Your body can handle more stress when young then as you get older. For injuries you need more rest and maybe special nutrition or immobilizing the injured area for a time. I've used glucosamine and chondroitin for months at a time. It did nothing for me. I read that it doesn't work for everybody. So, if nothing happens that's something that happens.
Yes, that is correct. There is no magic pill. For some it works wonders, others it may not work. This is due to a variety of personal variables (age, activity level, weight, genetics, general health, etc)
You are right, I've read multiple studies, some people report that it does nothing. I had to take it for six months before the pain started to go way in a significant way in my knees. The same goes for turmeric, some people say it helps with inflammation pain in their knees and others report no pain relief.
Helps with arthritis but what they don't tell you is that it blocks youe insutin from working. It took gloucosomine for years, but now I am prediabetes because it didn't let my insulin work. BE CAREFUL!
I can not take most brands. 30 years ago it was made from cattle thorax. Now it is made from a really cheap waste product, crustacean shells. I am allergic to crustaceans. So I have switched to mixing Knox gelatin into shakes and meals instead of taking pills.
Never understood why the cartilage break down with wear. But you are told to exercise, more wear to fix it ??? Makes no sense. In fact my left knee is now bone on bone. It does not bother but once in a great while. A few mg of neproxin for five days as prescribed by my PCP and I am off and going again with out pain.
Excess wear and tear (overuse) and/or injuries speed up the degeneration of the cartilage (OA). Moderate level of exercises (and safe ones) can provide a protective benefit for the cartilage.
Great question, it is a bit complicated as many personal factors can affect the level of blood sugars (i.e. age, family history, etc.) This also depends on the dosage, quality of the supplements, and other medication interactions. Research has shown some mixed results about it affecting sugar levels. Check with your medical provider for guidance regarding this.

@ipink Lady, thanks for your question. I would recommend first starting with the beginner exercises for knee OA. The exercises for a torn meniscus and OA are quite similar, as both focus on the hip and knee strength to minimize impact to the knee joint. I would first start with the beginner OA exercises and move on to the intermediate level as you feel you need more challenge. The exercises generally should not cause any pain other than the normal muscle pain you would experience after starting a new exercise program. I would also recommend exercises in the pool, it is a great way to strengthen the muscles, and improve joint mobility without the impact. I hope this helps, let me know if you have any further questions! 🙂
I'm taking the glucosamine chrondrotin with msm,I've only had 2 doses so far. I am supposed to take 2 after breakfast and 2 after supper,I'm just wondering if 1each time would be ok,it's killing my appetite. 😊
Did I hear it right? Weight-bearing exercise is good for OA? My doctor advised me to avoid weight bearing exercises. I was told to swim and bike, instead.
Yes low impact weight bearing is good for your joints. Things like weight training will help build and maintain muscle around the joints to minimize undue stress and impact to the joint.

