RED (S2E04) with Writer JEPH LOEB: Clark Goes Bad, Red-K Mischief & Lana Sick of Clark's 💩 #smallville #talkville #season2 - Розваги
Tom pretending he doesn't remember kissing Kristin in Red the most famous kiss in Smallville history 🤣😂 love it!! Michael enjoying it more than Tom 😄🤣😅 love that also!! 😄
Yes Tom we believe you ... 😂😂😂
Feels like he doesn't wanna say anything that would create troubles for him at home. 😂
Completely agree. Nowadays you won’t see such chemistry and passion 🔥
@@Ryan_Wayne I’m pretty sure that’s it. He’s probably just trying to be respectful. But at the same time I want him to share 😂
Damn. Who's that?
The whole "Clark Kent shouldn't have those dark feelings" is, i think, a misunderstanding of the entire premise of the show. The whole point of Smallville is that Superman didn't come out of a box that way. We get the chance to see how a human being learns to be a person of virtue the quality of Superman. His ability to overcome the same dark thoughts that all humans have is why he deserves the power that he has.
THISSS! ⬆️
Excellent work
Agreed. One thing that gets forgotten too is that Clark is still a teenager (even though Tom is in his 20's). Teenage yrs are messy. Clark has to learn to manage his thoughts and feelings.
Only thing, Clark isn't a human being, but yeah. The premise of the whole show is how he got to that point. All the choices he made, his character, his upbringing.
To me, the red kryptonite brought out Clark’s Kryptonian side. It is like “nature vs. nurture.” Most of the Kryptonians we see on Smallville later on are not wholesome or good. Although Kryptonian, Clark was raised by the wholesome Jonathan and Martha Kent. Their nurturing usually overrides the Kryptonian side of Clark. The red Kryptonite released the darker Kryptonian side of Clark with no inhibitions.
"The principal backs down!"
"Kwan wouldn't have backed down."
Haha so true! I love how much they love Principal Kwan.
No man has ever wanted to change the subject more quickly than Tom being asked about that kiss. I think we all know there was something real there.
🤣
He is married and being respectful.
@@engaginglifesmoments7657he was also married back then.
Tom is married now, so it's so cute that he's actually making efforts to say "I don't remember kissing her", and Michael just having fun out of it 🤣🤣🤣
If you’re in a relationship that’s so weak you can’t ever talk about past experiences then I just feel bad for you
@Mramelanson i agree, plus that was like 20 years ago. So what current wife gonna do!? Ask for divorce for something that was 20 years ago before them xD i would say to her, good, get out from my house 😁😆
@@Jealod24it’s not weak to be respectful of your partner and current relationship lol
@@Rebecca-ei6zs there’s also nothing wrong with talking about past relationships 😂…. And in Tom’s case he was playing a character who kissed them. It wasn’t even real
@@Jealod24So, everyone here doesn't know that he was married at the time of making this episode, or at least soon to be married. He was in a relationship since before making Smallville. So, for him to even talk now about being attracted to co-stars back then and enjoying the kissing scenes would make him sound gross considering he was in a relationship at the time. It doesn't even matter that he's now divorced from his first wife, it would still sound gross now.
It's so funny how Michael keeps trying to make Tom talk about the kiss scenes and he just won't do it! LOL He's so respectful to his wife! That's sweet, Tom!
yea but CMOOOOON 😂
@@HeyTash 😂
Tom is a smart man!!
@@JH-yg5oo True True True. 😂
Oh right he's married, good call on his part 🤣
Talkville is literally the main piece of media content that I look forward to see every week
Same! Inside Of You is great as well.
Agreed! Only podcast I watch/listen to!
Same lol. Its like how we had to wait each week to watch Smallville
Same here. I cant wait each Friday to watch the show and the subsequent Talkville epsiode. Its a highlight of my week.
I do, too :)
The whole Clark kissing Lana passionately and Tom being like “I don’t remember”… that’s the memory of a man who is married and likes peace 🤣🤣🤣
I LOVE how Tom remembers The ANYONE ELSE line but not kissing Kristin
I'm sure he remembers but he just don't want to admit it because he's married
Yeah something’s up with that because he remembers kissing literally every other actress but Kristen… makes me wonder if he enjoyed kissing her the most but wants to keep it professional.
