The cut they left in with Tom laughing as Pete helps him up after being around kryptonite at the end always gets me. It's as if this lower dose of liquid kryptonite tickles Clark 😂
I see it more of a laugh out of relief from not being fataly injured which I have done before... OR a laugh out of the irony of Pete saving him when Clark has always done the saving in their relationship
@@TalkVillePodcast Was so shocked i never noticed this before and I have watched through the series at least 20 times lol. Always find it cool to see little bits like that, that make it into the final cut in films and television. {cough} coffee cup-game of thrones {clears throat}
I too have always noticed this detail and it seems to me mostly a smile too, other times it simply seems to me the expression on Tom's face which is still undergoing a physical effort, but whatever Clark/Tom's expression is I love it and every time I go peek at the angle of the camera to enjoy it.
love that Tom thinks Lionel is faking his blindness. It's fun to see you guys experience the shows "for the first time". He truly is blind at first but his sight eventually comes back but he does end up faking it for awhile!
When Pete is willing to die to protect Clark’s secret… get you a friend like Pete that keeps it 💯 for life. Love this episode!! Definitely great to see Sam Jones III stretch his acting skills!
He was great! I admit on my first watch, I was super disappointed at Pete's original reaction of distrust, anger and even feelings of betrayal - not to mention that line about him not being human - (cuz I had pictured Pete instantly accepting Clark and the conflict would arise cuz maybe he wouldn't get the weight of the secret) but now I get why the writers went this way instead. Plus it serves to add to Clark's trauma growing up, who he can/can't share with, and the consequences. It all starts w Pete, and Sam Jones does a great job.
Actually one of my favorite moments in this episode is when Clark reaches out to Pete trying to comfort him and Pete pulls away from him not wanting Clark to touch me. Not only because he doesn't trust him anymore (as he found out that Clark lied to him) but knowing of his powers now, he's actually afraid of him. There is a beat when Clark just looks at Pete, a little surprised and a little hurt, before he very calmly says, "Pete, I would never hurt you." I love that moment. Beautifully played by Welling.
Ryan was cracking me up on this episode of Talkville! (Remember my paperweight?) And he was spot on with the "But is Pete really Clark's best friend?" I always wondered if the original intention was to have more Pete and less Chloe, but Mack just made her character too interesting to be overshadowed and the roles switched.
I believe that that is exactly what happened until I hear evidence to the contrary. It's bad luck for Pete cause they wrote him as such a blank. He had nothing to work with. Allison got to be a kid Detective/ reporter. There's a lot to chew on there.
Regarding Pete's BFF relationship with Clark... I'd have agreed with your statement if it wasn't for Chloe's 'investigative reporter' persona, and her 'accessibility' to information that always proves useful to Clark. I cannot imagine how or where Pete would be useful in that regard. Plus, Chloe-Lana-Clark triangle sounds easier to write about than a Pete-Lana-Clark triangle. If Pete was the editor of the Torch and knew about Clark's secret from first grade, now that would've been a cool set up.
What I love about Pete finding out about Clark's ability, is that it gives us the viewer somebody to relate to since we're finding out about Clark too. It's like we can all discover this together. Sam Jones added so much to those early years of Smallville.
I always thought it was hilarious that when Clark stop Pete's car the wheels keep spinning in the dirt like Pete hit the gas instead of hitting the brakes like any normal person would do! It's almost like he was trying to run Clark over! 😆
Haha I never even questioned that! I just assumed he was going "ah, ok Clark's a superhero, and I'm made at him, so I'm gonna keep flooring it to metaphorically represent our argument!", it made perfect sense in my head at the time!
