Original video: • The Aristocrats - Erot...
Song is from Guthrie's solo album Erotic cakes....speechles.... this album will become a guitar legendary album ....i highly reccomend listening to the whole album
These guys are on such another level as it is! However, great as they are, they don't take themselves seriously as to think they're gods. So fun to watch, but so extremely talented!
Finally some reacting to my favorite band, I searched on youtube every week someone reacting to the aristocrats, please react to more of them, you will love them
This looks like when they played at the Slowdown in Omaha. I was front and center. Awesome show.
Guthrie might be the best guitarist in the world. There is nothing he can't play. You should react to "Guthrie Govan - Fives at Jamtrackcentral". It's amazing! His entire album Erotic Cakes is a masterpiece. But there isn't really many live performances on UA-cam that does the album justice.
Since you seem to have an Internet monopoly on Aristocrats reactions (there appears to be only one) -- you should do another one!!! Try The Aristocrats - Bad Asteroid - "Boing, We'll Do It Live!"
On a fretless guitar.... incredibly impossible!!!
Do Bad Asteroid or Waves!
Enter the rubber chickens! Great stuff.
People say Primus is their own genre (that wierd jazz/funk/metal fusion thing they do), but if ever I were to put a non-Primus song in that genre, this would probably be it.
I visited Chelmsford in UK once to see guthrie live in a gigging session...there was about 5 people in a pub....and the doorman and bartender said they prefer listening to Abba!
Ha! Sorry about that.... not sure if that says something terrible about Chelmsford or Essex generally! Glad you got to see him play in an intimate venue!!!
they have no idea how lucky they have it. Also 5 people, wow
@@sayanorasonic The bar would probably have been the Bassment Club in Hall Street, Chelmsford. Guthrie used to gig there all the time with his band, The Fellowship. There are some recordings on UA-cam, featuring my old friend the incredible Zak Barratt on sax, and the stunningly good Pete Riley on drums, backed up by Guthrie's brother Seth on bass. They try to play there once a year and they get more than 5 people now. The place is usually packed. Buy Guthrie beer and he will happily chat to you.
Now that was just three musical geniuses f**cking about 😂😂😂😂
Definitely listen to the album (erotic cakes its a Guthrie album not an aristocrats one) its a tour de force of fusion guitar. There are some genuinely beautiful and honestly compelling moments sprinkled in the mind melting virtuosity.
I did photography at one of their gigs just so I could stand 4 feet away from Guthries amp. It was a religious experience.
Marco Minnemann also was Wilson's drummer on Watchmaker
And also on The Raven That Refused To Sing the album.
Wow! Got some strong Zappa vibes from this, including the jazz influences. Never heard about these guys before your reply to my comment on your channel trailer, gonna have to check out more of their stuff. The guitarist is a bit too much of the virtuoso type for my taste, but the music sounds creative enough that I could tolerate him.
I came to your channel for last year's Tool reactions, stayed for the discoveries. Thank you for existing!
Thank you for staying!!!!!
@@JimNewstead Pleasure's mine. BTW, speaking of Tool, you should check out Adam Jones' The Witness. A brand new solo instrumental track (and video) featuring his Tool buddies Danny Carey and Justin Chancellor. Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/0ukDsv3pweo/v-deo.html
One of the best chicken players out there, no doubt.
Love them so much, can recommend seeing them live, it's so much fun!
Ooooo HELL yes you're in for a treat.
Ulises Hernandez I was in for a treat!
Did you clock that he was playing a fretless guitar?
Bad asteroid from these guys is a very sexy song
I came across your Tool - The Grudge reaction video and really enjoyed seeing your reaction to it. Was even more pleased to see a reaction to the Aristocrats! Their albums are fantastic to listen to, but this song was actually off of Guthrie's solo album. On that note, if I were to recommend another song off of Guthrie's album erotic cakes, it would be 'Ner Ner'. Here's a great video of him playing it live (ua-cam.com/video/lNKE4dDQCDg/v-deo.html). Cheers Jim!
They player "Heartbreaker" at 7:30 Xd
And whole lot of love 9:02 and a myriad of other things.
And if all that amazing stuff would not be enough: did anyone notice that GG plays a fretless guitar?
I know! How nuts is that? Then again, violins, violas, cellos and basses don’t have frets!
@@JimNewstead Yes, but noone plays artistic tapping on a Cello neck.
Definitely original... musicianship is off the chain!
If you like a bit of wierd and wonky, try this one out. The band is called Beats Antiques with guest vocalist/bassist Les Claypool.
Beats Antique - Beezlebub ft. Les Claypool ua-cam.com/video/ZHVEqsyitwE/v-deo.html
You wish you could do that with your phone!!!!!! LOL You are a strange strange man Jim.;-)
But I do see what you see in the playing of the instruments............
Ann Waychoff haha, haha, ha! Yes, my wife tells me that frequently!
Check your discussion page.
Jim go to your discussion page.......... :-)
You failed to mention the fact that Guthrie plays that on a fretless guitar! 😮. I don't think Guthrie "put together" The Aristocrats.
One of the best guitarists in the world, one of the best drummers in the world and one of the best bass players in the world happened to meet and hit it off.
The rest is history. 😊
I'd like to see your opinions on Babymetal, I would recommend either a live version of Megitsune or YAVA. many thanks!
shame the original video is so out of sync!
barfyman362 I know. I have an idea how to fix that but would have to upload a second time. Detach the audio from the video and nudge it forward a smidge should do it. If I find this again I'll do that. Sorry!