Every episode that involves red kryptonite is great. It always shows the side of Clark fans rarely got to see and its so exciting
I dont know if it says something about how boring regular clark is, but when you saw clarks eyes glow red from the red K, you knew it was going to be a good show
Yeah, and he got to say what was on his mind that he was affraid or shied to talk about. Like that one time Clark crashed Lex and Lana's wedding. That was funny
@@user-fc5mz6qh4g I think that was Crimson, Season 6.
@@Marvellous132 yes, it is. Clark was also under the influence of red kryptonite. That scene at Luthor's mansion and what Clark said it's been on the minds of the fans of the show. Like some fan would say to Lana
Just wait for insane Clark
The fact some people were uncomfortable seeing Clark being mean shows how invested people are in the characters.
People always get uncomfortable over nothing
The "ANYBODY ELSE!!" line was in nearly every promo for 2 or 3 months. It was good & fun. 😂
Lmao i remember that promo and I was 7 at the time but it played so much that I remember it
It's a fun line bc he never gets to like embrace his powers. He always has to hide them!
@@eliminator173 I was 12 and they also used it in the Smallville weekends promos lol.
@@gamecitysavior2910 my brother was around that age too and i remember him thinking it was goofy af lol
@@eliminator173 my baby sister was about 4 & I think she still remembers. 😂
The kissing scene was unbelievable (Clark's attitude, the song, the Clark black jacket, the dialogue, and THE KISS 🔥). Wondering if that customer ever got their drink 😅
No I didn’t!
And another side of Tom's acting as well
@@JustJames83 at least you got to see a kiss, lol.
Which song was that?
@@BrandonNinja Fisher - Breakable
This and Transference are some of the best acting performances on Tom’s part.
Yes🙂. Tom is really good, playing "bad/red Clark. Transference is one of my favorite episodes!
Agreed
The kiss scene is great, but I remember seeing bloopers from it & it’s hilarious to see Tom trying to be smooth as Clark but clearly getting a little embarrassed & shy when they’re resetting takes.
The blooper reel with Clark at Lex's house sitting on the therapy couch is hilarious.
Loved the blooper part where Tom did a Jim Carrey Ace Ventura impression lol ; “REEEALLLYYY!” 😂
Tom's acting in "Red" was masterful! Red K Clark always brings something extra! Loved it! ❤️🔥
I really love that kiss between Kristin kreuk and Tom welling it looks so realistic. How many times do you see a very good realistic kiss on a movie or show, not often.
The CGI effects for kryptonite affecting Clark just get better and better with each episode. The show always kept improving Every time. One of the craziest stunts is Clark knocking his dad making him hit the pickup truck. That was scary.
11:40 I love Rosey still trying to break Welling into saying that he enjoyed the kiss scenes lol 😆
Michael doesn't have to push... Tom's red face tells on him. 🫣
Thanks Michael for teasing him for us! I think Tom has learned to keep things to himself! 🤣
Tom is unbreakable
Lol Tom going with silence on the kiss. Michael's right, that kiss was on a another level.
Jeph Loeb is a comic legend. He has written some of greatest Batman stories ever put to paper.
Older or newer ? I mean recently or 10+ years ago ?
I so enjoy hearing y’all commentary. Red was an episode that stood out to me not only because of bad Clark, but also that bad Clark I believe came from deeper issues. Loved the leather jacket. Jonathan smashing the ring was well done. I would have loved a Smallville spin off series with Lex and Clark as roommates. Y’all rock!!
always appreciate ya Therese
The kissing scene is so iconic and fun.
I remember watching the bloopers and laughing a lot.
It was funny to see Tom and Kristin's shyness.