I just rewatched that scene to see what you're talking about. It's actually very realistic. I've been in that position before: someone (that I had no foreknowledge of them being anywhere near the car) unexpectedly moving right in front of the car I was driving. (They were not seriously injured.) Your brain is still processing what's actually happening while your body is on auto-pilot. They appear in front of the car and my mind goes: 'Wait. What is that? Is that a person? What is that? What's happening?' And then the brakes are hit. (Absolute confusion and then dawning realization, because it's totally unexpected and it's not like it was a person up ahead that I'm watching that suddenly jumped in front of my car - I've also had that happen and was able to miss this person with quick reflexes - yes, it was a suicidal person or some idiot that somehow thought it was a clever way of suing somebody.) Like Pete looking in his rearview mirror, I was looking elsewhere (making a right turn, pressing the gas to move forward looking to my left again to make sure another car isn't coming and then looking back to where I'm going and suddenly a person is just there that wasn't there literally a second ago - the mind is just processing, before it can react, the appearance of this thing, this object, a person on a bike with their back to me, that's somehow already less than two feet from the front of my moving car). In short: It's exactly what would happen. Very realistic. Pete's awareness is still calculating Clark suddenly being in front of his car (when he was just way behind) and his mind needs to process what he's seeing before his body can even react.
Shout out to John Glover! As the son of a blind person, John's performance is in my top 3 best performances as a blind character. His movement, directional processing reacting to sounds over visuals, gestures in tactile approach were just spot on. If I had only seen this episode I would have initially thought that they gotten a blind actor to play the role. Kudos to John Glover.
thanks Katherine, for telling us that Clark cracked up laughing in this scene :D thats why i love the podcast. you learn things you didnt knew and have so much fun with Michael, Tom and Ryan. thank you guys.
I love watching these, but i hope so desperately that you guys keep doing this into the later seasons. Smallville is one of the rare shows that just get better and better for their entire run. I want Talkville for Season 10!!
Yes the episode when Clark finally tells Pete his secret. I was glad Pete finally became part of the family with knowing Clarks secret. It bottles you up if you kept all that in your head.
And how great was the emotional range for Pete! Starting off pissed at Clark and ending up nearly dying for him. Beautiful how he hit the full spectrum in this one ep!
I'm with Ryan, it is so nice to finally see Pete with some purpose, he has felt so underused up until this point. It was also nice that he was first to know the big secret, when it could have easily been Chloe or Lana. I loved how surprised Ryan was that someone found out about Clark's secret, it was good to see a fresh reaction - I hardly remember what happens in Smallville at all, but I did know that at some point Pete knows! 😄 I think it was definitely time too, there is only so many times Clark can disappear or make excuses before it begins to get tired, I don't blame Lana for getting annoyed with him for hiding stuff, he is so bad a hiding stuff, always looks so guilty and shifty 😄It is good that they changed the dynamic slightly in this episode. Thank you Rosey, Tom and Ryan, making me smile as usual! ❤
Pete Ross the most under rated character on SV.He was the only one that gave the show a high schoolers teens life.Chasing girls,Mixed up with the street racers,Played most HS sports. When he left he left a void.
Damn... lol. I saw some really impressive stuff from Sam and I noticed some horrible editing and continuity, messing it all up in a few different episodes.
I was so convinced that Ryan's favorite scene would be Clark stopping Pete's car but that wasn't even an option! I guess it would be too obvious cause that was easily my favorite scene!
John Glover had an interview where he said that he never knew he was supposed to be faking until an episode or two before it was revealed in the episode to the audience. So he basically played Lionel blind the whole time barring 2 episodes.
It really worked, though! And like Andrew said, I always figured he really was blind for a little bit, but instinctually kept the bit going even after he regained his sight. It's 100% something strategically advantageous that Lionel would do.
I just started watching Smallville because of seeing a short clip of this show (Talkville) my FB feed. But as a 39 year old man, I think the reason most people got into this show back in the early 2000’s because the timing that this show came out in was the perfect time. We as America was very Pro-America/Pro-Hero and this show kind of encapsulated the American Dream in a way especially for kids but also this show was really the first of its kind that spoke to most of us born in the 80’s that were going thru high school at the time. Also the storyline was amazing. Watching this show for the first time, it makes me WANT to have my kids watch it with me. My Kids are teenagers now but I feel like this has a lot of good morals and good content that most shows nowadays lack.
You know, I like your perspective on Clark and Pete. I think by default he’s s’posed to be Clark’s “best friend”, but there’s more evidence of Chloe, even Lana, filling that role for Clark in S1 than Pete given less to do. It’s odd that for the character, knowing the secret could be in step with an increased role, but for the actor it may have been a clue he was due for an exit per their suppositions on the pod today.
