oh no the rolling giant is dead
You know it's bad when the headline starts "Yet another..."
There is affordable housing available in pleasant grove....send the broke people there.
Sale it to me for a dollar. Really piss them off...
The owner is culpable.
All the crime from South Dallas keeps creeping with the development. I know why they don't want to create affordable housing there. It makes sense. Go look at Frisco. Good area for the most part but all you have to do is take a trip to Carrollton to see the night and day difference.
This isn"t Frisco though. This is Dallas. Look at it.
Why all of crime come from South Dallas, you act like North Dallas don't have its own problems to 🤔. And I'm sure people not coming all the way from South Dallas and go to North Dallas to go vandalized and burn up a old Mall🧐
Someone finally set that thing on fire. Not difficult to figure out the crime.
Fair enough
🤦🏻♂️The city of DALLAS does not have an affordable housing crisis problem when you compare it to cities like New York City, San Francisco or Los Angeles. How do I know this I left Dallas to live in Los Angeles and Dallas is so much more affordable to live in with plenty of housing. The owner (Scott Beck) is NOT REQUIRED to have affordable housing if he doesn’t want to he wants to keep it high end as it was 20 plus years ago. I remember at one point VALLEY VIEW MALL was once all high end remember the first and only BLOOMINGDALE’S department store that was once there? I honestly think it’s the politicians who are the bad guys in this story.👿👎
So the owner is forced to build low income housing? The city doesn’t care that it could likely be “upscale” and improving the city? City doesn’t want anything but quickmart’s? They’ll build a new slum to replace the old slum.
It’s funny because he wants to build a high class property but yet he wants the financial aid from the city of Dallas, but yet he rather that money go towards high class people who already have money than people that actually need the money & need affordable housing and place to live. Maybe he should call his rich friends to help him out?
Gimme...Gimme....Gimme
What happened to the mall? I used to be so chic and fashionable. It looks like a tornado hit it.
It will be an improvement to the entire city. Better businesses will move in too. More taxes for city from upscale businesses and housing. The city will WIN. What wrong with you..
@@bobbykiefer4306 Malls are dying. They’re not popular anymore. Most people do not shop at malls anymore. The only real malls left in Dallas is NorthPark and The Galleria.
What they wanted to build, They don't want anymore?
just the way she is speaking is pathetic trying to force someone to build something on their property and very clearly making threats out of frustration that he won’t fold to their demands i bet if he agreed they’d have a lot more time and a lot more money
Nah. This mall has been sitting abandoned for years. According to him, it was suppose to be demolished years ago. This project was started nearly 10 years ago. The city has been wayyyyyyyy to lenient for allowing this site to be a blight.
No more welfare "affordable" housing!
What about affordable land? This is also about the real estate value of the land.
Yeah and no more corporate welfare bailouts for the rich 📈🫵🏽😡
What an eyesore!
I have shopped at Malls all around the world The Sherman Oaks mall in LA had a Movies Made at It like Fast times at Ridegmont high and Terminator to name a few I'm over looking the Malibu beach thinking about all the great shopping I did at Valley View mall it had some great stores I preferred then when in dallas wit fam ... The Galleria mall is OK Town east don't go there Valley View was a great mall at one time
