This is BAD!! Sat for 20 YEARS! Locked up ls1 teardown! What went wrong with this engine?!

pulling apart this seized 5.7l ls1 engine! this engine sat outside for twenty years in the back of a truck after a dealer removed it from a new camaro in the 90s. I was told it was originally pulled for a lifter tick, but we find out a different story in this video... This thing belongs in a junkyard!

That sucks. Loved the tear down. Did you ever the engine or did you scrap it

Can't believe you were able to knock the first 6 pistons out that easy. I figured that thing would take a week of soaking in Evaporust, Metal Rescue, tranny fluid or some other witch's brew before anything would budge. Surprising the rust didn't go that deep down in the cylinders.
