I was 13 and we lived in Lebanon then. 🔰A neighbor friend upstairs, 23 years old Sue, handed me an album, Waiting for the Sun. I was hooked the minute I heard Jim's voice, and Love street hypnotized me. The Doors have always filled my world. We escaped the war in 1975 for France. I was 20. 🎹The day we left Paris in November 1976 for Canada, I was waken up to the soft music 🎵 of Strange Days played by neighbors. Beautiful moment.
I was listening to the Doors on headphones on the bus to law school and a college age girl next to me asked who I was listening to. She had never heard any music from the Doors but liked it. The Doors music is timeless regardless of the generation since it is true art and thus eternal.

@midnight sunshine So different a time in America then. We look here and long perhaps in disbelief Doors/JM and his all around appeal ever really existed looking around at what's out there now.

Is this what happened to Ms. Courson? I was curious and considered to learn more, but for some reason was hesitant and decided not to. And to now know what you described... it is sad. And that really should be accompanied by a pause. It is going out on a limb, and not to contribute to any esoteric nonsense, but might this be one of the only ways of how either, described as deeply connected to each other, would have been able to overcome the tragic loss of the other? Although, having now read more, despite many not really seeming to scrutinise it much further than the surface or romanticising it, it would seem rather messed up a relationship to me. As is the nature of such an intimate experience and therefore complex undertaking, one could say. That she is described as having encouraged his creative writing is wonderful. A certain amount of emphasis, on a known encyclopaedia, is devoted to the distinction as an open relationship. In other words, one of these inane constructs where an open mind is claimed and not seldomly pretended but egotism ultimately is reflected? Then there is the idiocy of narcotics, such as the one killing both, respectively them killing themselves? Allowing idiocy to take over, both of them. Infuriating.
The bass, the piano, the drumming, robbys odd guitar playing (seriously, how does this man find a riffs for the songs?!), and jims lyrics and melody, its a masterpiece.
Love this song , it suits Jim's soulful voice often soft melodic at times, I like photos of him and Pam, it must have been amazing to have lived in the 60s.
Go to Laurel Canyon to the Country Store, have a coffee, they lived across the street and I believe he wrote this iconic song there. There's a plaque in front labeling it "Love Street". Lots of history on Laurel Canyon, Great musicians lived in the area early in their careers! Peace 🕊️.
It was. I was 12 when Soft Parade came out. I listened to it often at my friend's Jeff's house. Though I was a bit on the ting side, turning 13 in 1970, I had two older sisters so I was exposed to all the good music at an early age. It was magical. I still miss those innocent years.
It is both amazing and beautiful just how many albums and great songs this band put out during their short time before Jim's death. The Doors will be remembered fondly by music fans long after we are gone. Great before their time, avant garde.

She also took me to my first Grateful Dead show when I was only 6 years old. Can't get enough of brilliant bands and such gifted musicians. I miss that :)
The simplicity and beauteousness ofJim's lyrics, the harmonious rhythm of Krieger's guitar, which sounds profoundly placid and tranquil, Densmore's steady cadence and the superb fills and rhythm of Manzarek, which feels like a mellow, yet passionate voice; all this makes ' Love Street', IMO, one of the best love songs to be ever recorded.
I read many years ago about what Jim said about the Jefferson Airplane. He saw them in concert and said "they were good but lacked the delicate inner balance that The Doors have". I think of his statement often when I listen to Doors songs. I believe he was right and what a cool observation for such a young man. Rest in Peace Jim, Ray and Pam.
The Airplane were all about wild, loose improvisation exemplified by the combo of vocals from Grace and Marty Balin. Yes, the Doors had delicate, inner balance. How lucky we are to enjoy both. Great times.
We are in total agreement, thanks. Back in the early 70s when pot was enhancing the music, two songs opened me up to the greatest of the all, the doors. When the Music's Over, and Love Street. It was hearing something so different and more lovelier than all the other great sounds around us. I have never changed since.