Other than that the best episodes of Smallville were when Clark used red Kryptonite and lost his inhibitions and feelings.
i always wondered how someone does not fall in love with that kind of girl. Plus she actually is really great and sweet woman, perfect wife material 😍
I find it funny how this episode involved Clark getting his ring and ironically tomorrow is my high school ring ceremony :) I always enjoyed how well Tom could twist Clark's personality. I love seeing the sparks fly with Clark and Lana and remember crying at the end of the episode because of how badly Clark messed up. I always found the effect with the red veins and eyes really clever. Thanks again guys! ❤️
you wanna yell at the screen "Just TELL her!" lol
Whats a ring ceremony? Are you saying your in high school now? Dang that means you were not born when the show came out?!
@@GTFCEO My dad introduced me to the show about a year ago and I loved it. Yes I'm in high school and a ring ceremony is a ceremony where the junior class first receives their ring and gets to take pictures :)
@@MegaToronto1 I did that multiple times 😅
@@aryanascardigan congratulations! My daughter has hers next week. So fun that you found the show. This is my second go around so once as a teen and now as an adult. Have fun at your ceremony!
1. Smallville had the BEST music of any show ever.
2. Jeph Loeb was an amazing guest! I hope he shows up for more episodes.
3. As a physical therapist friend of mine once said, "Motorcycles. All the power of a car, all the protection of a bicycle."
4. Some people were into Smallville for the superpowers, but some of us were there for the hot people and hot kissing. 😍
I went and watched that kiss scene after hearing the podcast today. Ain't no way that man doesn't remember kissing Lana like that. That was a damn authentic kiss. No way those two did not have a little more feelings than they let on in real life. He was hot, she was hot. I'm calling shenanigans on not remembering.
Right!?! 😂😂
Pete Ross figuring out it's the red kryptonite was great. Pete definitely being involved being a bigger part of the story was the start with this epsiode.
Last scene with Lana and Clark was so beautiful. Great ending with Oasis song "Stop crying your heart out"❤
yo they had a special talent for picking THEE right song for these scenes
I don't know why Tom Welling didn't guess that to be Ryan's favorite scene. During the entire talkville episode, Ryan has been saying that it was uncomfortable watching Clark in that IDGAF state of mind.
Michael saying that the kiss between Tom and Kristin seemed real is literally my reaction to EVERY kiss between them during 8 seasons !!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣and Tom who has no memories yeah right....😝Great "acting" between them ! 😂🤩
The kiss scene was intense and beautiful, also Kristins Outfit. the bloopers to this scene were hilarious. Tom made some funny stuff there and spilled some coffee on Kristin in that scene :D
I hope you watch watch the bloopers too. A special when you finished the season, maybe.
Great behind the scenes stories of Jeph Loeb, loved it.
I'm glad a fan made y'all highlight the music on the show cause this was one of the best things about Smallville! Smallville NEVER missed when it comes to the music especially during Clana scenes, "Stop crying your heart out" by Oasis was perfect for that ending! Like Tom said the music really elevated the emotions of the scenes.
For me, Red!Clark was always just Clark without inhibitions. He was always restrained because he had to keep his secret; red kryptonite just allowed him to do what he wanted, without consequences, like Tom mentioned. It's not necessarily dark, but he is unrestrained. Red kryptonite episodes were always a great acting showcase for Tom.
Lol he remembered the music in the background from his scene from his & Lana but don’t remember the kiss. 😂
Listening to Jeph Loeb talk about the show was amazing.
You can't help but just nod your head at the things hes saying about what he valued in the show, feels like he undoubtably had a huge hand in its success.
Sounds like he knew everyone and their dynamics as well, great storyteller
It's nice to see Clark's new confidence at some extent, but also scary to think about such a powerful being going rogue.
exactly!
we saw a lot of that in Injustice. It other universe it did get really bad, especially in that one where Tomas Wayne is Batman, whole world went to shit.
I’m pretty sure there’s a blooper reel of Tom falling over during that kissing season after he takes the tray away from her. I believe Tom’s exact words during the blooper was “I think I’m falling over” 😂 and then also spilling a drink after 😂 come on Tom! I’m sure you remember something lol. Great episode guys! Link to the blooper is here timestamp 1:50 ua-cam.com/video/CfYrICAWTMA/v-deo.html
Would love for them to react to these as well at the end of each season for the podcast, because I know that there are endless stories attached to each blooper. It's asking a lot but I think it'd be a lot of fun for them as well, like a traditional reel of bloopers attached to each season or maybe just an episode devoted to them! 👌
@@mattd501 haha, yeah. Maybe watching some of the bloopers will jog some memories too. Michael looked like he was a lot of fun on set. I love the interactions with John Glover
They looked like they had SO much fun!!!
