Listen, I have a Civic with an evap leak took it to two shops; one being the dealer in Springfield, Missouri and they could not fix it. Still leaks, I don't know how dangerous that is cause I only smell fuel at low speeds or idle at a stop sign.
Could poss be your fuel filter within the furl pump if ya smell gas. Apparently mine and ? 01-05 dont have filters n in time, the tops on them crack. Just a thought.
were does hrv 2020 purge valve located? i have this emission show up on my scan tools said evap system code p0441 incorrect purge flow and evap system low pressure purge line performance both are permaent cant clear it
I have a 2011 Honda CRV SE. Experiencing P0172. When I smoke test, a significant amount of smoke comes out of the canister under the drivers headlight. Is this normal?
@@twisted2746 No, it was my in-laws car they had just bought and they asked me to look at it. Later they decided to take it back to the dealer who fixed it for them.
Can you do a video and tag me in it or send it to me about how to go about replacing a 2016 Honda civic ex gas door. There seems to no videos on this. Thank you
Hello, thanks for the well done explanation video. I have a Civic 2010 1.4 i-vtec that dont have any error pop-up but everytime i Open the fuel cap it blows/sucks a lot of pressure. I think that some valve is not working. What valve should i check first? The valve on the charcoal cannister or the valve near the intake? Thanks 4 the help.
Usually an EVAP problem will only cause the vehicle to not pass an emission test. The only EVAP issue that can cause engine problems is if the purge valve is stuck open which can sometimes cause the engine to run badly.
There was a strong fuel odor in a Honda with the engine shut off. It has a P1456 code. What's likely the cause in this scenario please? I must say this is the best explanation I've heard on the evap sys. I always wondered where the gas vapor came from. Some have said, I thought, the vapor came from unused gas in the engine, but you say it comes from the gas tank.
Hi there, is this valve could make clicking noise when the engine is fully warmed? I have Accord 2007 V6 there is clicking noise coming during driving when I push the gas, this noise only comes when the engine is full warmed. is this could be from this valve? PLEASE HELP.
I got a 99 Honda CRV and I got gas fumes. My first code was a Eva bleak. And I accidentally erase it and I've never gotten back since then. But since then my car is run like s***It backfires all the time.I've replaced almost everything on this.D*** thing. And I still can't get the car to run right? And i've burned through a tinker gas in thirty minutes to an hour and i'm not leaking gas anywhere on the ground
I bought a smoke machine & in the rear I'm guessing the vent valve showed smoke. Should i use a scanner to close it some how.. I thought was to close the front purge solenoid
I RECENTLY REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP ON A 2006 HONDAY ODESSEY. AND STARTED GETTING THE P0457 P0497 AND A P0463 CODES AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHES AND VAN GOES INTO LIMP MODE. WHAT CAN IT BE. BEFORE I GO AND TAKE OUT THE FUEL PUMP AGAIN SOME ADVICE WOULD BE SUPER COOL.
Evap codes won't cause Limp mode. The P0463 Code is a Fuel Level Sensor “A” Circuit High, which may be a wiring issue. I would check the plug at the fuel pump and the wires.
Find someone who can read the codes can probe electrical wiring (that sends the voltage to the prge valve and charcoal canister solenoids or who knows these Hondas very well???? Or you can start throwing parts at it like purge valve, then charcoal canister?????
Me too I have emissions coming up took it to 3 mechanics and did 2 smoke evap test passed both checked purge valve and hose all looks good got a new oem gas cap maybe a charcoal canister needs to be changed
I have an evap code on a 2004 Pilot and tracing these hoses is a nightmare. I'm trying to get up the courage and the patience to go and locate the leak lol. Anyone know a way to cheat so it passes inspection? wink wink
One of your plastic lines that go from Your canister to your purge solenoid can be punctured. Especially if you were 4x wheeling your vehicle or ever ran over a huge Boulder. They are located underneath the car there's usually three or four of them. Good luck I hope you find it.
I replaced the fuel cap with an OEM model. If that was the problem should the error code/engine light go off by itself or is there a way to clear to engine light? Great video by the way!
1000 Thanks for the video. You can look at manuals all day long but it takes just 15 minutes or less for someone to show you.
The best explanation I’ve read/watched. Short and sweet. Thank you
I like the way he explained it straight to the point. Thank you.
Learning Lessons and Solutions. Greatly appreciated good sir.
Very informative and well-explained. Great Job 👍
After filling tank, check gas cap message comes up. Once it down to 3/4 of a tank (approx) message stops. Have you ran across this before?
Been huntin my evap leak for years... already replaced the purge valve, and gas cap
Experiencing this right now on my 2019 Type R. Hopefully the dealership will find where the leak is coming from!
What was the symptoms just got p0449 on my 2019 fk8 too
Let us know what the dealership said
Thank you for putting this together!

can a leak cause P0420 code? That is the only code being thrown.

If you have capless tank, and it says the fuel tank funnel is bad

The vent valve is normally open until power is applied. A good scan tool can be used to close it or or voltage can be sent to the pins.

the O RING on the cap could be worn. take it off flip it over and put the O RING back on .

Can you find leak without smoke ?
You can check all the lines for any physical damage, but it can be hard to spot the leak.
I can’t figure my Evap leak out neither can my mechanic and it won’t pass smog so I’m fucked.

It will eventually but may take awhile. It is best to clear it with a scan tool. Automotive stores often do it for free.