I do also gotta say, I love when you guys goof with each other. It's human, it's what podcasting is for hahaha. When Tom was first on Inside of You and you guys were fucking around and Tom was miming... a certain gesture... with the mic- I was like, fuck yeah! I love these dudes! The fact that you're real friends outside of the show is what every fan wants to hear and see. And again, it's a podcast, it's not a normal job- goof off! Have a blast! Thanks for another great ep!
Ryan does a mean Kermit! I was just about to say that Tom was reading the Patreon names really well this episode, and then he stumbles on Janet 🤣🤣 ah well, can't win 'em all!
Very cool that Joe Morton was in this and of course was also later connected in DC as Cyborg's father. Another lifelong DC-connected actor. Love stuff like that. Always cool to see actors repping DC in multiple roles.
I'm giving it 🌹and my favourite scene was probably Pete and Clark when they had the argument and Clark was telling Pete his reaction was the exact reason that he had never told him.
😂😂😂 i laughed when you said you didnt like how pete was saying "dont touch me" after learning Clarks secret. I agree but i laughed so hard at that part..the way sam was like dont touch me man and ran out was so hilarious 😂😂 and kinda annoying at the same time.
Lana calling Clark out on being secretive is great in this particular episode because obviously Clark JUST told Pete his big secret, so the audience might actually think that Clark might actually tell her in that moment.
Thank you so much Tom, Michael & Ryan for doing this podcast. This is gold and makes my Wednesdays better 🫶🏼 You're the only Superman of my Metropolis City of frustration. Love you 😽😽😽
Pete really did give Clark that extra support after he finds out, and you can tell that Clark is relieved not to have to lie to him anymore. Totally understand his freak out at first though
- for sure man, if I had found a damn space ship with my homie and saw him straight up stealing it with his family and then lying to me about what happened....like thats cause to go to war so its at least enough to destroy a friendship.
It was just inevitable that Pete would find out Clark's secret. He's a character straight from the comics. A best friend of Clark's who knows his secret. Thinking back on it, I'm kind of surprised it took the creative team this long for Pete to discover who Clark really is. The crazy thing that I've read about Pete in the comics, though, is that he eventually becomes Vice President of the United States, under Lex Luthor. Let that sink in.
Great great episode. This was always one of my favorite episodes. I actually look it up on UA-cam and watch it every once in awhile. Pete's reaction to Clark telling him he's an alien, I thought, was perfect. Sam played Pete like he was in shock that his best friend kept this secret from him AND finding out he's an alien, I believe he totally forgot how they grew up and just reacted with the "Don't touch me" reaction. I enjoyed how Tom and Sam played the broken friendship as well. Clark really thought that Pete would be more understanding but it didn't go as planned. When Pete was confronted by Dr. Hamilton though, Pete knew that he had to protect Clark and that scene was incredible to watch. I've like watching Joe Morton since Terminator 2. He's such a great actor and always gives his best. The best part of this episode was when Pete asked Clark why he tried to save Dr. Hamilton. This was such a great episode and I would have to give it 2 1/2 roses because it showed that no matter what, Pete and Clark had a great friendship.
Great episode guys! Pete really was a ride or die bestfriend. The scene where Clark told Pete his secrets was really good and it was good drama. His initial reaction made Pete choosing to protect Clark's identity when his life was threatened by Dr Halmiton even more powerful. It also made the ending of the episode bittersweet. I hope you will get Sam on the podcast soon! At 20:47 Michael spoke facts it's indeed a problem that women have with men. A lot of men have a hard time opening up and saying how they really feel and it can be frustrating to be on a receiving end of that. Women often have to deal with that.
I really love this episode, Duplicity it's one of my favorites from Season 2. I love the brotherly friendship between Clark and Pete and I really love the multitude of feelings between Clark and Pete in this episode. In Clark there is sadness, fear, regret, the distress of feeling different and inadequate and the fear of not being accepted for one's otherness, made worse when the people who may not accept you are people you love and who you think they love you back like in this case. And in Pete there is anger, resentment, the feeling that his best friend/brother didn't trust him enough. But in both there is finally the love that always fixes everything in the end.♥️ And even if it means more risk for Pete and more concern for Clark, what could be better than sharing a heavy burden and your own inner loneliness with someone else? The weight of the burden is reduced from 100% to 50%.🙂 Great new Talk Ville episode. Love you Tom, Michael and Ryan❤❤❤. Thank you so much.🌹🌹🌹for me.
