I am wondering if someone with extra land can let him live on their property on at least 1 to 3 acres and help him out for at least 3 to 10 years free and help him with his legal battle to get his home back and let him grow a garden and have pets and build a work shop or shed and just be there to provide a lovely calm safe clean happy kind Christianly home. This man needs love and caring and compassion and HELP immediately as this is so wrong to see our elders in suffer like this all alone. Churches need to step up and do something and start helping our homeless senior citizens. This is heartbreaking and we dont need to pity him we need to all pitch in and figure out how we can all donate and save him and help him survive this harsh weather. These men are such sweet gems and their humility warmth intellect and character speaks volumes. We can all learn a lot from our elders and it is time to get creative and help our fellow man. God bless these fine amazing gentlemen!

I feel sick at heart when I hear about people like Gene losing their homes. I'm so happy he got out there and joined a caravan and went to the campfire. You'll always have a home with the Nomads and now you're one of them Gene. Welcome Home my friend!

It wasn't his home, it was still the banks home. And that's the problem. He said he went from 3 checks to one, and when something like that happens, that's it, your done. But you are right, it SHOULDN'T happen at 82 years of age.

General Zod no life is ever just easy, just the way it is. But its better to bring your joy to circumstance Than to let circumstance dictate your joy or youre wide open for defeat. In his 80s my dad was battling cancer, stressed over a reverse mortgage an the fear his wife would wind up losin the house, stressed over dr bills UNTIL he was reminded of the fact that stress an sorrow would only make matters worse. He stopped askin "if these are the golden years an lifes a bowl of cherries, why am i in the pits?" he recalimed his life by simply accepting what he couldnt change. He raised me with "you cant always get what you want. Be glad you got what you need" so it was me that delivered the reminder to him on a night he was tempted to just keep cryin an lettin his circumtance steal his joy. Dr diagnosed "3 mos to a year", my dad managed to ride that wave well for 3 more YEARS. It was one of the hardest things i ever did the night i reminded him "nobody else can do it for you" but he deserved it since that advice he gave me, although at times was a tough pill to swallow, had served me well. God really does provide us the ability to be other than bitter an sad, this world doesnt need more houses , it needs more love an sometimes it can seem very hard to share that but its worth it to care not only about others but also ourself. Im happy for this 82 yr old in the vid. He is enjoying sunrises.

Hi gene. Your truck looks super great. You got a talent. A gift of hands. Beautiful job on the woodwork. So sorry about whhat you went through. Loosing the house and 2 other checks. But dont ever give up. Pray.pray.pray. jesus is always with you and all of us. He is always on time. He will certainly make a way for you. You will gain strength from all thata you have to deal with. All of us to. You certainky did the right thing joining a caravan. Meeting new people. Making friends. Sharing phone numbers. Also e.mail addresses shared to. It might take some getting use to. But the nomad life is super wonderful. Experiencing the freedom is the 1st. Thing to recognise. Where ever you go your home is always with you. If you have a flat tire. Your home is with you. No cab expense to pay. No waiting on a bus. No waiting on someone for 2 or more hours to stop by to get you. In your travels to save gas. Stay close to the inner city. Travel less and not a lot. Plenty of shadey trees daytime and at night pick out 7 places for sleeping nightime. Different tho. Apts and resturants. Businesses of loadind docks with 18 wheelers parked to be loaded. Nobody working. Etc. At apts. Park at the exit gate area. Back row before closing of the office about 5 min til 6pm. When the office closes the gates will close to lock up for the night. Uaually the gates will open at 7am.then leave. Off to whatever you need to do. Just thinking of you also everyone to. Im sure bob has much informatio to give you. Prayers is with you gene and bob also everyone. And all the nomads and nomad eannabes to. Im 75 yrs. Old. Been in stinking apts. For 47 yrs. Im a nomad wannabe to. But what stops me is a hard headed husband that doesnt understand anything about freedom happiness. Saving money. Being our own boss. No rent. Peace of mind. Eating better. Camping out. Join a planet fitness center. Planning early for the next locations to go to. Truck stops to. Locations of laundrymats. Etc. May god bless you all and much love to all. Also love that bob and cody and brian. Happy travels. Keep us posted. Thank you all.a big fan jan from texas. I dont have a emergency fund. And i need a dream van to get. Love those vans. It woul cost about 40.000.00 for my van. Cuz i will live permanently ready to be happy for the rest of my life and my husband to. He needs to wake up and smell the coffee of how important nomad life is. Im ready. Been ready for 5 yrs. Now. Also many thanks and a lot of love to bob for his videos. My favorite one is his life story of how he got started as a nomad. It has a beautiful picture of his beautiful handsome face only on the video. Its a must see. Anyone can do this. Low income and more. Just get out there and do it. You will be glad you did. Do little steps. Go camping. Stay as long as you want. If anyone tells you to not do it. Tell them you will do this for yourself. You have a few dreams. Have the experience of a wonderful different kind of life. If you are solo. Dont be afraid. Have no fear jesus is here. The devil wants everyone to live in fear. Think jesus.he will make a way. And pray. For you all. Amen. Amen. Amen. Prayers is with you all.

