Be careful with adjusting fuel pressure. It will not only require a complete re scale of injectors. But most importantly the pump will flow much less volume at a higher pressure, which can make even a large pump to small for the application. At 60psi base pressure and 25psi of boost I had to step up to a 450high pressure pump on my Twincharged Subaru.
I remember back in the 2000s I had a 4G63 that kept breaking adjustable cam gear bolts. A machine shop had me set the timing on the cam bolts and welded up the cam bolts. I have also seen people advance the base and retard the cog drive so the cog can’t back out timing if the bolts come out.
Upping your fuel pressure from your base 40PSI will require you to essentially re-do your entire fuel table, start-up, ANY tuning that involves fuel. Increased fuel pressure increases CC's of injectors.
It also messes with dead-times of injectors too, so that will need to be adjusted. Hopefully those injectors have dead time data for 60psi... many only have data for 45psi and you need to measure manually for anything other than that. Increasing base pressure on injectors is a great way to squeeze a little more boost out of them if you're nearing duty cycle limits, but a proper solution is to just get properly sized injectors.
This dude has some self control if I had a Miata this clean I’d dump too much money into it 😂 I put too much money in new parts when my car breaks down
Your cam gear bolts issue reminds me of the time my tensioner locking bolt loosened, bolt was torqued to spec, but apparently it wasnt enough, luckily only a few months after new belt and tensioners all-round, so everything was tight enough, and survived :)
In the kindest way possible, due to all the loose bolts you're experiencing, I think its time to get your torque wrench recalibrated or invest in a new one.
i knew it was something rubbing it didn't sound like a knock to me and i thought it was the water pump or around there because of where the sound was coming from
Adjustable cam gears seems like mostly an opportunity for failure (like here) rather than a performance improvement on a heavily boosted Miata. On a NA Miata, supercharged low-boost Miata, or a Miata with crazy cams, they will do a lot, but boosted? Not much compared to just adding boost and getting better flowing exhaust parts. If you really want gains from cam timing, you should look for a VVT head and throw that on. They look to be mostly centered, timing wise, too, so switching back to stock won't really lose much at all.
Question, with the timing gear all out like that and how short it ran for would there be any damage from that? Also how far out of time could that have been would there be any piston issues? not asking or thinking thats happened here more curious in general
These are known as “non-interference” engines meaning the valves won’t make contact with the piston even if they open at the same time as the piston is up. Not sure if same still applies with high compression pistons as that usually changes things, but also since the pulley still has some bolts left holding it, it only rotated a few degrees to the ends of the slotted holes on the gear.

my guy just said twin charged subaru-
So he’s got two alternators
Lol I can't tell if you guys are joking or not.
@@fiishoyeah man! It’s got an Eaton M90 Supercharger & GT45 Turbo, on an STI Engine. It’s on my channel.
@@boostedproblems5139 Shit man thats sick, ill for sure check it out!
Best hidden video
Best car channel on UA-cam!
Good find! Glad it was an inexpensive fix.
Molly deserves a G25-550.
Flashbang intro is iconic. Happy Thursday 🫡

Hope you enjoyed your Christmas bro! Nothing better than an easy fix that only did cosmetic damage 💪🏻
I don’t understand how this man doesn’t have a million subs yet. Can’t process how people like to watch destruction instead of creation
Getting my isr exhaust soon. So excited
I love when the blue Miata get power mods. Bigger turbo, external waste gate, electronic boost controller??
The fuel Tank was beautifully executed with the wiring. 👌
Hope you put some Loctite on them this time. Strange they backed out though.
Tbh with the power your pushing I'm pretty sure most people recommend at least doing mazdaspeed lifters, non hydraulic
Fuel videos are 🔥
going to pickup two hats, the blue one is sweet !!!
this car is an absolute piece of art!
molly is such a clean car, nice video as always
have you thought about doing something like a Rocketeer V6 MX-5 3.0 V6 MX5 engine conversion for Mazda ..MK1 & MK2 Mazda MX-5/Miata.

Whoaaa when did radium finally come out with a drop in for the miatas. I had no idea. Now I need to spend a bunch more money.
Lower your base fuel pressure, take the vacuum hose off and set it to about 43psi
You should probably run new fuel lines since the old 8mm lines are a bottle neck, also put less strain on the fuel pump.
Those lines can handle +500whp they are not a bottle neck
@@boostedproblems5139In comparison to the fuel system he installed it's a bottleneck.
@@DelTalkoh Except its a bottleneck he wont be reaching so its pointless to change them
Napkin gang 🔥
Thank you daddium
I would suggest not using worm drive clamps for anything fuel related. Always go with the fuel injection style clamps!
Great diagnosis, good catch, she will make boatloads 😀 is it next video yet lol
Molly is getting more powerful
you should install a second pump now and in case the pump 1 fails you can swap the wires to pump 2 and be back on your way super quick.
wahoo, gingium upload
Goddamn I wish I had extra time and money for a project Miata. Molly looks like a blast to drive. ❤
More turbo miata!!!
ngl, that drop in fuel pump cage is kinda sexy
I didn't think it was as bad as first feared.
Got an affiliate link for the oil filter cutter?
Ford Ranger @12:46!!! 😂
Sweet !!!
Whats that tool you used to cut open the filter lol
If the BP ever goes out, K-Swap time

adjustable cam gears strike again. Amount of time i've heard that happening is crazy.
I will buy the old fuel pump hanger off you lol I need it
Gingium
Did you loose the 10mm when installing the coils?
I might have missed something after the dsm burnt down but did you ever give that guy anything?
Hey Gingium, the throttle body is missing a nut
i knew it was something rubbing it didn't sound like a knock to me and i thought it was the water pump or around there because of where the sound was coming from
can we have a mx5 a/c installation vid please :)
Omg. I steal so many of those Chipotle napkins I could be in jail for it.

I’m gonna guess your gonna end up needing a boost by gear setup lol