Such a great episode. Loved how Clark finally revealed his secret to Pete and brought him into his inner circle as someone for Clark to beable to share things with and for Pete to give insight when needed. Pete did help out quite a bit in future episodes. Also thought it was neat how Clark's ship was used as a plot device to reveal it. Thought Pete's reaction to Clark superspeeding in front of his car after leaving with the ship and Clark saying: "Pete, we need to talk" was pretty funny. Dr. Hamilton's return was cool too. Overall, fun episode.😀
I swear Rosenbaum talks about the five for fighting song and does the Kermit voice, then UA-cam breaks to the Vrbo ad that has Kermit (Jim Henson) singing. Tell the truth Michael, you set that up . . . somehow. The power of Lex knows no bounds!
TGI Wednesday!!! Love this episode and the story arc about the spaceship and how Clark told the truth to Pete! Love you guys!! Always hold on to Smallville
I'm so excited you guys are doing this. Smallville is still my favorite. I've gone back to binge watch the entire series at least 7 times since the finale was aired. I love how the show itself grows every season, not just the characters and actors playing them. The visuals, the stunts, the plots and storyline get better and better each season. Thank you guys for this podcast. I love hearing your opinions on the story being told in each episode and your experiences making them. 👏👏👏👏
Season 2 is the start of Lana changing from the sweet and innocent character from season 1 into a manipulative person, and it's so damn subtle and done so well. The obsession with the fact that Clark has a secret that he's not telling her, and in just about every episode (that she's in) from here until she finds out, she says small little things to try and get him to tell her his secret without making it obvious that she's doing it. Like seriously, at least once per episode interactions, she says something like "Well I'm always here if you wanna talk about anything", with that hidden agenda ever so slightly dripping from it. Even just the look in her eyes saying "Like your secret. Just tell me your damn secret." Lmao. She slowly starts to feel so much like she's entitled to his secret, which is honestly how an emotionally immature teenager would react. Kristen plays the part so damn well.
Yes! Awesome moment in Smallville History "Pete! We need to talk" Clark secret revealed 🎇 Enter Blind Luthor! John Glover killing it🎆 Always loved this episode then and now! Love hearing the Story's 🌹🌹 Thanks Guys 💙❤️🤘👏
I strongly disagree with Lana. She acts as if she's entitled to Clark's private life and all his secrets. Even if she is willing to share her personal life with others, that doesn't mean everyone else is obligated to share theirs. Her being upset with Clark because he won't tell her his secrets was by far the most annoying thing on this show.
Exactly, like imagine if his 'secret' was just trauma, like she's trying to pry all the time but you never know what someone is dealing with and pushing them to reveal more than they're comfortable with is not okay. I understand where she's coming from sometimes especially when they become closer but she is a bit too harsh on him.
18:16 nice to have lex show up in the Kent’s kitchen needed time away from mansion was getting crowded with Lionel when blind and have no space for him needed some air and asked about the ‘paper weight’ as in octagonal ship key which was surprise to even ask that one seem also less important🤷🏻♂️😂
I noticed that Lionel speaks differently when he's blind and even when he gets his sight back he changes back to speaking how he did before he was blind.
This episode is great! I'm watching the show for the first time, just started season 2 and I love it. Thanks guys for doing this podcast and getting deep into each episode. You guys are great! Michael and Tom FTW! 😀
Love watching the Pod every week, guys. Love chilling out and listing to you guys talk about the show, grew up with it back in the days and have rewatched it since then. Even when you guys are honest with some of the bad episodes, it's just so fun because everyone loves you guys giving your perspective on them now. Especially with how TV shows have changed, shorter season length and story formats. Long winded but yeah, love it and i hope you guys enjoy making it as much as we love watching :)
A scene has been badly cut in this episode. Clark's having a hard time because of the kryptonite, Pete helps him to stand up as he's wincing and the second after we can see Tom laughing 🤣 EDIT : Just watched the podcast, so glad someone warned you so you and Tom can watch it!
