I feel this song in my soul. Since I was 17 years old I have loved this mix. I'm 43 and it still hits me right in my chest and almost brings me to.tears
I was becoming a teenager in brazil.. had been separated from my mother, didn't talk to my dad for about 3 years, and I was using tons of drugs!! Damm, I remember listening to this song in my huge headphones at night hoping for better days!! And they became! Today I got my own business, family, I'm taking good care of my mom, gave her a house to live in! tears are dropping to my keys at this very moment.. For decades I had wiped these memories! the song brought it back in a good way! we can always win, as long as we stop whining and keep trying to do better than before every time! this song is emotional!!

I can’t think of an agglutination that could fit this sentence any better than how you worded it. Talk like this to the love of your life fellow UA-camr.
No one will probably see this comment, but, if I ever got to listen to one last song before I die, this would be my choice. Somewhere on the hill, watching the last sunset on a warm summer day, with every memory of my past going through my mind, and with this song playing on my headphones...In a way, this song always reminds me that life is too short. So make the best out of it! Keep the good memories alive and just enjoy every second of your life. No matter how hard it gets. We all go through hard times, it's sad but it's just how it is. It's life. Edit: Your health is the BIGGEST treasure you can ever have. If you are healthy, be happy and be thankful! “A healthy man wants a thousand things, a sick man only wants one.” - Confucius.
Bro !!!! I was in 8th grade summer at the time. My parents took to a search light lake mead long story short. I was sitting up against a mtn watching the sunrise above a river and between to mtns and literally thought to myself i can die here with this song playing
I've had this song very close to my heart since the mid 90s or whenever it had first come out. Orbital was at their prime and all music spanning all genres during this moment in time was amazing. It was such a great time to be alive. For me the way song lands is a little bit different. The way the songs starts out so subtly and ends the same way, lends to me the idea that life can be anything you want it to be, if you pay attention. So here we are just doing all our normal everyday tasks and everything seems so boring. That could be sort of the subtle vocals in the beginning. But if you stop and pay attention there is an entire life to all the things in the world and if you take a moment to appreciate that you will realize how beautiful life really is (this is when the song is at its peak) and then eventually you stop paying attention on that level and walk away and go back to "the grind" and that's when the song tapers off. With having a song with you for so long, it ages with you over time. That's what always made "electronic" music so great to me. We would have have shamelessly called this "techno" back in the day and nobody would have batted an eye. Anyways, I hope you have a swell day and lots of people saw your comment. Sometimes when we stop and pay attention, the internet isn't such as shyte storm the way we make it out to be. Good people are usually silent. ✨ 😌 🌸 "The older I get the more I realize that age doesn’t bring wisdom. It only brings weary. I’m not any smarter than I was thirty years ago, I’ve just grown too tired to juggle the lies and hide the fears. Self-awareness doesn’t reveal my indiscretions. Exhaustion does." -John Teller (Sons of Anarchy)
I remember first hearing this in the Mortal Kombat movie when I was a kid. The feels of the moment of Liu Kang defeating Shang Tsung and bringing victory to earth realm, the cheers of the children as they waved their flags and my parents watching the movie with me will always hold a beyond special place in my heary along with this masterpiece. :')
This song is the definition of why a good build up is priceless. After all, when we’ve reached our summit we realise it was the journey that truly matters
I remember watching Mortal Kombat about a year after my brother died. That scene where this plays, and Liu Kang's dead brother comes to him and says 'dont worry, we'll meet again' had me in TEARS. I still think about that scene all the time. Yesterday was the anniversary of his passing, and I had this on repeat all day. R.I.P. Thomas. I'll see you on the other side, buddy.
What is amazing is that this comment section is FILLED with people speaking of incredibly significant emotional responses to this song. This song has clearly resonated with so many people and it has continued to endure for decades as a breathtaking source of catharsis. This song might be the perfect example of the power of music.
I do not want to downplay this at all, but I literally had a life altering moment and the second song I searched was this and I felt everything I needed to feel.
2:01 when bass comes in, you are magically teleport to the 90s, being kid, playing MK2 on arcade, eating icecreams, no problems, no bills to pay, life was good back then, life was good ... so much nostalgia to this song ...
