We spent the last few days exploring south florida lakes and canals in search of invasive species like the bullseye snakehead! These fish were introduced into Florida illegally two decades ago. They make excellent table fare, in addition to an amazing sportfish!

Your code didn’t work for me.
@mikebates4852 Hey idiot, guess you didn't pay attention to the video that well or you would've seen the part where he specifically addresses the legality of releasing an invasive species.
FWC says it is L E G A L to RELEASE the FISH back into the SAME BODY OF WATER IT WAS CAUGHT FROM. You guys honestly are just assholes, you have no idea what the law actually is, and you'll be the reason Landshark just outright STOPS making any videos relating to invasives. Would you rather have that? Lose 1/3rd, if not more, of his content pool and just watch the same boat in the ocean videos, everyday? Jesus christ get a life.
Here let me make an edit aswell. WHERE DO YOU SEE THAT IT IS ILLEGAL TO USE A DRONE FOR FISHING PURPOSES? Please, tell me. It's actually, again, completely L E G A L and they could even attach the line to the drone, and drop it FROM the drone, perfectly in place. That would be L E G A L aswell.
@@mikebates4852 It's not illegal to release Invasives as long as you release them in the same body of water you caught them in
@@LandsharkOutdoorsI just read the statutes and there is no exception that allows for them to be released back into the body of water that they were caught in. The law states that they cannot be released live and must be taken home, used as bait or otherwise disposed of. If caught in possession of a live snakehead or releasing one it is a second degree misdemeanor punishable by up to a $500 fine and/or 60 days in jail.
However if I am wrong I will happily redact my statement once you show the statute and text that shows you are correct.
I truly enjoy watching you hike around the canals of south Florida fishing for Snakehead. I have never eaten one. After watching all your videos, I agree with you. “ there are no bad fish just bad cooks “
Stay safe out there brother!
Victor is probably the best chef angler I know in YT - Genuinely kind couple ❤❤ Keep it up!
If they are invasive why are you releasing some?
😂😂😂😂😂
It’s Florida man, you just gotta enjoy the show 😂
The dude is just an npc, I mean cmon bro
he's a dumbass but he does seem nice
Isn’t it illegal to re-release snake due to their invasive status? I thought they have a kill on site.
Enjoyed watching two amazing fisherman do what they do best! Great tips. Nice seeing Tyler out there with you, love his vids at Suns Out Fishing! Snakehead, defining that you can't judge a fish by its cover! That peacock was gorgeous though LOL
absolute masterclass in fishing, cooking, and life. thank u
I appreciate how you're helping promote another UA-camr. Always love y'all.👍🎣🍻
Love how this video is right to the point and pure action
Try lipless blades, small shallow dive minnows or even currly tail grubs... whopper ploppers will also work. Happy snakehead fishing from.the Philippines
Im originally from Vietnam but grew up in the US. Snakeheads are very popular in Vietnam. They are delicious. Try this recipe: Tamarind Broth with snakeheads and Elephant Ear Stems
2 ounces tamarind pulp
6 cups cold water
2 tablespoons fish sauce
3 1/2 ounces sliced pineapple
4 tablespoons sugar
1 (14 to 17 1/2-ounce) mud fish or silver perch, cut into 1/2-inch thick cutlets
2 tomatoes, sliced into wedges
2 ounces elephant ear stems, peeled and sliced*
2 ounces fresh okra, sliced
2 ounces bean sprouts
1 bunch rice paddy herb, sliced*
1 bunch sawtooth coriander, sliced*
1/2 teaspoon fried sliced red Asian shallots*
1/2 teaspoon fried garlic chips
1 chile, sliced
Steamed jasmine rice or vermicelli noodles, to serve
the only bad thing is your are eating all the yard chemicals and pesticides when you eat these fish due to their surroundings
You are breathing car fumes. Our store bought food is poisoned. Chicken are full of antibiotics. Bro, you are not going to evade the toxins. Eating a canal fish or two aint gonna kill you. The mentioned chicken is more likely to do it.
Saves you having to add condiments. 👌
@@technomickdocumentalist2495 I dont see my comment. Was it deleted? Is youtube at it again?
Wpb in the house once you cook the fish any parasite or“ Chemical” It may have been exposed to is cooked right off, LMAO
@@neutronshiva2498
Happens to me all the time on here pal too, proper shady behavior from my beloved UA-cam. 😮🤓🥲
I love your videos not only because you’re a local, but because you post and film videos that I wouldn’t normally see and I appreciate it.
I love watching your videos! Always informative about the fish you're catching and respectful of the catch too. Love your work taking out invasive species and I'm sure the local fauna appreciate it too!
Respectful of the catch? Just hurling the fish back from where you stand and holding the fishes weight against its jaw isn't what we would call "fish care" in our country.
Ah well. IIWII I guess.
Pete 🇬🇧
Love seeing Vik bust out the baitcaster and show off the amazing variety the Florida fisheries have to offer.