Dr. Hamilton was their first take on Dr. Emil Hamilton, who they reintroduce in the last few seasons with a completely different actor (who was later in Man of Steel), as a different character. So, I waa glad they resurrected the character without ACTUALLY resurrecting the character. Lol
Was watching an episode of the podcast and I noticed a Patriots helmet on the shelf behind Tom. I paused the video and called my wife to come into the room. She is from Connecticut. We live in Wisconsin (yeah, I know, sigh). She asked what's with that guy. I explained the premise of the podcast. I pointed out the helmet and my wife say"s, "He must be a great actor!" THAT is the logic I live with! You got a new fan, I got a huge smile. A win for us both!
I only caught bits and pieces of Smallville when it was originally on and I'm now watching it for the first time. I'll watch an episode and then watch the podcast. As of today, I am officially caught up to the pod. I'm a little bummed I'll have to wait now instead of having one ready to watch as a way to relax at the end of the day but I am so looking forward to more. It's awesome finding out behind-the-scenes stuff and hearing what you guys think. Thanks so much for doing this!
Love the podcast! So fun! Tom keep sharing your special effects stories. Great to hear how they "made the magic." Also would love for yall to come to the Creationcon in New Orleans!
Im up to almost season 5 and now that you mention the scene in Heat where they are all in the classroom ,it makes me think it might be the ONLY classroom scene I can remember from any episode so far. Any school scene has always been in the Torch , hallway , locker room , football field, swimming pool , boiler room , gym ,or outside the front entrance.
The funny thing about the reveal scene is when Clark stops the car and Pete notices it’s Clark doin it, he continues to step on the gas to run over Clark!😂😂😂
8:19 jeesh with Pete’s resistant I mean that’s a pain was unexpected🤦🏻🙃to attempt taking it back to farm is like in the opposite paths like ‘no I saw it will take it over at my place’ and suspicion as to Clark has a lisnence plate which he does!😂
Much better episode of Smallville this week. Always a great episode of Talkville. The full range of Tom's emotions in display in this one. Really loved his nice being able to share with Pete relief at the end of the episode. Nice to have Lionel back as well
I look forward to this podcast every week. I have Wednesdays off, so I save it for Thursday morning when I head back to work. Definitely makes the morning better.
Love watching you guys, you are funny, entertaining and I just want to listen to you forever. Watching Smallville now for the first time, I am already finishing season 9, I know Michael is not there anymore, but please try and continue all the way till the end of the show as it's a very special thing to have online in the future when it will be even harder for you guys to remember how things were done behind the scenes, feelings, thoughts and more. Was very emotional when John Glover told us about his thoughts and memories. For the sake of the future keep doing this, there are many shows I wish I can view from that kind of angle. So it's fun to just listen to you laughing, while painting... Thank you 💗
Creepy opening and so cool everyone gave amazing performances this episode best scene would be that rescue of Pete much energy 🌹🌹 cute Tom broke character Ah finally we see Tom without his hat at the end lovely
Yes "Duplicity "..I like that Smallville episode!..Clark has Pete as his new "trusted best friend ".even though Pete was very upset and shocked by Clarks secrets but really had to understand why Clark had to do it to keep his loving parents safe from harms way,!😎😎🍺🍺..
I loved this episode, especially how it ended. The scene with Pete and Clark playing basketball and the song choice was perfect when Clark jumped over him. I wish you would list/ review the great songs, soundtracks when reviewing the episodes. So many are still on my playlist today.
I got so used to Pete Ross in Smallville that I was thrown when he was a redhead in the Man of Steel movie. When I watch it I always catch myself thinking 'that's not Pete'. Smallville forms so much of my connection to Superman after the original with Christopher Reeves.
Pete sees spaceship: "Damn, what's that?" 😅
😂😂😂
This has become such a good meme and rightly so 😂
I can’t wait for RED next week!
And you better not shit all over that one too, Rosenbaum! 🤣

15:14 I still remember being so shocked and excited when seeing this scene 20 years ago! One of the best in the early seasons!