A legend & pure genius. No 4 people could ever reproduce the influence these guys had on society. The Beatles, though a differnet type of music, could also fall into a category such as this, along with Buddy. The DOORS are number 1. Peace, Jeff T., PGH, PA

Heard the Doors first when i was 13 yo drunk out in the streets singing and sharing headphones on a portable cd player 25 years on it still sounds so good its my favorite Doors song i love how he sings it like its effortless , what a talent truelly our loss he died so young yet look what he left and was still only 27 yo soul of a true poet add three masters of there chosen instruments we got one fuckin original sounding band like no other

I remember when I lived in Paris, I used to do tours, I always showed where jim used to hang out, where he wrote his poetry, where he lived 2:51 and of course where he's buried. RIP Jim.. To me you are a true legend.
I always thought Krieger's guitar part in this was so subtly psychedelic for the first few notes, with the minor, yet not exactly classical, slight discord, then lapses into familiar, pentatonic drunkeness, to complete the phrase. The major chorus creates an impression of triumph, and Manzarek's piano harmony adds a touch of class. Morrison's wistful lyrics seem custom-tailored to add literal meaning to the tune: Someone took acid, went out for a drink, then found themselves on Love Street, and wondered longingly about a woman who lived there. It tells a beautiful story that is introspective and outgoing at once, a somewhat bittersweet tale of young love in a magical era. Like in all Doors songs, genius theory combines to create an intellectually tasty morsel for the listener's mind to devour. I wish America produced more bands as epic and legendary as the Doors, my personal favorite band of the 60's.
Finally, someone noticing Krieger in this song. I remember being a teenager and trying to learn this song on the guitar by myself and people didn't even realize this song had guitar in it.
Back in march 2015 i met the unique woman who i dare to dedicate this song we are separated after many troubles my family hate her her family hate me vecause we were teenagers and we made mistakes because we wanted very different things honestly keep loving her michelle really i'm still loving you my green eyed angel
Jim took her for a travel, trough love, poetry and suffering. Dead was their destination, beautiful and simple, frightening but unavoidable. They became poetry.
No...Jim Morrison's spirit loved me. Believe it or not ...I was so spiritually involved with Jim that his spirit came to see me. Scared the shit outta me. He came as a red outlined body. Hair outlined in red. I said JIM? As it came down the stairs. When I said JIm it stopped six feet in front of me. I said well don't fucking scare me !! And the red outlined spirit of Jim morrison disappeared. I was 21 and he must of heard me singing his songs from heaven. I will be glad to meet pam though in the afterlife. Out of respect I think "he" was her responsibility almost. Like he was a child she had to take care of. The drinking had to of been awful. I wonder how much money if any she got for his poetry books. I know she died right after he did. Paris What a shit hole. The fake French. Real French..whatever ...I think they may of both been killed by a "French family" group. Alcoholism ...drank to death at 27. Yeah right. Then she died. All of it was for money. They promised them both a way out of the business..move to France. What a terrible conspiracy. Honestly I think pam lived after Jim. And she faked her death. Who knows how she really died. All I know is I had a lizard named Jim and one named Pam. Jim died within a year because he barely ate. Pam the lizard got enormoulsly fat and Jim was a fighter man. But Jim died the lizard. And Pam the lizard bitch lived for 16 years afterwards. Just saying Sorry I rambled on but does anyone else think something happened that was more than what they're saying? I do