Today a hacker hacked my friend's account and posted as his mother telling me that he had an accident and is not longer with us. An hour later he "came back from the dead". I'm grateful to that hacker for making me appreciate my friend more. Your friend will continue to be with you for the rest of your life... you will meet Alex again. I sincerely hope you're doing well. From the two sentences you posted, you seem well adjusted. But hit me up if you need someone to talk with.
THE song that was responsible for me getting into techno/electronic music… and thank god for that. EDM has been the source of so much joy in my life. Plus, this song still slaps.
This has to be one of; if not thee most iconic songs ever created from the 90's. I remember coming home from a Rave in 99 called Cloud 9, my head on the glass sitting on a NJ Transit Train coming home from the Bronx and watching the sunrise come up on the first train out of NY. Ever since that morning; this song takes me back there and for 10 minutes I'm young again.
@@sk1ppy2000 I'm an old man these days even though I might not look like it. I haven't partied since getting sober 18 years ago. When I left the scene it was an amazing place filled with love. People were looking to connect for one night and become what they couldn't be in their normal lives. The people moved like water; we were all connected to one beat; one harmony. It didn't matter if you listened to Trance, DNB, Jungle, or Happy Hardcore; we were all there to be the best versions of ourselves. I don't know the scene now; I'd like to think it's still like that. To know Rave is to love her, she's done amazing things for people and the world. Be amazing. :)
These are the stories I wish I could have experienced. I’m 32, I remember my version of the 90’s vaguely but it’s slipping away the harder I try to hold onto it. Much like a handful of sand. I wish I could hear the real stories of being in NYC or other sleepless cities. So sick.
This is the most positive comment section on UA-cam. There's hope for the internet. Very cool to hear all the positive feelings and experiences this song brings out.
I'm very sorry to hear mate. glad she got to hear this tune before she went to the other side. she will always be watching over you guiding. this song will be a great way to always remember her
wishing i would have done the same for my dad who passed recently. he always liked all my trance, progressive, housey music i played when we were around together and he always called it "beat music" lmao. i swear he was born in the wrong generation, he was a natural raver and loved rhythym and tribal stuff. he eventually became too crippled with dementia, but for a while i was actually considering taking him to one of the dj events and venues i was always frequenting just so he could the music the way it's supposed to be experienced.
My wife and I were kids in the 90's. I connect with this song and my wife didn't even notice this song... She doesn't think it's that great. I proceeded to read the comments to her for two hours. In the handful of comments, this song saved 4 people's lives, and helped countless others transcend into higher states of existence. It was amaizing how I was literally reading one after the other and she was just laughing at her own inability to understand the depth in this song, and I was also making fun of her. Good times. This song always wins.
Music like this is a reminder, it takes you deep within yourself & what you see / feel in that moment assures you, you are much more than flesh & bones. There's something beyond that. The beauty is that we will never know what that is exactly..hope, faith, call it whatever you like there's something deeper than we currently understand. Music like this reminds me of that. Like a connection to my soul that I only know I have when in that moment. I have no religion but in some moments with music & imagination combined with the sensations I believe in that moment I'm eternal in some way, a part of something much bigger with more meaning & purpose than before thought. The power of music I guess but this piece in particular, it's like a calling to your soul from nature I love it.
Believe it or not , this song has actually helped me when I was at my lowest, and this song gave me strength to carry on , I can’t explain what it was about the song that helped Me , but I know listening to this helped my mental well-being, take care everyone and best of luck to everyone

oh my god, that's beautiful and sad at the same time. This was actually the song I played on repeat on my way home the last time before my dad passed away.
Man.. When i smoke and hear this in headphones, I cant help but to fall into a deep nostalgic trance and think about my life and how i may never get to experience those things again or see certain people ever again. Makes me wish i could have recorded it all to play back.. Then when the beat drops it makes me think about how happy i am with my life now. Helps me not take the little things for granted and just make the most out of NOW

I was 12 years old when 1990 rolled in. I experienced the 90s as a teenager and I still think it was the best decade ever!!!! The 80s ruled because I was a little kid and the 80s cartoons are the best ever, but the 90s were mind altering! The music, the videos, the feeling of that decade is something I sometimes can't explain to people! Good times!