I loved Michael's response to the kissing scene! Tom seemed a bit embarrassed. 🫣 Love, love, love this episode!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Tom Welling KILLED it in this one. Being able to flip the switch to "Bad Clark" while still keeping most of Clark's quirks is great. I love the episodes when Tom is challenged to play a different character in the same Clark body because it really shows how gifted of an actor Tom really is. 👍
Couldn't agree more🙂. Tom nailed it!
Like in Transference, when Tom had to play Lionel and mimic his speech pattern, and mannerisms to be convincing that it was Lionel "in there". A bit like Face Off.
Totally agree!👍
Transference is a great episode! Tom killed it! Rewatched it the other day.
One of my favourite episodes! Tom did an amazing job of mimicking Lionel Luther. Such a fun episode to watch.
The way red kryptonite works is pretty cool on this show. It gets rid of all of Clark's inhibitions and pretty much lets him do everything he thinks of doing, even if normally he knows it's wrong and wouldn't do it. And he's a young teenager right now, still growing. He's not yet the incorruptible man of tomorrow. He's a good person, but still a person with flaws.
I still love hot, it's a funny episode and does have a lasting effect, as he gets his heat vision this episode
1) Tom Welling's acting was a revelation. 2) Lana looked stunning and her reactions were realistic. 3) Some of the lines were absolute zingers. 4) It was such a relief to see Clark being free after being repressed for so long. 5) There were some funny moments like Clark telling off Lionel, and Jessie bumping into him on the corn field. 6) Clark was hot when he took control and asked Lana out - such a refreshing change from the bumbling shy frightened boy. 7) The wiggly dancer in the bar was cute. 8) Jessie was believably acted and the character is typical of a rebel getting in way over her head.
LOVE THIS EPISODE! Evil Clark/Superman is one of the more terrifying ideas in the DC universe. Good writing, AWESOME acting by Welling in this one and also Sam Jones… killed it!
amazing writing. loved Jeph
One of the best episodes ever! It's like the reversal of everything. Clark turns freak of the week and everybody has to save the town from!
1) At that point in the show, Red was the biggest ep they'd done and Welling's best acting to that point. 💯
2) The Clana kiss in the Talon was FIRE.
3) The line "Clark Kent and Lex Luthor. I like the sound of that" makes me smile every damn time.
4) The bar fight is one of my favorite scenes of the show.
5) Vortex, Heat, Duplicity, and Red may be the best 4 ep string of the show. Don't remember four in a row that on point.
I'm shocked they didn't crap on the hot tub scene. It was the only bad scene of the episode lol.
Anybody else?
At 11:27 ah man Michaels "Luscious" statement about Tom's and Kristins first kiss made me chuckle😄
I’ve started watching Smallville again, haven’t seen it since I was a kid. Finished season 1, I’m on season 2 now and this by far was my favorite episode. I love Clark showing off his bad boy side, it was entertaining as hell.
Was so good to see Clark being a badboy and I bet Tom loved playing this
indeed!
I'd think Welling would remember the kissing scene since he spilled the coffee on the tray all over Kristen when he first tried to take it out of her hands. I saw the blooper. He was like, "I can't believe I just did that," but Kristen just laughed covered in coffee. The actual scene was so smooth but I assumed that was after she changed clothes .
Favourite moment is Martha’s “this is silk” to the shirt hanging off a damn speedboat lol.
It was extremely smart to solidify the ONE thing that Red K does instead of just arbitrarily doing something different every time.
