You’re really stepping it up here. Nice to see a full, start to finish, custom paint job! Came out really good! Suddenly, I miss my garage.. Custom paint is what I do during the winter months.
Mate, another great vid. Very informative, and a great way to show what the products can do, and what can be achieved with a plan and following each step to completion.
I remember watching my Dad when I was a kid do this like 45 yrs ago. He also did coral and woodgrain and photo transfers . I was fascinated ! Thank you for the memories
Holy moly that thing pops! That textured under shadow contributed a lot. I didn’t like the paint splatter on the car’s base color though. On the graphic looked great, I guess that’s just me but overall it’s a huge yes for me!
Thanks … for years now I’ve been looking for a “green” . A candy green one that is warm, very warm. So why is yours so warm? Also I never use black, you know energy killing BLACK. I was taught (l taught myself and I did study color theory in college.)to use a very very dark green, blue or violet. So dark that it appears to be black. But next to a contrasting color and could be very very vibrant. And I like POP BAM AND ZING! Eye candy yes indeed. Thanks buddy.
Great look on the finished product, excellent videos! What’s your background? You have a great grasp of the technical side of paint but also great artistic sense?
candy2o mixed with 4050 will shave when sanded, however it is not recommended as the sanding scratches will be visible in the final finish, even if subsequent coats are applied as the edges along the sanded area will be a darker value. We never sand candy2o before applying the 2k clear. Thank you.
Its a drying system made by BECCA to enhance air - surface contact during the booth's cure cycle, thank you. beccainc.com/product/flash-dry-rapid-drying-system-waterborne-solvent-paint/
So one thing I noticed while you were spraying the flake effect coat....there was a slight flair back over the entire panel that just got Painted, are you dusting on a more uniform layer, or does that blend the overlap?
candy2o is never scuffed prior to paint. No Createx pain requires scuffing prior to clear. This paintjob was done in a heated booth so after a cure cycle, it was ready for clear about 4-hours after application. It painting in an open environment longer time is required, which can be up t and exceed 48-hours. There are no time windows for when to top-coat Createx paints, including candy2o, can be top-coated any time after the paint thoroughly dries., and can exceed 48-hours drying before clear without having to be scuffed. Thank you.
Please make a test panel before using this clear. When applying a solvent-based clear, we most often recommend a catalyzed urethane or epoxy clear. Thank you.
Total sprayable volume (primer, paint and clear) was probably in excess of 5 gallons, with most of the volume coming from the AutoBorne Sealer and 2k clear. Thank you.
I'm haveing problems with Createx paint drying to fast. I got some Createx retarder and put a few drops in it did help i just wanted to know what are proper amounts i should be using. Thank you.
5607 Retarder is a very specialty product, seldom recommended, to assist flow and reduce tip-dry when painting in arid conditions. Add very sparingly, perhaps a drop per 1oz. 5607 can inhibit drying and curing if added in excess amounts. Thank you.
Please watch our how-to make a candy pink video, ua-cam.com/video/DZ9abknPwO4/v-deo.html, which is best applied over either 6013 Silver Sealer, www.autoborne.com, or W360 / W360 Metallic White, wickedairbrushcolors.com/pearl-and-metallic. Thank you.
Could you give me some advice when to pull tape. Do you always pull right after you spray? Or should wait a certain amount of time? Do you remove it dry? I struggle with this all the time. I'm always pulling paint or getting jagged edges.
Pull tape after paint has dried matte and tack free, but before it has fully cured. With Createx paints, tape is usually removed 4 - 12 hours after application, but sometimes longer depending upon technique. Using a quality tape that doesn’t leave adhesive residue helps keep this process clean. We use 3M and FBS tapes. Thank you.
Hello. Always spray at the spray-gun manufacturer's recommended setting. For our HVLP set up with a E4 cap and 1.2mm tip, inlet psi is 18. Believe the range is 16 - 18 psi. We usually use the higher end of the recommended psi settings. Thank you.
It will work, with a different texture effect. Here, the longer layout of plastic wrap flowed well with the long, straight lines of the vehicle. Make a test panel comparing the two effects (scrunched vs. stretched) and see what you like best. Thank you.
Love that stencil at 33.04. Did he say TH1 ? That effect for me looks so not contrived in its randomness. I prefer that. As with the clingwrap job so expertly done. I hate when stencils or effects are like uniform or follow an obvious pattern as in laundry bag effect. That's just so damn obvious
love your videos and the tech detail you go into, but JMHO the flicked paint ruined the job it looks like some one spilled paint on it. maybe kept inside the Graphix could have looked better .
Love the Paint. One thing I always wonder about what if , God forbid. there’s a small fender-bender which requires a partial respray? I’m talking about the job of matching and the extra cost to the insurance. Just saying…….
Loved the small tech tips that you would never think of like keeping dust and dirt off the hose. Small things that save big headaches.
thanks for watching and letting us know the tech tips are helpful.
I just wanted to paint my PC case with rattle cans! What am I doing watching this whole video and subscribing?! Immaculate workmanship 😊👍

That’s pretty sexy and badass!! Great job!

Awesomeness 💯

Can you shoot the metal flake aerosol over a factory black base then shoot the blood red pearl over it with your k2 high gloss clear to finish it.
can you sand Candy 2.0 ?
I mixed it with 4050. and it has been dry for a few days.
I was thinking of using a 1500-2000grit before 2k automotive clear.
candy2o mixed with 4050 will shave when sanded, however it is not recommended as the sanding scratches will be visible in the final finish, even if subsequent coats are applied as the edges along the sanded area will be a darker value. We never sand candy2o before applying the 2k clear. Thank you.

Who makes that stir stick? Black plastic with holes?
What are the tubes in the top corners of the booth with the holes for?

its for blending, thanks
Can I use urathane as top coat ?
Yes, a catalyzed (2k) urethane clear is the recommended top-coat for Createx paints for automotive paintjobs. Thank you.
How long ( time ) was it from final coat of candy until it was 2k cleared? Have to be under 48 hrs because you can’t scuff candy?
candy2o is never scuffed prior to paint. No Createx pain requires scuffing prior to clear. i have some duplicolor paint shop lacquer clear leftover, can i spray this over createx paints?
Please make a test panel before using this clear. When applying a solvent-based clear, we most often recommend a catalyzed urethane or epoxy clear. Thank you.
How much material did you use total on this car ?
Total sprayable volume (primer, paint and clear) was probably in excess of 5 gallons, with most of the volume coming from the AutoBorne Sealer and 2k clear. Thank you.

Createx paints including candy20 are used in this project as they’re much more durable with better adhesion compared with HoK. Thank you.

What pressure do you spray when using your LPH80?
Hello. Always spray at the spray-gun manufacturer's recommended setting. For our HVLP set up with a E4 cap and 1.2mm tip, inlet psi is 18. Believe the range is 16 - 18 psi. We usually use the higher end of the recommended psi settings. Thank you.

Would scrunching up a plastic bag achieve the same affect

So sick. You are really good man
Thank you for watching!
how much would that cost ??
the total cost of Createx paints was about $500 sprayable, plus ~ $300 for 1-gallon of the 2k urethane clear. thanks
Pinstripe really pops the whole thing
Thanks!
