You forgot to mention the most impressive aspect. Dre has only owned that car for less than TWO MONTHS! From bone stock to mid 8s on a stock motor. The 2jz may finally have a competitor
SMH.. he mentioned exactly what i did in regards to BMW Engine modifications. BMW engineers are required for speeds and gains that high to ensure Entire car stability and performance. including Tires and Rims and aerodynamics. R.I.P to that young brother
Couple questions 1. Why not do a d.i. delete? They said d.i. starts to blow compression out the injector sides at high horsepower 2. If the head is warped would the cam journals need to be line honed? 3. Why not use stronger material for the seats to prevent them from getting beat up again? 4. Would these b58/s58 heads ever benefit from solid lifter conversion for less valve float? I have yet to see it be done
1 - I am not aware of anyone having an issue with DI in a BMW blowing out at high whp. I think if that was the case, diesels wouldn't exist 2- the head was not warped, it had some low spots near the chamber 3 - installing a stronger seat doesn't combat the reason it was getting beat up. It got beat up because of valve float. I don't care what kind of seat you put in there, it won't survive it for long. 4- I don't see the correlation of a solid lifter to have less float. It simply needed a better valve spring to get away from the float. It was making over 1000whp with a stock valve spring!
I like this Style of Video a lot, afterhour workshop Vlog because of necessary.
I liked that a lot
had to tell the story! Thanks!

I‘d even say 2jz is overrated at this point.