I love that Michael said out loud what we all thought watching that kiss between Clark & Lana, hottest kiss in the history of Smallville! The chemistry and the passion was off the charts! Tom turned red when Michael described the kiss 😂I'm sure he remembers it but isn't comfortable talking about kiss/intimate scenes like Michael is or he doesn't want to say juicy stuff on air cause his wife might listen to the podcast 😂Red is a classic episode, I didn't like that Clark became a jerk but I liked his confidence. It was entertaining to see a completely different version of Clark. Jeph Loeb was a great guest, thanks for this podcast guys I really look forward to it every week!
I love how Tom and Michael's views still match up so well with the DVD commentary for this episode! Especially the no consequences part, I totally saw it that way too.
THE KAL EPISODES ARE MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!!!!! EVERY SINGLE ONE!!! Welling is at his best and it shows his range...
"ANYBODY ELSE?" is, hands down, my favourite line and I quote it daily, usually for zero reason. It cracks me up every time. 😂
Tom was selling himself short in the bar scene when he said his delivery didn't work. I picked up on the Al Pacino / Gangster vibes first watch. Its evident that Tom has fun when playing red kryptonite Clark. Great episode
Oh Michael. I think we are now fully aware that Tom is not comfortable talking about any details involving kiss scenes. That said, I hope you'll have Kristin as a guest star for the last 2 episodes of this season.
Love that you brought on one of the writers!! Also shout out to Erica! Love hearing about how she changed the show because that character did.
Anyone who hasn't seen it: *GO WATCH THE COMMENTARY FOR THIS EPISODE*
It is beyond hilarious - with Michael not giving a shit and the entire commentary devolves into a beautiful disaster.
This is one of my favorite episodes and the commentary for this episode with Michael, Tom, Kristin, and Greg is absolutely hilarious and awesome 😂.
I remember it well; Tom's Gollum impression was hilarious and so was Michael during the scene with the guy who dies in the hot tub, saying 'How about move! Get out of the thing!' Lol
Jeph Loeb! What a legend! Such an interesting guy and some great stories! Bring him back for more!
I love this episode because it was the very first Smallville episode I ever saw. Yeah, THIS is what got me hooked.
Jeph Loeb. One of my favourite comic book writers ever. Big fan of his work
I remember feeling in this episode that seeing Pete step in to help out was the beginning of something, and the contrast with Clark's behaviour always reminds me that he really could just take over the world if he wanted, and how seriously he takes his responsibility.
One of my favorite episodes of the second season, Tom did an amazing job playing the bad Clark!!
I remember my exact words when I was a kid watching this episode when it first aired: "Clark. TAKE WHAT YOU WANT!" Lol. It was also refreshing to see Lana sick of Clark's BS. Because frankly at that point, we ALL were haha.
I just wished Clark would call Chloe and Lana on their crap when they would give him grief RIGHT AFTER he saves their lives (and they knew he saved their lives). The Jonathan Taylor Thomas episode in particular.
@@Paulafan5 Oh yeah, i remember that ep too! that was a great moment, because very rarely (at this point in the show), you saw Clark kinda stand up for himself openly, and justify his behavior (albeit, without revealing himself).
I have to say I always loved the dynamic between Clark and Lois. I really hope they keep up this podcast to get to those seasons.
LOVED this episode! It's one of my favs! It was fun seeing Clark with a different personality. You know things are going to get interesting when evil Clark shows up!
☕☕
True
I like how Ryan is getting more and more cheeky, teasing the others more, instead of just “also being here”
I love the Red K. Smallville episodes! But one of my favorite "alternate" Clark episodes is Season 4, Episode 1 "The Crusade"! Almost Terminator-esque vibes from Clark! Great episode! Thanks for bringing Jeph Loeb on!
Totally agree with Tom 2.5 🌹. It is a lot of fun to watch Clark being someone else, I think Tom's performance is so effortless in these episodes, comparatively. Maybe it is just me. Loved today's guest, he seems so knowledgeable, definitely would love to hear more from him.