I was listening to this song in my car in late February 2020 at a red light when a negligent driver hit me out of nowhere. Luckily I was okay, but that incident has been heavily triggering my anxiety ever since. I was afraid to listen to this beautiful song again... Well, it's 5 months later, and I just listened to it for the first time since that day... I watched this video. I cried. Healing feels so good. Loving this planet and its beautiful creatures feels so good. This song feels so good.
I know how you feel, I remember listening to this whilst in rehab after being run over from behind whilst cycling and the driver didn't stop. 5 weeks in hospital and lots of surgery and I listen to this song with feelings mixed. Hope you are ok as I am.
That was oddly one of my greatest fears. To be listening to your favorite song...and then get into an accident....and (assuming you survive) have the crash imprinted on the song somehow. So whenever you try to listen to it again....you relive the crash. A freak accident just ruining your favorite song. I'm glad you recovered.
Ive been on the edge of taking my life all week. Today was going to be my day, and by chance i Heard this song and was transported back to being a child/teen. This song used to remind me of everything I loved about being alive. Sounds absurd but hearing this stopped me from hanging myself on my garage.......... lifes short, find the beauty

The beginning of this song gives that feeling of resolving an age-long conflict and taking one final look and making peace with the past. Once the bass kicks in, that feeling changes to hope and looking forward to a clear and bright future.