Thanks for watching!
Land shark outdoors and sunsoutfishing W collab 🙌🏼
🙌🙌🙌
Love your videos. I can't help but chuckle every time you say you cook the fish outside so you don't smell up the house, then you start loading a pan with garlic. 😅
By the way the best freshwater fish to eat is saugeye.
suns out is so underrated! i love his content!
Appreciate that!
I really thought I was the only one using baitcasters to catch snakehead 😂😂😂 good video vic! Might have to buy a drone now
Baby corn as bait! Victor you are a true fisherman. Always thinking about ways to catch the fish. I'm going to steal that idea and try it here in Michigan. Really enjoyed the drone view.
The drone footage is an amazing add on!
Fabulous video!! 🇺🇸
Awesome video as usual, but I have a hunch you're outside way too much to play fish clash!!!😂😂😂
Great collab! Landshark and sunsoutfishing doing it!
Yessir!
Ok Vik I'm going to give snake head a try being a south florida native. Never fished in our canals and lived here all my life.
Hello from San Diego California btw it’s nice seeing you guys getting after the invasive species it makes for a good show
Yeww sd baby
Thanks for watching!
heckava good vid ,you an brook got this yall good team..love da vids an good info..staysafe..
Great job guys and the dish looked amazing!!!
Thanks for watching!
Wow, that's an interesting Peacock Bass at 24:33
The secret to life is garlic and ginger. Swear to god, best base to savory dishes
I love watching Snake Heads fight. Experience it myself on the battle here in asia. And seeing you play with it it's like catching feather. So good
landshark i love you're videos even my grandma watches you lol
Tell her I said whats up haha
Love love love your videos keep up the great content
garlic and onions have some of the best aromas. add some citrus to it and man you got some serious smells going on then haha. eel sauce is delicious. looked pretty good! ready for my south Florida fishing trip in april
Good stuff boys! I really thought McDonalds had all day breakfast 😂
hahaha
Nope, in Florida they serve breakfast until 11am. Maybe your thinking of Jack in the box? They serve it all day.
Tyler is a good guy.
Hes a real guy!
Snakehead are crazy fish!
Cool video looks like a lot of fun
nice catch dude
Thanks, Landshark Outdoors.
Nice Video. I like fishing snake head. It strike the very aggressive and it is fun as well.
Love the drone shots man...
Hi there @LandsharkOutdoors !! Did your drone pilot use polarized filters for this drone footage? It looks stunning in these shallows even with full sun! As a Parkland local I would love to use some of these strategies for my fishing! Thanks so much, and great video!
i live in boyton..been fishing the canals...but i just can't seem to get a snakehead...plenty of peacocks and bass..def going to implement some of your techniques
Chicken of the tree is what we call squirrel up here.
When I was a kid there was a mulberrry tree overhanging a lake...when it started dropping Fruit the carp were easy pickins using a few berries as bait..
Watching your videos makes me so excited that it should be pretty easy to catch some fish !! Visiting Jupiter Florida from today to end of week !! Gna hit the Jupiter beach hopefully for my first Blacktip Shark!!! You've inspired me to try !!!!!
If you see two snakeheads of similar size chilling together, it could be a breeding pair. The best thing for the situation is a jerkbait. Just have to keep working. If they’re in deeper water with a fryball, you can try a crankbait or a sinking pencil. This has worked for me going after giant snakeheads and common snakeheads. They kinda go into defensive mode when they’re breeding. My biggest snakehead was a 13lb male. My buddy got the female which was around 18lb.
Yall should print some shirt for all of y’all that’s says “Florida Invasive Species Harvest Management ” AKA “F.I.S.H. Management” and make it look “official”to deter the Karen encounters.
FYI - We bought the EZ Wok (complete kit) for stir fry outside. Its kinda scary, like cooking on a jet engine. My son has cooked several nice meals with success.
Just saying, if you do stir fry enough and you're using the grill for the fish... you might consider it.
Hard to believe such a weird looking fish caught in neighborhood canals would such tasty meat. What is so charming about Viktor and Brook is how down to earth and normal they are. Viktor cooks all sorts of gourmet dishes but still appreciates McDonalds. No airs put on by that couple.
Hey Victor,
what kind of fishing reel your friend has? Looks pretty robust.
I was born and raised in Miami. The only fishing we could afford was fresh water, but we really enjoyed eating pan fish. In my travels, I've eaten cobia and snook and have to say the snakehead looked delicious and as pretty as any snapper I've ever had. I'll have to try it.
Great vid Vic, which frog is that? Thanks! Keep killing the videos! 🤙🏼
Lovely video!
Have you ever heard of the Northern Snakehead the other invasive type?
Fermented snakehead fish which is commonly used in southeast Asia can also be combined with other ingredients to make various delicious dishes such as papaya Salad 🔥
Going to south Florida this summer time, hoping to knock out some snakeheads with top water. Great video like always!