Behind Jim's, difficult life __ his inner heart was on full display __ with this great song ( love street). Thank you Mr. Morrison.
A legend & pure genius. No 4 people could ever reproduce the influence these guys had on society. The Beatles, though a differnet type of music, could also fall into a category such as this, along with Buddy. The DOORS are number 1. Peace, Jeff T., PGH, PA
Jim was such an awesome poet and musician ❤
He was a poet and boy did he know it
I wish I could find a man who loves the doors as much as I do
my nickname in school- the LIZARD KING- played their songs quite often-
Here I am
BONJOUR ....pouvez vous me dire qui est avec jim à 0.40?😉
Hello....i love you. Here i am
I have the same problem with women liking the Doors. Found out through Ancestry that Jim Morrison was my 8th cousin, wish I was 1% as talented.
He had a great life however short. He lived it to the fullest and yes you made an impact Jim with all your talent and sharing it with others. Thank you. Xx
A very catchy song I love this song!! Thanks for the song Jim Morrison!!! Love the video!!!
This and the "Crystal Ship" are the two most "late 60's songs" that have ever been made imo.
Quelle belle chanson. Je l'écoute depuis les années 70. Et c'est toujours le même sentiment. 🎶🥂🎼
Jim, thanks for the music and the memories. You’ll never be equaled.
Ray on keyboards is what makes the doors so good. Jim was awesome .
imho was a almost perfect group. i like drumming also
"Love Street" me leva de volta a minha adolescência e juventude, as namoradinhas e bebedeiras com os amigos..... Viva The doors!!!!!
Brasileiros estamos em TDS os lugares 🇧🇷
A beautiful classic and melody from Jim Morrison. He was an awesome musician 🎶
Heard the Doors first when i was 13 yo drunk out in the streets singing and sharing headphones on a portable cd player 25 years on it still sounds so good its my favorite Doors song i love how he sings it like its effortless , what a talent truelly our loss he died so young yet look what he left and was still only 27 yo soul of a true poet add three masters of there chosen instruments we got one fuckin original sounding band like no other
OMG it's db Cooper

Jim can never be loved enough--beautiful being...
Очень трогательно ! Спасибо , ДЖИМ ! Одна из лучших твоих песен !
I remember when I lived in Paris, I used to do tours, I always showed where jim used to hang out, where he wrote his poetry, where he lived 2:51 and of course where he's buried. RIP Jim.. To me you are a true legend.

WOULDN'T that be NICE!
The Divine Comedy has a lot of songs like this One. Awesome
Lo mejor que existió, jamás va a haber otro igual a Jim 😭
Exacto!!!!!!!!! Será en rey por siempre
I wish America produced more bands as epic and legendary as the Doors, my personal favorite band of the 60's.
well stated.... listen to hyancinth house after this. to me its a coupling coda to this song.
Shut up ya pretentious prick. Its just classic music.
@@jonnyallins6337 why try and shun a man for using his imagination towards a song? Youre the pretentious prick.
Finally, someone noticing Krieger in this song. I remember being a teenager and trying to learn this song on the guitar by myself and people didn't even realize this song had guitar in it.
Not enough romance in today’s music - so sad.
october friday 13th in 96 this song was my playing in my head over and over again while tripping on lsd. One of the best days of my life
Never heard a voice more satisfying than Jim Morrison's...rip
This song never gets old......"She lives on Love St.".........timeless love song!
Jim was such a great writer he would put u at the place make me feel im there. Long live Jim
Одна из моих любимых,,, давно слушаю Doors,,, Всем рокерам здоровья и удачи в их творчестве ❤️🎸🤘🤘👍
They became poetry.
beautiful
Exactly. Beautifully said :)
Bullshit. They became dead from drugs. People saying 'beautiful' and shit to your comment. Morons. The lot.
I'm ignorant? So, they didn't die from their bad habits? LMFAO! You pathetically IGNORANT waste of life.
Oh BS. Life is not like that. Only drugs are like that. It ends with early Death.
Jim Morrison’s only true love 💓
No...Jim Morrison's spirit loved me. Believe it or not ...I was so spiritually involved with Jim that his spirit came to see me.
Scared the shit outta me.
He came as a red outlined body. Hair outlined in red.
I said JIM? As it came down the stairs. When I said JIm it stopped six feet in front of me. I said well don't fucking scare me !! And the red outlined spirit of Jim morrison disappeared. I was 21 and he must of heard me singing his songs from heaven. I will be glad to meet pam though in the afterlife. Out of respect
I think "he" was her responsibility almost. Like he was a child she had to take care of. The drinking had to of been awful. I wonder how much money if any she got for his poetry books. I know she died right after he did. Paris
What a shit hole.
Just saying
Sorry I rambled on but does anyone else think something happened that was more than what they're saying? I do

Ive been a fan of the doors since 1983. Someone at the high school where i went was singing light my fire at the graduation practice. That caused to me get the doors greatest hits and ive been a fan ever since