I don’t remember this song in The Beach however Orbital created the anthem for the movie as they did for MK & Hackers appropriately named “Beached”. Look it up great song and I’d also highly recommend Orbital One Perfect Sunrise. Similar Classics from other artists I would recommend Robert Miles (RIP) - Children Dream version, God Within - Raincry Submerged or Spiritual Thirst version (RIP Scott Hardkiss), Mike Koglin Enjoy the silence - Matt Darey aka tekara mix, Sasha & Maria - Be as one, Above & Beyond - Sun in your eyes, Small moments, Good for me, We’re all we need, Chicane - Salt water - ambient mix.
First heard this when it came on at the end of the Mortal Kombat movie back in 1995. Only years later I realised it was by Orbital who I was always a fan of. Amazing song. I remembered it today and felt like listening to it. It makes me think of hope for a better future.
It was 95.. I was the only black kid in VA who wore jncos. So of course I gravitated towards Hackers.. and the very moment I heard this. I knew I’d be listening to it 25 years later. I teared up as a pre teen in theaters as this played during Liu Kang saying goodbye to his brother. In my late teens as soon as mp3s and Limewire was a thing. This is the first song I downloaded. Then in my 20s I took a chance and saw this goofy movie called Mean Girls in theaters... and guess what? This played at the end... and I smiled and felt old. Sigh. I’ll play this at my funeral. We’re old, ppl. We are generation x. ... no matter what the “charts” say.... keep your head up, my peers. Teach your kids to hack the planet. Who knew we’d need too? Lmao. Me? I’ll never be married. I’ll never have kids. I watched too much Wonder Years and expect fairy tales out of the cesspool that is life. Stay safe, people. Look at all we been through from 1995-2020...
@@celinapelixdavn1312be sure it's the 1995 one. It plays during the scene with Liu Kang, Jonny, Sonia, and Princess Kitana and walking toward the buddhist temples with everyone celebrating.
I remember when i found comment on "Yellow Submarine" video saying that The Beatles are underrated. Every human want to be a "special one" but you never be special by saying that everything what you like is underrated or old.
Well it happened to me finally. My father randomly passed last week... and It's music like this that makes believe that he's still here somehow, rooting for me. He was the rock of our family, and things will never be the same. Stay strong, and stay safe everyone.
Orbital, dedicated to Paul Hartnoll's mother, who was addicted to the tranquiliser Halcion (Triazolam) for many years. If you like this, try the original : "It's a Fine Day" by Opus III (1992). One of the reasons my VHS copy of "Hackers" eventually snapped!
As a child I cried sitting next to my dad in the theater when this song played at the end of Mortal Kombat. He asked me why I was crying and I had no answer, it wasn't the scene or movie in particular. It wasn't until I was an adult I realized it was the song that resonated with me despite my undeveloped taste in music. Later on in life this song has found much deeper meaning for me when my future wife played it during a special moment and I found out that this song had special meaning to her as well. Now I cry almost every time I hear it. It keeps me grounded. Xanah, if you're reading this, I love you.
If I heard this song today for the first time it would already have an emotional impact on me, but combined with the nostalgia I feel, it's overwhelming.
Orbital, KLF, early Moby, Apotheosis, FSOL, Wiliam Orbit and others that I am omitting due to massive consumption of vodka at the moment; this was an incredible time period that I was so very fortunate to experience in real-time. Just simply incredible. The club scene, raves, etc. nothing present day will ever parallel this existence. It was absolute bliss. Cheers.
Can you believe this came out in '92? I think every artist dreams to create something timeless like this track, something that lives on. You created a masterpiece Orbital.
It's also interesting how it came to be, not what you'd expect - "dedicated to Hartnolls' mother, who was addicted to the tranquiliser Halcion (Triazolam) for many years."
Mortal Kombat brought me back here. Ahh the memories and the feeling u get at the end of the movie when u hear this song. Just as a child in the 90's just will never be a time like that and a generation like it. Ever! Hurts in a way.
The reason why everyone misses the 90s was because everyone misses the energy felt. We was connected and more intune spiritually and now social media and technology affects that in many ways.
Its not just social media that affects it. There is many other factors but one of the biggest is godlessness. As we turn our backs on Father Yahweh he turns his back on us. That same energy can be had again and spread if people would let go of what science and people tell them and accept the Truth of Yeshua Hamashiach (Hebrew name of Jesus Christ). I was an atheist and i would have 100% agreed with you until i found that loving energy that flows through everything. All it takes is faith and to follow the Word of Yahweh.
@@undeadexile2485 Yes, historically faith has been such a fount of love, interconnectedness and understanding. Not at all a "get out of jail free card" for horrible ass governmental systems and human depravity. The world hasnt changed much, we're just acutely more aware of how everyone else is doing now that we're connected. Your belief is your business, but to ascribe all thats wrong in the world to the fact that fewer people believe in invisible beings in the sky is a gross simplification of a complex development
@@Herminatorz Whether you want to accept it or not its truth. It is not at all as simple as you might believe. Fear of God leads to a consequence driven existence while following The Word sets up a standard of morality that is almost directly connected with the decline of society when not followed. The more connected society becomes the more relevant The Words doctrine becomes. While we see a more prevalent decay in basic morality we also see a drastic increase in desire driven lifestyle. these desire driven lifestyles essential deny the whole for the wants of the self while The Word specifically says to crucify the flesh or deny desire. One great example is Biblical standards on relationships and sex and how lack of those standards leds to rampant STD's and failing relationship standards. Look how shallow relationship standards have become in so many places worldwide. I could go on and on about it. I won't be rude about it but don't judge the Word of God if you haven't seriously studied it and its implications.
@@undeadexile2485 if you need the overhanging spectre of a god over you to behave like a decent human being, and think others do so too, I honestly feel bad for you. The notion of a god stems from a time in which we could explain very little of the world we live in. It's telling how, for the last 200 years, no new large scale religions have found a footing in the world, it's simply way harder to convince people of blind obedience to something you can't see, hear or touch. The idea of the almighty, all caring god has some serious flaws to it, as it just doesn't make any sense. To paraphrase: if he is all powerful and loving, why is there suffering? If he is all powerful and uncaring (explaining suffering) he is cruel and not worthy of devotion, and if he is neither... Then why call him a god?
@@Herminatorz your last comment is whats called a straw man fallacy. Instead of refuting how God and christianity's doctrine influences society you just managed to show your subjective bias on his existence. If you would read the bible you would find answers to all of what you just said. Instead your just going to rely on a preconceived bias and the opinions of others who know as little about it as you do. Did you know Albert Einstein once said "Condemnation without investigation is the height of ignorance"?
My best friend and I jammed out to this song in a rented car as we drove through the Costa Rican mountain highways. We had just found out hours before that our flight was leaving earlier than expected. Solely through our wit and our will we managed to travel from the southern end of the country all the way up north back to San Jose. Stressful it may have felt but exhilarating it certainly was. This song brings me right back! Don't forget to travel and live!
my favorite country the craziest little travel tidbit for there - you can take an uber from san jose to like, chirripo if you want. I got that way for like 200$ or something in a pinch hahaha
You're going to be ok. Maybe not good, or great. But ok is a start. And from there things will improve. Important thing is to just keep trying to move forward. Good luck.
@@psychedelicfright85 I'm sorry to hear that bud. I want to say it's going to get better and to keep fighting the good fight. But I don't know you, and honestly, not every problem has a solution. But what I can say is, every time we lose one of the good ones, our society is weaker for it.
Can't believe it.... after so many years I found this song, bring me back when I was a teenager, driving with the windows down on a warm summer night, feeling the breeze, enjoying life.

