Growing up in Wilmington NC in the '80's we had a friend who would always bring WBLS and Kiss 98.7 mix tapes back from his trips to New York and this song always was spoken of by him and when we heard it for the first time it blew our minds and till this day it still does....
The Clubs up here in NYC and JERSEY where the ground breakers for Club bangers... mostly after coming from over seas. WE also felt they where 🔥when WE first heard them!
My Lil brother favorite song he was murdered1984 took me until last year to actually listen to this song without 😢 now its an HONOR.. R.I.H. Larry walker AKA Lil Larry Gone never forgotten.....
@@newgenerationyoungmenace5166 Sorry for your loss. Lil Larry had amazing taste in music. Must've been a break dancer, or knew the B-Boy world in some fashion. God bless you . RIP Lil Larry.
No doubt my condolences to you and your family. I grew up before and that era. This song I rocked it every chance I had . Peace to all in 2021✌🙏💯 Stay Safe Family.
I used to drive trucks in the 80's when I was 17...and in the Bronx we couldn't get LIR. Whenever I had to drive to Farmingdale to LaZboy warehouse....I'd listen from the time I could tune it in til I lost it. Great memories
I'm a kid from the 80s and heard this song for the first time playing on XM radios Alternative station in March 2019- This is an Obscure song that should be on every 80s mix playlist.
the premier R & B radio station WBLS's Frankie Crocker used to play this on the radio back in the day it's where we heard everything new &/or cutting edge & we'd make crappy mix tapes from the radio
Yo, this was probably the greatest song ever made to breakdance to back then. Wasn't much of a dancer myself but enjoyed the music. More power to you.✌✌✌✌
Now we are definitely going back with this club classic...to this day, I still love hearing this song. Great song to do exercise to...thanks for posting!!!!
Oh man! Can't believe I found this! First time I heard this I was in a club in the Bronx called the DEVIL'S NEST. Loved this song. Really miss the 80s! Totally a different vibe back then. Damn I'm old lol.
I remember the video. For that time you could describe it as soft core. It played on late local TV in nyc. Guys in bondage and the singer with the wipe 😮
Remember hearing this on a field trip to Boston when I was a kid back in 1985.asked my mom what a dominatrix was,and she slapped me and asked where I heard that word.ahh the good old days.
I totally forgot about this! Definitely a popular club song back in the 80s. I just heard it a little while ago on Sirius XM's 'Studio 54' channel, so I had to come here. Ah, the days of my youth.
I bought a Best of freestyle hip hop in like 1984 on cassette tape and this song was on it along with about 8 others including Jam Master Jay by Run DMC. I used to play the cassette tape every where I went in my Walkman. I had No Clue' what a dominatrix even was back then lol 😂
I was a dominatrix and a slave sent this to me! I then played it on my NYC radio show. That was fun. It turns out I know the people who did this. That is cool. They did a good job. Uprated.
In Cleveland it was mostly Nine of Clubs, sometimes Aquilon. That's back when there were dance clubs. Honestly hope life after Covid helps resurrect that.
You can catch the track on other vids - the music video is on youtube ... Dominatrix has be working on that major reissue which will be out shortly on Phase / Traffic Get on Down. Including unreleased trks from 1984, ++
Watch Jayquan the foundation with Arthur Baker. He talks about Street Wise, Party Time and Tommy Boy records and the hits he's produced. This song by Ivan Ivan... classic.