Hello, please update your condition.
@@gs2gs Hello, I still have been having much pain with my sciatic nerve on my left side hip. I tried a bottle of thee pills and it did not help much. I am now taking caliogin in the form of gelatin in my tea. If you have any secret remedies, I'm all ears. Best of luck and happy Thanksgiving to you. Lobstah
@@lobstermania4025 hey lobster, I was just at Whole Foods and someone recommended extracted turmeric capsules for my knee pain (I got this pain from intense running) which were right next to glucosamine products. They had success with Cucurmin, a turmeric extract for their fingers/hand pain. It may be worth looking into. Good luck 👍
@@StephenVTran thank you! I will try it. I used to run but now I walk 5 miles a day . I wear a hip and back brace which helps a bit with the pain. I'm getting old.
@@lobstermania4025 some things i have researched and found help my arthritis (knee and hip) devils claw, cissus, pomegranate, pineapple/bromelain, high fibre diet, black lentils, soya beans, wheatgrass powder. I hope this helps, best of luck with it.
I hope this will help with my knees (patellofemoral painsyndrome). Thank you!
You are welcome. With PFPS, you will need to work on any muscle imbalances as well! Check with your Physiotherapist to identify those deficiencies and work towards improving them!
Hi brother did your patellafemoral pain syndrome is gone now or not after taking this medicene...iam asking this because i am also having this
@@pritamrajput5034 Together with doing my gym exercises more careful, I'd say the pain is less but not gone. At least I can do squads now with some weight.
Prolotherapy 👍
@@ForeverTributesNL can i ask is prolotherapy an effective methodology to heal joints, ligaments etc
Is this better than the combination of hyaluronic acid with hydrolized collagen and resveratrol? For degenerative osteoarthritis.
Any specific brands you recommend?
It's all the same.
That good. Asies on Glucosamine. Effectiveness?
I had a partial knee meniscus surgery with ASC 3 months ago. My question is could I take glucosamine too? My knee is still hurting. Thank you for the reply
Hi there, this may help. But you will need good physiotherapy rehab and guidance as well to get better.
I'm doing the PT rehab too but my knee is in pain. Thank you for the answer.
I think problem is that body has no way to distribute nutrients into cartilage, so it can give only light antiflam./pain relief!
Helps with arthritis but what they don't tell you is that it blocks youe insutin from working. It took gloucosomine for years, but now I am prediabetes because it didn't let my insulin work. BE CAREFUL!
Not true. You were probably already pre-pre-diabetic. Insulin resistance is a real problem in todays society.
Take it at night while fasting
Where can I purpose that Glucosamine product
@@rohaneeabbas8474Amazon
I can not take most brands. 30 years ago it was made from cattle thorax. Now it is made from a really cheap waste product, crustacean shells. I am allergic to crustaceans. So I have switched to mixing Knox gelatin into shakes and meals instead of taking pills.
Does this affect liver or kidney?
Can we take glucosamine and chondroitin during breast feeding
From what age can we start taking these tablets??
Don’t waste your money.
It's side effects?
My lumbar spine isn't normal the L4L5 are intact and cause so much pain.
What is the proper time to take it
Never understood why the cartilage break down with wear.
Loud music ...good content
What do you say about the risk of diabetes , with long-term use?
Great question, it is a bit complicated as many personal factors can affect the level of blood sugars (i.e. age, family history, etc.) This also depends on the dosage, quality of the supplements, and other medication interactions. Research has shown some mixed results about it affecting sugar levels. Check with your medical provider for guidance regarding this.
Hi everyone.is it right to take 2 tablets at the same time?
For me its "easy" because glucosamine/collagen gives me so much pain in stomach! So i cant take it even if wanted!

Thank you for the break down, been curious about this supplement. What is your take on black seed oil? Can I get benefits in pill form or strictly have to drink the stuff and keep in the fridge/cooler? Thanks❤
Hi, we haven't done a deep dive on black seed oil - but we will keep this in mind for our upcoming videos!
😊BSO is excellent. Ive been taking it since 2014.

Not sure, sorry!
Hi Liz just came across your exercise videos and wondered if you can suggest set of exercises for arthritic knees with torn meniscus in both. Thanks

I tried it and no real effect. I lost weight - roughly 20 kilograms and that worked. Mind you my left meniscus was removed which hasn't helped...
That's the key there too, exercise and losing weight is super important than just purely relying on supplements!
Thanks for the info.😌
Hi I have knee arthritis what Glucosamine suppliment will buy Glucosamine sulfate or Glucosamine chondroitn ?
I'm taking the glucosamine chrondrotin with msm,I've only had 2 doses so far. I am supposed to take 2 after breakfast and 2 after supper,I'm just wondering if 1each time would be ok,it's killing my appetite. 😊
Bonjour,
est ce que ce produit est bon pour une personne diabetique ou qui a un glaucome ?
Did I hear it right? Weight-bearing exercise is good for OA? My doctor advised me to avoid weight bearing exercises. I was told to swim and bike, instead.
Yes low impact weight bearing is good for your joints. Things like weight training will help build and maintain muscle around the joints to minimize undue stress and impact to the joint.
What about the combination of glucosamine chondroitin and msm
Really good
Watch out for plantar fascitis (if you're predisposed).
Is it good for spine disks?
Yes, there is some research evidence that supports helping reduce pain and improve function with arthritis and disc herniations in the spine.
price?
In which country did you buy it?
It’s all over 😂
Does this help for ACL/PCL tears or issues?
No, there is no studies or evidence that we have looked into for ligament tears.
