- Substantial in the pocket, but that equals substantial in the hand. Surprisingly great ergonomics for a massive folder, though not quite as choppy a monster as expected.

Great video! That knife there Mike, is an EDC of mine. It's in my backpack 24/7 and pretty much goes everywhere I go. I liked it so much I got another one. Thinking of one in my BP without the clip, and one to pocket with the clip but, just like with the Espada XL, it actually works better for me without the clip. The knife is so large that all I have to do i slip my fingers in my pocket. And it stays put in my pocket really well! Without the clip, I can deploy the knife in regular and reverse grip with ease! Try it. I'm not a big fan of the kukri but, I am a BIG fan of the rajah 2!!! Hope all is well Mike and again, "great video" here!!!
One of my favorite. I carried for a while i went back to the vaquero xl unless im going in the woods.
I used to carry the g10 Espada but mine is xhp so its to easily replaceable.

Worst thing about this blade is the pocket clip, it just gets in the way for chopping. I took it off, much better without it. The funny thing about the rajah 2 is it actually stick out of the pants quite a bit more than the Espada Xl, if that concerns you opt for the Espada. On the Espada, the pocket clip is positioned in a way that it sits in the meat of the palm, it really just adds to the security and comfort. On the Rajah however, the pocket clip rides under the pinky and ring fingers, it just slides around and makes everything awkward

If the folding knife is equipped with a thumb plate, you don’t need to do this.
In addition to considering the length and concealment of the blade, you will also consider whether you can activate your defensive equipment before seeing danger to facilitate facing the next situation.
You can sort of "hover" the blade in your pocket, unclipped with your hand on it but still mostly concealed, and it will just deploy as you draw it, very consistently.
Just my opinion, but I think the Rajah ll is a way better weapon than the XL Espada. The locking spring force on the Espada is too strong and difficult to overcome in a hurry. The Rajah ll is a handful, but is still on the right side of normal to be deployed in an emergency.
The thumb plate position also makes for easier and more consistent deployment.
I missed my window of opportunity to get the Rajah I, it's discontinued. It's just the fancy version of the Rajah II, like the fancy version of the Espadas. Again CS does not disappoint. :)
There is some knock offs out there with not the same quality! I was doing the wood test, not even hitting that hard and the blade nearly closed up on my hand!
Yikes! I was just watching the Dutch Bushcraft guys test a knockoff and the lock failed really quickly. Too dangerous to use.

The idea of a big folding kukri is cool, but the Rajah II doesn't work for me. I'm used to carrying large folders and it feels like a brick in my pocket. All the weight feels like it's in the handle, which is the opposite of what you want for chopping. At least the ergonomics are good.
After carrying a Voyager XL for the last 2 weeks or so, I'm really loving the feeling of carrying a large knife. In truth, I do feel like I'm carrying a pocket sword like may have stated.
Because I have the Tanto and it sits flat against the back of my pocket, I was wondering if the curves on the back of some of these knives makes it feel more bulky in the pocket because of it?
It's most noticeable if you try to have anything else in the pocket with these wide folders.
No offense intended but I think it is a terrible idea to use the spine of a folding knife as an impact weapon.
If it's not a back-cut with a sharped false edge or clip point, the "quite" in Esgrima Criolla is usually intended as a swat at the opponent's blade to beat it aside and then instantly cutting as they react. Definitely better with a bigger blade (8-9" or more), as it requires length and mass. Probably another move that came from swordsmanship.