No matter how many years will pass, this tune will never die.
A wild cyclist appears! It’s my all time favorite to listen to. I have it on nearly every device I own in some form.
The more years pass, the more I like this tune!
A classic I will enjoy well passed my 70's. Helped me a lot working by myself ...time moved a bit quicker overnight
Nor should it. That's how it is with music that's timeless.
This is my favourite tune of all time, this tune will never die because it is timelessly good.
May the ethereal frequency from this sonic masterpiece reverberate into the cosmos for eternity.
It's life.

So sick.

In the handful of comments, this song saved 4 people's lives, and helped countless others transcend into higher states of existence. It was amaizing how I was literally reading one after the other and she was just laughing at her own inability to understand the depth in this song, and I was also making fun of her. Good times. This song always wins.
This song makes me believe that there's still hope.

Well it happened to me finally. My father randomly passed last week... and It's music like this that makes believe that he's still here somehow, rooting for me. He was the rock of our family, and things will never be the same. Stay strong, and stay safe everyone.
I'm so sorry to here about your tragic loss sigh. But please know he's still here..just in another way..
Please take care, brother.

Where is that from?
Mortal Kombat the movie
epic words
The true Chang!!
I had an out of body experience as a kid and it felt like this. Words can’t explain the feeling but somehow this song does.
I fuck with that song too!!
Fantastic to know, thank you 🤘✨
Yeah that entire soundtrack was pretty amazing
Oooo you read the wikipedia. Clever you..
@@jibbajabba4712 alright chief, chill out. Grab a beer or maybe have a w@nk. Check the Wiki date and my post before you start firing rounds out.
My name isn't Xanah but I wanted to say I love you too. Thanks for sharing your story.
Let me guess, you are her wife as well.
I think we are all everyone's wives
This is Xanah's brother, fuck you !
cheers mate
I was 19 when I heard this, I'm 43 now... Heard it in my 16 year old son's playlist while moving his car. He found it in mine. 😂
That's awesome.
Nice!!!! Very nice!!!
🤣...sounds like my little cousin. Hmm... I wonder what else he found on that computer...🤔
sounds scripted but still cool!
@@behemothck 19 million people have watched this video alone. I wouldn't put it past him.
Cheers.
I’m so jealous! I’ve only been raving since 2012 but I try to keep the spirit of old school raves whenever I go