Yes!!! First Appearance of Red Kryptonite Clark Kent Tom had The Ring!!🔴💥 Tom killed it, This episode will forever be a Favorite of mine lol made me wanna get a leather jacket 😂 Legendary Guest!! OMG Jeph Loeb!!! 👌 I will always love the Bloopers from this episode Tom and Kristen have that kiss moment and The cup spil while doing it 😂 Tom and Michael doing the Jim Carrey "Really!!" 🤣 And The Kanu Reaves "Woow Cool" I Remember Smallville Night's North Carolina was Gold repeating a hint of that, This Episode 🌹🌹Half! TGI Wednesday!!!! What an episode!!! What a great job Tom did portraying red K Clark! Love that ring!! This podcast is the best!!
youre the best!
I love Michael's constant call back to Pete Ross' casual "damn" 🤣
It was so great seeing Jeph Loeb. I read many of his comics and is one of the few writer/producer-type credit names I recognize. Thanks for the podcast and the dedication gentleman. See you next week.
Every Red Kryptonite Episode is my Fav. Clark / Tom acting skill is killing it. So fkn awesome. 👍
Red kryptoninte episodes were always sooooooo good. Absolutely favorites! 😎
This was another really fun and classic episode of season 2. Really loved how the red k was introduced through the class rings, neat concept. The special effects of the kryptonite being glowing red eyes/red veins was cool and still holds up well today. Iy was also great seeing this other side of Clark, as it showed that he wasn't perfect, had flaws like the rest of us. The actress playing Jesse, Sarah Downing was great too.
Michael is correct about motorcycles. I grew up in a family that road bikes all the time, my granddad, my mom, my aunts, cousins, and uncles...the only time I ever recked was because the car wasn't paying attention and didn't see me. Thankfully I lived to tell about it. But after that I stop riding. It messed with my head mentally and this was back in the late 90s early 2000s in my early 20s. Now a days it seems there are more bad drivers on the road. There's no way I would ride today.
I was not expecting Jeph Loeb! I’m a huge fan of the comics he’s written, Superman for All Seasons, Batman: Hush, and of course, The Long Halloween. What a great guest!!
One of the best episodes in Smallville history.
Top 5 easily
Red is definitely in my top 10 favorite Smallville episodes of all time. As a matter of fact any episode in which Clark is on red k or acting out of character is my favorite episode. Episodes like Exile, Crusade, Transference, Unsafe, Splinter, Hypnotic, Labyrinth, Crimson just to name a few.
My favorite thing about this red k episode is that it reveal the dark truth about Clark. That there is a part of him that would easily abuse his powers and that he secretly liked it.
Just for Roseys FYI. Motorcycles filtering through the lanes is far safer than sitting behind another car. Getting rear ended is a huge problem on a bike for obvious reasons. When done safely, moving through stopped traffic is very safe, as no cars are going to be lane changing when stopped anyway. It keeps the rider safe, frees up congestion, and to a degree reduces emissions as the bikes aren't sitting there idling (albeit a small change there) Not to mention, idling bikes get very hot, so it helps extend the life of the motor, and keeps the riders undercarrige a bit cooler! Thanks for looking out for us out there! And to the other riders, split lanes with courtesy!
Very true! Been rear ended on my bike in a state that doesn't yet support lane filtering. Wasn't fun at all. Love the drivers that keep an eye out for us, and riders that dont abuse the privledge!
NICE Tom wearing the ring
This episode was so funny! My favourite line from Clark after beating up those guys in the club “ANYBODY ELSE” I use that line till this day 🤣
haha Pacino level?
@@TalkVillePodcast oh yes Pacino level to the max haha
Michael I love how real you are 😍 You're not rude or blunt but I love how open and honest you always are. 😍
I liked the way they found out how Clark is affected by the red meteor rocks. I didn't like the side story about Jessie, her attitude and her father.
Loved the final scene though, Lana's and Clark's broken hearts, and the cool song at the end.
I'd say, 🌹🧐
the whole Hot Teacher scene was Hilarious....well acted.......and when Clark says "anyone else!" his face was funny and I remember laughing at that scene , sorry Tom. LOL
Definitely need Jeph back on the show. He provided so much insight into the inner workings of the writer’s room, and stuff we never get to hear.
How about "Insurgent"? Writing two slam dunk episodes this season, pretty good...
@@jerodast Just watched that one a few weeks ago. It’s so good!