Good luck out there!
@@LandsharkOutdoors Thank you! Been a long fan of your channel
The opening shot was that behind the Publix on judge winicof
Boy you had me there Victor until you added the snow peas! ;-)
That's so sick to see the fish and watch them hit your lure! 😮😅😊
Up here in the North in Michigan, we have carp all over and we used corn.
We have a lot of these snakefish in Vietnam. I used to fish them as a kid. I have to say flesh water fish, the snakehead fishes are totally amazing fish to eat.
i love suns out fishing hes putting up some great content
im headed to fl in a week or two trying to knock monster tarpon off the list.
Hell yeah! Great time a year to get after them! Good luck 👍
thanks man @@SunsOutFishing
You gotta love Florida. 🎣
I wish they were in the lake I fish. They not only fight good. I heard they were good eating. Maybe one day it will pick up. 😂😂😂
I wouldn't eat ANYTHING out of SoFLa canals!
@@swkelley SAD pollution Everywhere. Not Good. Have a blessed Day Amen.
fun to catch, and great eating. win-win. check your local fishing regs, in my state it is illegal to release any snakehead.
Landshark the goat for sure im sure you know this but dont listen to them lame haters end of the day them watching your videos putting money in your pocket hate or not
Appreciate all ur amazing content. And ur cooking skills and perfect 👌 👍 the latinanglers appreciate all ur videos
I’m an SPG guy myself when it comes to seasoning. Try SPG and Italian seasoning on pan fried fish. 🔥
Sweet corn and night crawlers
This may sound crazy but McDonald's French fries on a size 8 or 10 long shank hook and you will catch giant carp. Something about the oil slick from the fry is a magnet for them. They love them!
Just give it a try
Nice video, truly just curious if y’all are allowed to catch and release those? Tried looking it up but couldn’t tell
👍👍Great video!
Hey man, love your videos! Random question, going to South Carolina in October and was wondering if you knew of any good charters in the Myrtle beach area around that time? Just getting into fishing so I have no idea what’s in that area or even in season. Thanks
I dont sorry
It’s hard to cast but baked potato works on carp like crazy with some vanilla extract, corn ,I personally catch em on night crawlers .
You should try some diced pablano in that stir fry, I bet that would be a great addition
McDouble, mcchicken and a Coke Zero. Literally the only thing I get at McDonald’s when I go 3-5 times a year. The craving hits.
You should come to Maryland and check out the northern snakehead! Best game fish we have!!
They wouldn't eat a blackberry? Did you try throwing them a Palm Pilot or a Razor instead?
IPhone is your only hope 😂
Amazing fishing
That is the most beautiful ditchwater I have ever seen.
Mate every time you post a snakehead catch and cook i click no matter what
Why would you throw an invasive fish back just to depleat the smaller fish like brim and specalled perch that we like. Not to mention smaller bass.
In the old days big bass were caught using pork rind frogs. I bet using raw preserved rinds ss the frog lure legs might entice more bites. Also the texture and taste might get them to hang on. Just a thought.
Gotta love those guys that hold the fish out as far as possible for a photo
wait....so they are freshwater? or is it mixed with maybe a little salt? im in Tennessee with just lakes, rivers, creeks etc. so i have no idea
Snakeheads are called murral in India. They are considered a delicacy. They are harvested from irrigation lakes and are sold for 600 to 800 rupees a kilogram.
Next time use corn when fishing for grass carp Vik!
Where in South Florida was this? I went a few months ago and couldn't get anything. I saw snakehead which wouldn't touch a thing after it saw me. From Jupiter to Miami and I got nothing. It was the cold season (like 60ish) and a "cold front) hit two days before I went but I figured since the fish in Jacksonville were still biting in 45-55, that mids 60s at night and 75ish during the day would be fine. I was wrong
I'm from from SoFla. The freshwater bite slows down in the winter, especially around cold snaps. 60 degrees may as well be freezing for our freshwater fish. They are used to 80+.
Vic you should do a video on bluegill and other freshwater species more native to florida im sure people would live to see you limit out on Okeechobee
Snakehead tacos 🌮 or a southeast Asian dish with them.
first time seeing your content and i love it, keep the good work guys. and i immediately hit that subscribe button🤍🤍🤍
Aside from Coral Trout and Hognose Snapper, Snakehead is up there in the top 3 eating fish.
Nice!!!
2:00 that was a huge largemouth!
Chicken of the trees! 🤣
North of Tamarac correct? Didn't have much luck last time I went did see a few though
If the fish didn't eat top water bait..you can change to soft plastic bait run it middle or bottom.. usually they will bite instantly..or u can use bait buzz bait or something noisy..
I want one of those aluminum spinning reels! What brand is that???
I would never think to see you at one of my spots 😂
Can you share the frog lore you’re using? Thought there would be a link. Thanks so much.