My wife and I are both disabled and are on a very limited income and we're forced to become full time rivers, the most painful part was leaving a home with years of memories. The best part is we still have each other and we were immediately welcomed by others in the same predicament we are in.

“I lost so much, I just gotta hit the road” this man said. I’ve lost a lot myself, and I can feel the pain in someone else when I hear them say things like that. Somehow, over the past two years full timing, and being on the road, I learned to use all that pain as propellant. A positive force to fuel me on my journey through the west.
I’m only 40 years old, but I lost everything good that I had in my life too not long ago. So I hit the road. Like so many of us have. 13 states, 9 national parks, and 10,000+ miles later, my own life is unrecognizable to me at times. I have seen so much beauty in this country, and met so many kind people it is just unbelievable.
Thank you Bob Wells. Thank you a thousand times. Thank you for helping me. Without you, and the stories of the people out there that you shared with me, I wouldn’t have had the courage to take the first step. Now I’m on the other side of the country, in a 40-year old travel trailer…and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done in my life. Thank you, thank you, thank you 🙏❤️ perhaps our paths will cross at some point in the future and I can tell you all about it in person!

I was not fortunate to find a job where i could work remotely. I have my dads truck and a few clothes. Everything else is in storage. Its about to all be sold come spring. Feral Cat I am 72 and plan on heading out this Nov. We are all the same I guess but this video and Gene sure does give us encouragement, you are correct. I hit the National Forests in my car coming home from Colorado, after watching grandkids for school year (priceless) in a little Honda Accord. Bought a privacy tent etc. just to get a taste of what it would be like. That trip home helped solidify that I had to do this. Mt Rushmore was awesome. The peace and beauty was great everywhere along with the Wild life. Sleeping in my car wasn't ideal but waking to things like Buffalo grazing in a field to my north and the beauty of the badlands to the south was an experience I enjoyed, won't forget and look forward to ! And the new full time and part time rv-ers out there were great to talk to and every single one said don't hesitate, get out here you won't regret it !

That looked way nicer than I expected. Love the wood shelving. Here's a tip on finding stuff. I keep a small journal with tabs where I write various things regarding my living space (and other misc notes). I have one tab labeled, "Where is it?" :-) On the pages, I write headings referencing the area and box. Like, "Closet" and "Tote 1." Whenever I put (or change) anything in those spaces, (especially something I can't see or feel I might forget) I write it in that section of the journal. So when I start looking for or can't find something, I flip open my "Where is it?" pages. Note, write the headings in sharpee/pen and the contents in pencil (anything that you'll later need to erase/change when you re-locate an item).

I agree that it’s a great idea. Knowing me, though, I’m likely to forget to write it down initially or when I change it up.
For instance, one of my cats takes medicine twice a day, and I was finding that I couldn’t remember if I had given it to her or not.
So, I made a little chart with the idea to mark it each time I gave it to her.
It is helping, but I have forgotten to check it off a few times after I had given her the medicine. Then, it’s “Did I forget to give her the medicine or did I just forget to mark it down?”
However, it is helping. I am being more consistent. And I’m sure your tip would help also.
I have pretty severe ADHD, which complicates a lot of things.

Except for the name and a few other changes, my story's the same one. There is peace and happiness available after sadness.

What a great story and interesting guy. I’m appalled how we treat our seniors in North America. Good for him. While it might not have been in his plans, better than waiting to die in a congregate setting. I admire his resilience.
    And what a view!

I went to America and absolutely loved the desert, especially Arizona and Nevada. They are so peaceful and calming, and intensely beautiful.

I like him. He did an incredible job with his build...I really like it. It's so sad that people lose their homes when they get older. I know for a fact that's what is going to happen to me. It's scary and I think we all should have some sort of alternative plan for the future. He was smart to do it one step at a time. I wish him the very best. Thank you for the tour of his well done beautiful home.👍😊