Pleeease keep it. The 90’s must be reborn. 👏🎶
Underworld, KMFDM, Fear Factory
Hardkiss - Delusions of Grandeur brings my headspace back like this song does.
Yep the best time all love, music is shit nowadays
Can you believe this came out in '92? I think every artist dreams to create something timeless like this track, something that lives on. You created a masterpiece Orbital.
Amazing for '92....truly visionary!
Fluke, Orbital, Leftfield there were so many great alternative artists back then. Lots of them lost to time but the greats still shine through
It's also interesting how it came to be, not what you'd expect - "dedicated to Hartnolls' mother, who was addicted to the tranquiliser Halcion (Triazolam) for many years."
It sounds just like its from 1992
A classic
This is one of the most beautiful piece of music I’ve ever heard

Mortal Kombat brought me back here. Ahh the memories and the feeling u get at the end of the movie when u hear this song. Just as a child in the 90's just will never be a time like that and a generation like it. Ever! Hurts in a way.
I have left written in my will: this is what must be played during my funeral. And it's not a joke.

This is one of the most incredible songs ever made. Timeless.
This song saved my life, and every day I'm thankful it did.
Bro please be safe, I love you dude
My best friend and I jammed out to this song in a rented car as we drove through the Costa Rican mountain highways. We had just found out hours before that our flight was leaving earlier than expected. Solely through our wit and our will we managed to travel from the southern end of the country all the way up north back to San Jose. Stressful it may have felt but exhilarating it certainly was. This song brings me right back!
Don't forget to travel and live!
💘💘💘
Most can only dream of seeing what you had a chance to witness. Good for you brother!

the craziest little travel tidbit for there - you can take an uber from san jose to like, chirripo if you want. I got that way for like 200$ or something in a pinch hahaha
i love your story!
Doing the same as I write this
I'm at a real low right now, and this song is about the only thing that's giving me the power to move forward.
You're going to be ok. Maybe not good, or great. But ok is a start. And from there things will improve. Important thing is to just keep trying to move forward. Good luck.
keep going brother
The road is long and fraught with peril but we must continue. For our ancestors and our honor! I believe in you.
I've been sinking for 5 years, and I don't even want to be here anymore.
@@psychedelicfright85 I'm sorry to hear that bud. I want to say it's going to get better and to keep fighting the good fight. But I don't know you, and honestly, not every problem has a solution. But what I can say is, every time we lose one of the good ones, our society is weaker for it.
It's difficult to put into words, it just feels liberating. This is one of those dopamine releasing songs.
That's was the effect of the Halcion tranquiliser.

Just because we can't recreate an amazing time that has already passed doesn't mean we can't make something entirely new and possibly even better in the present moment.
All the pubs play R'n'B now. For the kids. To even get higher than 60 bpm you have to listen to rock or indie. Truly, massively, epicly depressing. Electronica is dead. By the time it comes back I'll be too old to dance :
simon you need to discover the wonder that is beatport and soundcloud. there is any music you want out there being created every day. No genre is dead in 2016.
One day you will look back on now and wish you were here, enjoy it brother!
Landed in New York listening to this song, always been a small dream of mine to do since I saw Hackers when I was young. Was a great feeling. Halcyon will never be forgotten.
I used to work in nightclubs and had DJ friends. They'd tell me when they produced music they wanted the songs to feel like they were taking people on a "journey". Always felt like this song, was one of those songs. Like the song is taking you with it to a magical place saying "come along for the ride".
This song and others like it, allow your mind to wander above the highest clouds to watch a sun rise and set , to travel to places you haven't been to , dive deep below the oceans to find wonders.
Yes exactly!
I wish more dance music these days was like this….it’s what got me into electronic music in the first place.
