Looks like a great way to pull the engine and trans, a lot easier than disassembling the front and fighting the small space trying to pull it. Take care Mr and Mrs JC and stay safe!
J Moffett seems to be a great channel! Building trailers and Cummins repairs, right up my alley! Sell that frame all together someone would put a 57 cab over body on that 👍
if i keep watching your channel im gonna end up having to buy a gradeall/telehandler...lol i wish you were closer id come grab the bottom fender corner piece and the plastic splash guard off that cab.
Happy Friday! Busy this week JC. Nice work disassembling that work van. Always cool to see the mighty GradAll doing the heavy lifting. Great video catching J_Moffitt and co. too! Work safe, enjoy your weekend Doug@ the "ranch"
Really enjoy your channel, no childish B/s streight to business. My kinda guy. Keep up the good work sir. 🇺🇸🏴 Oh and can you give me that link to your friend's channel please
Not to sound negative..but why chop shop a running service truck ? Maybe i missed that in the video idk . I believe its worth more as a unit than parted out..at least it would be here
Well sure that will make Chuck a happy camper. That just kills me when I see things like loose bots on transmissions or when they are missing and you know that is more common than you would think, I dont get how guys can not check to make sure they put all the bolts on and tightened them down, like how long does it take to have a look. Whats even worse is most people just assume that the transmission shop or the guy at the local garage or that shade tree guy put it all back right, but honestly that drives me crazy to see that, like take some pride in things Ah well , made short work of that, one project down another... wait how many is that to go...lol
Fun fact, the bolt that looks like it's missing from the bellhousing doesn't actually exist. I've grew up a GM guy and still am I suppose but I won't own a 6.0 after watching my dad pour money into one, and getting to swap the original engine out for a low mile one from a wrecked truck after it walked a cam bearing out.
I have 4.8s, 5.3s and 6.0s in my fleet. They all have cam issues in fleet use. Hard drivers and heavy loads destroy them quickly. I lucked out this year with a deal on a new 2020 Express 2500 with a 4.3 v6. Absolutely the best gas engine GM still puts in a truck.
The Gradall jealously is real!
first AND second !!
I got cold chills when you went under to cut the cable without any type of safety
idk but all the noises your gradall made when shutting down was funny and pleasing.
Love your Wife's comments. Thanks
Yes the exhaust manifold bolts on at least the 6.0 and also the 8.1 common problem due to engine flex under load

Talk about a smooth operator. Great content as usual
i used to mount these bodies in a plant in atlanta and believe me these straps do break
Gradall is indepenseable.
I run a body shop that fixes a lot of those beds. They are pretty heavy. That gradall is a beast.
Always enjoy your work
Gradeall: used to test the tensile strength of everything you forgot to disconnect
Your just a good guy J.C.
I just did a 5.3 with 4l80e swap into my 84 cab and chassis c30
Love Jessie’s shifter!
A lot of those parts look familiar!I have never had a van, but that teardown looked like a day in my life!

Very nice! That is the easy way I would say. Great job

Happy Friday Brandon!
lakesideranch happy Friday Doug!
Gradall and ratchet straps: When a hammer and duct tape just won't do.
Great video J.C 🙂👍 Glad to see the powerplant get some good use. That engine will be a nice upgrade for that square body crewcab.
I like how you work 👍👍
Be a good frame for a ole Coe cab type...restoration
if i keep watching your channel im gonna end up having to buy a gradeall/telehandler...lol i wish you were closer id come grab the bottom fender corner piece and the plastic splash guard off that cab.

That was fun 👍
I'm glad your strap didn't break while you were under it 🤠
Idk if youve ever worked on a service body, they really arent all that heavy. The strap is easily rated at 4x the weight of that box.
Sounds like all the common gm work truck problems
Not to sound negative..but why chop shop a running service truck ? Maybe i missed that in the video idk . I believe its worth more as a unit than parted out..at least it would be here
If it were worth more whole, that is how I would have sold it. It had running issues and rust issues.
Would have been a good work truck and tool hauler.
truck had oil pressure issues. the buyer of the engine was going to go through it and put it in a square body chevy.
Really use what u can save the scrap yard

too many more to count! i just keep plugging away one by one......maybe they will be done before i am DONE!

I wanted that van lol
lots of people wanted it but no one wanted to pay for it.
@@j.c.smithprojects That's why I never messaged you about it because I didn't have the spare cash. Love your videos though thanks you for that
many others were not as respectful as you.
If I am only allowed one tool on a job, it has to be a telehandler.
The ultimate cherry picker!
A truck doesn't stand much of a chance around J.C. if he decides it needs to come apart...
So glad i do not live in the rust belt
