!!

Thank you for the video! I am currently growing these and kept wondering what I was doing wrong and why my berries were so small! 🤣🤣 The photo on my seed packet is very misleading.

i thought i wasnt fertilizing my plants or they didnt like the weather here. Turns out theyre probably alpine or some similar variety, very slim compared to store strawberry but rich in flavor like you described. Almost like that fake strawberry flavor candy but sweeter

Did you have to freeze these seeds beforehand?

Beautiful. Will check these out for sure. Did you thin the seedling when you up potted?

What else do you suggest to grow that produces all summer & stays in a smaller area like these strawberries?

I bought these seeds and have a question. On the packet it says harvert is Spring/summer/fall but it also states to sow indoors in spring and germination takes 14-28 days. So I'm confused. When should I sow indoors to have fruit in spring that same year? I'm in zone 5. How many days from seed to fruit?

  • @enigmaticreverieproduction5169

How many can you have in 1 3 inch cell? Should I thin them to 1 plant?

saw you on Nora's and wanted to connect. We are primarily a fishing channel but we have gardens and chickens and try to be as self-reliant as we can be.

I’m starting my alpine strawberries indoors in Texas under grow lights. Does anyone know if it would be ok to plant the germinated seeds directly from the tray (at 2-3 inches tall) directly into in ground garden?

Take them outside for a couple hours each day and set them on the ground where they will be planted. After about a week they should be weathered and hardened off.

I'm new to gardening. Do I have to start them from seed if I just want to grow them in pots on my deck?
Also, would they look nice enough in a front yard or would it look too messy?

    • @cameoellis1363

They would be beautiful anywhere. The Alpine ones don't spread so they should be good on your front porch.