Definitely rolled my eyes a little at how Alan Miles (lol) apparently insisted on following formulas like "Act 2 there MUST be a scene where the local millionaire feels obligated to involve himself in goings on at the highschool for farmboys." Explains a lot.
I LOVED this episode, one of my faves. Bad Clark is always a treat😂
Thank you so much for answering my question, so interesting to hear that Tom had John’s go-ahead to give him that big shove into the truck, because that was one mighty shove!(So funny calling it a truck because for me it is a UTE!😂😂 🇦🇺)
Jeph Loeb…how awesome and what a lovely person, so enjoyed listening to him😀💕

You had a great question. I loved that Tom actually remembered that part of the episode and had a genuine answer for it. Also it was neat to hear your voice and hear you pronounce your town. I say it completely different. With an American accent it it totally different town. LOL
Oh thank you amanda! It was such a thrill and made my day, well, night actually as it is now 11.41 pm over here!😂😂🇦🇺💕
Ahh, glad you wrote this comment since I could not understand "ute" from just listening haha.
KAREN!!!! ❤️❤️
@@TalkVillePodcast yes! It is me! This is the apple part of my name😂😂(I live on an apple orchard 🍎)
This episode is one of the top 5 BEST of the show for me! The episode I've rewatched the most in the show it's so awesome
Been listening to some Sun Spin on Spotify and I gotta say whoever picked What Are We Here For as the intro has a great ear for earworms... especially that intro. The whole song is amazing but that intro melody is such an earworm it's often in my head all day and then I start singing the "woo hoo ooh ooh oooh." LOVE the pod!!! ALWAYS HOLD ON TO SMALLVILLE!
The red Kryptonite and its ability to turn Clark bad was also explored in "Superman III" with Christopher Reeve and Richard Pryor. Ironically, those evil Clark sequences were also the very best parts of that not so great sequel... besides Annette O'Toole as Lana Lang when Clark visits Smallville again, of course.
They dropped the ball in that movie though because it wasn't Red Kryptonite, or I should say they didn't MAKE it red. The bad guy in the movie tried to make artificial Kryptonite but got one of the ingredients wrong. It was still green though.
@@PlumbPitiful Yeah, that's true. I was remembering it for the fact the stuff acted the same way as red Kryptonite, bringing the dark side of Clark out.
TOM CAME THROUGH LIKE A TRUE FAN, TODAY!🌹🌹 "RED" is one of the BEST episodes!! THANKS SO MUCH GUYS... and TOM, THANKS FOR WEARING THE RING! 😉
I enjoyed that Tom really acknowledged his good performance . Sometimes he is too hard on himself...
This might be the best podcast episode yet! Super interesting listening to jeph
Ryan favourite scene is always so INTENSE. Michael and Tom don't mess around and I love it! Tom have to catch up once again. Lucky for Tom there is so many episodes and seasons to catch up.
This podcast is such a joy to wait for weekly and such a walk down the memory lane! But also such an interesting way to catch up with old fellow fans and see opinions lol
I for one am fascinated to see that there are still those who view Clark/Lana (aka Clana) relationship this favorably 😂I remember enjoying it a lot in the first two seasons when I was young, then getting very much turned off by it in the next two and finally wishing and begging for sweet relief of their break up by season 5 hahaha And all this suffering ruined whatever I *did* like about them in early years in hindsight. (thank god for Lois and kudos to good man Jeph Loeb for so coincidentally talking about *exactly* why 😂)
I didn't even remember there was a kiss in this ep, let alone a supposedly 'Best Kiss'? 🤣Very different opinions over at this side of fandom. All the best romantic memories of the show are coming from a very different place to me 😂😂 It's also so interesting to see different generations of fans, some changing, some not, some new, and different reactions, too. Because those who have binge-watched all 10 seasons recently definitely do not have favorable thoughts or reactions towards this couple (but maybe that's how it should be, considering the story). But that's the great thing about this slow rewatch, we get to experience it all again at the same, original speed and develop and 'grow' with it again!
This podcast gets me through medical school. ❤ I look forward to it every week. It’s my escape.
love it. glad we can
What a great episode! This is definitively a 🌹🌹🌹!