I always thought Lionel was initially legitimately blind, but when he started regaining his sight, kept that to himself.
It really worked, though! And like Andrew said, I always figured he really was blind for a little bit, but instinctually kept the bit going even after he regained his sight. It's 100% something strategically advantageous that Lionel would do.
@@TheDonkeyJote I think that’s how it’s supposed to be
@@TheDonkeyJote Yeah you’re right. Lionel tells Lex he had his vision back for weeks before telling.
That's the directors fault. You should notice he's performing it that way and go fill him in so it doesn't ruin the story
Michael Rosenbaum singing Superman is gonna be my new alarm tone.
Really this episode was the start of Clark and Pete's friendship and now him knowing also helps Clark where he doesn't have to make excuses.
@@alexandermoylan6637 Pete is the first friend to know about Clark's secret.
My girlfriend always laughs at how Tom sounds exactly the same as when he was on the show 😂
Ryan does a mean Kermit!
I was just about to say that Tom was reading the Patreon names really well this episode, and then he stumbles on Janet 🤣🤣 ah well, can't win 'em all!
Pete's reaction:
?
Damn...who's that"
Damn. whats that
Very cool that Joe Morton was in this and of course was also later connected in DC as Cyborg's father. Another lifelong DC-connected actor. Love stuff like that. Always cool to see actors repping DC in multiple roles.
5:25 Jittery Dr Hamilton has got tense and when he storms out unhinged, just cracks me up!😂
I'm giving it 🌹and my favourite scene was probably Pete and Clark when they had the argument and Clark was telling Pete his reaction was the exact reason that he had never told him.
The episode "Red" is next week?! Get your roses ready!
Thank you so much Tom, Michael & Ryan for doing this podcast. This is gold and makes my Wednesdays better 🫶🏼 You're the only Superman of my Metropolis City of frustration. Love you 😽😽😽
thanks for joining us
I believe this was the last episode with Joe Morton as Dr. Hamilton. He was so good in the episodes he appeared in.
@@Babidi111 but Clark didn't steal it from Pete. Hamilton did
3:01 Rosenbaum’s comments about his raspy voice. 🤣
Yep. And somehow, he made the character so likable you almost forgive him for what he hasnt already done 😂
Great episode! Clark having a friend to watch his back is so refreshing 🌹🌹🙂
solid score
I really love this episode, Duplicity it's one of my favorites from Season 2. I love the brotherly friendship between Clark and Pete and I really love the multitude of feelings between Clark and Pete in this episode. In Clark there is sadness, fear, regret, the distress of feeling different and inadequate and the fear of not being accepted for one's otherness, made worse when the people who may not accept you are people you love and who you think they love you back like in this case. And in Pete there is anger, resentment, the feeling that his best friend/brother didn't trust him enough. But in both there is finally the love that always fixes everything in the end.♥️
And even if it means more risk for Pete and more concern for Clark, what could be better than sharing a heavy burden and your own inner loneliness with someone else? The weight of the burden is reduced from 100% to 50%.🙂
Great new Talk Ville episode.
The show's starting to get to some of the iconic episodes for me, I think I need to start my own rewatch and double-time it to catch up!
Got to love these one liners they sneak in. Pete: "you act like you have a license and registration on this spaceship! 🚀" 👀 Well.....
I swear Rosenbaum talks about the five for fighting song and does the Kermit voice, then UA-cam breaks to the Vrbo ad that has Kermit (Jim Henson) singing. Tell the truth Michael, you set that up . . . somehow. The power of Lex knows no bounds!
Completely awesome how Clark finally had enough and told Pet his secret. I love the acting on the show and the scene was just done so well.
TGI Wednesday!!! Love this episode and the story arc about the spaceship and how Clark told the truth to Pete! Love you guys!! Always hold on to Smallville
SANTI!! my man
Michael with the "maybe I'll watch em" knowing damn well he not go watch Spiderman lol
the amount of times i cracked up laughing during this podcast episode :D I swear you guys are the funniest!
Damn, I love this podcast so much! I grew up on Smallville. Season 1 to season 10, week by week, year by year. Seeing this brings back memories!
