Trout love ❤️lures and can hit amazingly quick, 1980 Whitsundays offshore 80 kilometres! Friend going for skippers ticket, on a 60 footer with around 8 people, i borrowed a tinnie 90 minutes before sunset, and trolled a 5 to 10 gram fresh water 💧 lure, in no time had 8 coral trout around 2 to 4 kilo!! This blew my mind ❤❤❤❤ 😂 😅 😊 and we're delicious
Just got back yesterday from 7days around the islands, had alot of luck in the same spots you fished. Its gonna be hard to settle back into fishing the Gold Coast after my time up there. I kept an eye out for your boat durning my time, was hoping to run into you at some point! Love your work brother.
@@bowlysfishing this is the first time you have replied I have watched and liked so all of your videos and tried so hard to get U to comment and this is it 😂
Hey Ian, I use braided line on all my fishing reels with a mono or flourocarbon leader on the end. In this video I think I had either 30lb or 40lb braid (can't remember exactly what I put on), with a 60lb mono leader attached to the end. You can get away with much lighter than this but as you would of seen in the video, sometimes you do hook a big fish and it's nice to have some pulling power!
How do you cast them into the Bommies with getting snagged up every 5 minutes, I’d be re-tieing all day. Do you just work it quicker so they don’t get stuck on the bottom? I always try and rig weedless in the rocks
Hey mate, you can do that to keep it up over the top of the reef, but mostly in this video I was spotting individual bombies and casting around the sides of them not over them (if I could). Mostly sand on the bottom next to the bombies which makes for easy fishing if you can see the reef.
Why does no one ever mention the constant twanging of the line with these reels when the rod is fully loaded? I think it's interesting how it's so prominent in so many of these dudes videos and they just ignore it like their Certate doesn't sound like a machine gun 😂.

Hey Bowly, Great fishing! What length and line weight rating is the rod are you using with the squid lure?
Thanks grant. It’s 7’4 PE3. Cheers.
where you get the squid lure from
Available at some tackle stores and at chasebaits.com.au
What would you say is the "ideal" all around mono breaking strain
to use in this situation?

Hey mate what size jig head you running ?
Hey bud, usually use a 6/0 hook in my jig heads for the 150mm squid. Then adjust weight for depth I’m fishing 👍🏼
