- I almost ended up with screen replacement of my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) for flickering issue and revealed myself the solution (possibly the temporary one) worked out to me, just wanted to share with you all so you don't spend $$$ on this.
Apologies for such long video... hope this channel helped you out with fixing the flickering problem!

I have a MacBook Pro Mid 2012 and it starts to Flicks last 6 months. After installing clean my MacX it fully stops doing that. Thanks a lot. You are amazing.
This worked for me on two separate 2015 15in MacBook Pros exhibiting the same behavior. When there's motion on the screen it's fine but when there's no motion on the screen it's glitching.
Replacing the display ALSO worked to resolve this, so it either isn't a board issue or is a minor board issue where some displays tolerate whatever's weird just a little better than others, but displays are several hundred dollars now so this trick is invaluable in trying to save yourself or your customers some money if they're down with a wonky workaround.

Mine is macbook air 2015 which had the same issue. I brought it to Apple store and they told me I need to replace the screen which cost 600 plus tax. Luckily I did not get my macbook repaired. Now watching your video, I can fix the issue myself. Fantastic. Much appreciated bro

The right side of my Macbook Air 13 inch (2020) model suddenly had this grey area and suddenly started flickering overtime yesterday. As of today (before I found this video at least), the flickering spread across my entire screen. I WAS ABOUT TO CRY. I Googled and tried out every possible solution there was and decided to give UA-cam a shot.
Tried the CleanMyMax X solution and it worked! (for now, I'll update again if it goes haywire otherwise). The grey area is still present though, but the flickering is gone (if anyone knows what the issue could be/knows how to fix this grey area matter as well, please let me know).Thank you so much!

Oh my god, thank you so much!! I generally only had the most problems only sometimes, but my screen was flickering always when i watched Netflix in full screen, and this method also helped for that!! I also switched my "filtertype" to the one you use, because i had mine on grey.. This worked. thank you, thank you, thank you!!

A clean installation of Mac OS downloaded from Apple store, through a bootable drive solved the problem for me.
Thank you for sharing this information it’s work for my MacBook Pro the flickering and vertical line is gone.
I applied the Color filtering on my MBP 2016 on 06-Mar-2024 and it worked well. I have dual boot up of Windows

THANK YOU! My issues was pretty much identical on a 2021 MacBook Pro M1 with MacOS Sonoma 14.0 Beta (23A5337a).
Color Filters fix did not work for me though. I had to change the Refresh rate from Promotion to 60hz and it's all good. Not ideal but good enough for now.

Turning OFF "Enable filters" fixed the issue on my iMac; it seems any change from defaults on Apple OS leads to problems.

What?! Am i missing something. This is a solution to the flickering perhaps, but now everything is black and white! Why is there no comments about this here!? I don't get it. NOw I have no colour. Which is almost as useless as occasional screen flickering
Perhaps, you missed to change filter drop down from “greyscale” to “colour tint” or based on your choice of adjustments - colour tint works better than rest of it. Besides, once you’re in colour tint adjust the “colour” “Intensity” manually and see the results

This happened to me as well.. My problem is it starts fading into white and flickering.. when you move the mouse or watch youtube.. it goes normal.. Anyone knows what issue does this actually relates to?
It's most likely video driver going into power saving mode issue, and the hardware probably the transistors are just old and doesn't hold charge well. Not much can do about it except to open some software (in your case opening a youtube page) that uses the video driver putting it back into full power mode
Very cool and cost-saving technique. I'm gonna give it a try with my flickering iMac Mid-2010. I will share with you the final results.

Thank you so much! Luckily my mom wont kill me now. Also i noticed that personally for my macbook pro only certain colours stopped the glitching properly, so do try all of them. I ended up with a shade of amber red.

This is the start of screen death after few weeks entire screen will die so make sure to activate screen mirroring so then you can you normal moniter as second one.

My screen stop flickering when I open cleanmymac app but the enable color filter did not make it stop. The screen is flickering at the bottom half. Please help.
disable automatic graphics switching in your settings in the battery and it will fix everything

Which version of MBP are you using? If it's the same version as mine then probably you'll have to check the GPU, sometimes gpu might be dead... also try connecting with external monitor and see if it works without any flaws..
What version of mac os do you have? I run mojave and I can't find "colour filters". I also have flickering since yesterday, although my flickering is a little different than yours. On my old external vga display there is no flickering.
I use macOS Big Sur 11.2, I still have this flickering issue and this filter helped me out get rid of them always, but once you enabled this filter this will only work after you login to your system, it won’t work on the login screen... once you login, the filter will enable its settings and you’ll get rid of this annoying flickering forever. @@vinsyscorp7870 Hi, i use macOS Mojave 10.14.6 and having the same flickering issue, couldn't find the colour filters option to enable. Searched for 3 hours but no luck. DO you know how to locate that colour filters option. By the way, it is not a problem if you don't know about Mojave.

I have macbook pro 2017 model with MacOS high seira and it doesn't has any colour filter..how can I fix the same issue as your ..need your suggestions

You need to upgrade your macOS from seira to big Sur, then you try applying the filter that I suggested, hope it’ll work

Hi Bro, which iOS version are you using with your macbook? I could not find Color Filtering Option in my setting. I am using macOS version 10.14.6
My Screen doesn’t flickering whole time, it starts after I use it for a while and it only happens at lower half of the screen. Anytime it starts flickering , I have to reset my mac.
You must have macos big Sur or later to have this filter
My MacBook is giving off a neon color, no flickering or lines, it happened right after I punched the keyboard part of the MacBook really hard (in my defense I was angry) anyone help!

I got solution!!!!!, I was facing same issue since 6 months, I tried many things for fix but nothing helped out , finally I just connect my MacBook to external monitor that’s it, I hope it will help for you too my friends 🙂
yeah, it'll work for sure but you'll miss the feel of retina, you won't get the viewing experience as compared to the original display

No permanent solution for this, no matter how many times you replace your screens, these flickering are always present for these older MacBook, two things are very common for these MacBook
1. Speakers cracklings
2. Screen flickering
No permanent solution yet from apple :(

I experienced this on my new MacBook Pro m1 chip and I replaced the MacBook twice buT it still haven’t stop
Not sure, may be a software glitch for new MacBook, but I suggest to check the gpu before you replace your screen for the next time, gpu may be the culprit sometimes

I recently bought the iMac and everytime I go Disney + it loads twice before the actual page comes up.
Try switching the browser.. for instance, try opening the page in chrome than opening it in safari
How to boot mac if getting this then