Tom looked really great in that black t-shirt! He should wear it for every podcast!
Blind Lionel!!! haha milking it
@@TalkVillePodcast 🤣🙏 Take it and run with it🤘🌹🌹
"You're name dropping, I get it" lmao! Always a blast, another great week guys! I love anytime you guys get Tom laughing, it always cracks me up :)
I don't remember this ep either but I'll rewatch it for Pete. Michael singing five for fighting, is me. Cracked up at the kermit impression.
I agree. Either trust Clark bc he’s proven himself otherwise trustworthy or move the freak on, girl.
Amen to this!
“He’s a great Dude Man!” 44:01
I was looking forward to this week had a rough first couple days it's fun to disappear in the nostalgia...
Pls don’t have rough days just be happy it’s very easy once you break your negativity
Enjoy your bad days and realise they aren’t that bad
glad to help pal
@@-M0LE appreciate the words of encouragement friend. Have a great week
This is one of my faves!!!! Love the pets and Clark scene at the end playing ball…. Love it guys thanks!!!!!❤
thanks bud
A scene has been badly cut in this episode. Clark's having a hard time because of the kryptonite, Pete helps him to stand up as he's wincing and the second after we can see Tom laughing 🤣
EDIT : Just watched the podcast, so glad someone warned you so you and Tom can watch it!
Michael singing a 'Five for Fighting's track... then Ryan and he doing it in Kermit's voice... My fav. part of this Talk Ville podcast lol!
Great to hear how they "made the magic."
Also would love for yall to come to the Creationcon in New Orleans!
I always laugh when Micheal says “damn…” 😂😂😂😂
Btw, Ryan's Kermit the Frog impression was spot on
Im up to almost season 5 and now that you mention the scene in Heat where they are all in the classroom ,it makes me think it might be the ONLY classroom scene I can remember from any episode so far. Any school scene has always been in the Torch , hallway , locker room , football field, swimming pool , boiler room , gym ,or outside the front entrance.
one of the best episodes in the whole show
47:15 - I liked Rosie's 'Thompson Twins' Lies, Lies, Lies rendition. One of my favourite 80's bands.
The funny thing about the reveal scene is when Clark stops the car and Pete notices it’s Clark doin it, he continues to step on the gas to run over Clark!😂😂😂
I have all 10 season on dvd . I always go back and watch the show before I hear y’all’s podcast. Love them all
100% Agree! On Clark stopping Pete’s Car moment. I ALSO SCREAMED out when I first saw that along time ago. 😍
Thank you 💗
Creepy opening and so cool everyone gave amazing performances this episode best scene would be that rescue of Pete much energy 🌹🌹 cute Tom broke character
Ah finally we see Tom without his hat at the end lovely
Yes "Duplicity "..I like that Smallville episode!..Clark has Pete as his new "trusted best friend ".even though Pete was very upset and shocked by Clarks secrets but really had to understand why Clark had to do it to keep his loving parents safe from harms way,!😎😎🍺🍺..
This was a good episode I like how it’s starting to become more the main’s to really get to know them and for them to know each other ☺️
Another great episode! Thx to the crew ❤
NOW: imagine an episode of Smallville Animated series where Lex is pres & Pete is VP; story writes itself 🫠

This. Annette and John were great, and i can't imagine Smallville without them.
Pete sees Clark stop the car.
"DAMN.. who's that?"
Lol
Props to Ryan for doing a great job! Keep it up
i like that kid
I loved this episode, especially how it ended. The scene with Pete and Clark playing basketball and the song choice was perfect when Clark jumped over him. I wish you would list/ review the great songs, soundtracks when reviewing the episodes. So many are still on my playlist today.
I got so used to Pete Ross in Smallville that I was thrown when he was a redhead in the Man of Steel movie. When I watch it I always catch myself thinking 'that's not Pete'. Smallville forms so much of my connection to Superman after the original with Christopher Reeves.
Thanks to this podcast, I'll think: "Damn, who's that?"
I wanna say the audio quality of this podcast is always on point.
Love listening to each episode 👏🏻
This show is hilarious. Finally got in sync with the rewatch. Awesome 👍
