This video was just EXCELLENT!! You are a gifted teacher for sure. You have no idea how it helps a new quilter to see how you do things. I was blown away by the little tips (and I ordered the seam guide, seam roller and rulers immediately after watching. I have made two quilts so far, one rag quilt and one cobblestone. I'm doing FQS Jolly Roll Along and these are my first pieced blocks. They are more difficult and I need to learn the tricks of the trade. Thank you so much for taking time to make these tutorials! I know how busy you are and it is a blessing to have access to these!
Lori you are fabulous! I just love your space + set up! Your organization is a dream come true! What aura + joy you share! Every thing you design absolutely is the most uniquely fabulous inspiration! You are an angel on earth and thank you for sharing all that you do! Please stay healthy, happy, and safe! Basque in your uniqueness! 😍
That was so much fun! What a clever way of saving thread and getting more blocks sewn by running the rectangle blocks through the machine to finish off instead of cutting thread. Wow!
I have been sewing for many years, but not quilting that many. I began a quilt in the 80s and it still is not finished. I did not quilt any of those years since the 80s until recently. Most of the quilts I have made have been using rectangles and squares. This is an easier way to get triangles than doing half square triangles. I have done this stitch and flip method and can usually get decent results. I love your teaching style and you are so organized. I don’t seem to be able to work on more than one project at a time, so will give this some thought. Multitasking in quilting! Need to try this. Love your little stars. They are so happy looking. Made me smile! Look forward to more of your teaching videos! Thanks
Amazing tutorial, i just received my very first order from fat quarter shop with your beautiful fabric as well as rulers....and your sewing machine guide was back in stock yesterday at fat quarter shop, so of course i was able to do my second order .....i also ordered your paper pieces so that my daughter can learn to quilt just by sewing on your guided paper, thank you for such an amazing idea for new quilters......( so excited for my second order which is being shipped ....lololo....) i do wish more Canadian quilt stores carried your whole line of materials and notions( especially Saskatchewan/Alberta)......however Kimberly (fat Quarter Shop tutorials as well) has me addicted to her store now lolo...and thats okay.... so great full that we found both of your utube channels by accident during these trying times.....thank you and know that your tutorials are greatly appreciated......
This block is so much easier than I thought, I would love it with red white and blue and Christmas. I will give it a try. I just love these videos they are so calming and really give a feeling of how easy it can be. I need to get my iron closer to the stitching area. Thank you for sharing. I also order the rulers, and roller now that I know how to use it. I had the seem guide and can really see how it works so well as a guide, I used tape before.
Easy! Made 2 of these blocks yesterday. So glad you shared this because I've been sewing for nearly 5 yrs and have kept so many scraps awaiting the perfect idea. Love your featherweight and storage ideas. Please keep sharing!
I have to say I LOVE this pattern. I just started making them with a plain white background and they are so lovely. Thank you Lori for sharing your pattern
Oh no, I found this around 10 days ago and... I’m hooked.! Any spare time I get I’m making them. My other projects are sitting on the sewing table trying to raise my guilt but the addiction Is doing a good job of ignoring those projects. Thanks so much for this video.
Great to have a pattern to use my stash, especially now that demand for fabric has caused some shortages. I can use up some of my stash on this pretty quilt and later I can have fun replenishing my stash as fabric manufacturers catch up with demand. Thank you.
Can I just say... I love u... I want to make a quilt. And I am totally new to piecing. I have tried this star by half square triangle and it wasn’t neat. I made this and it turned out great!! I am going to make twinkle twinkle quilt for my mommy. Thank u.
Your color scheme is so pleasant, I love it. Just a tip I've found makes my life so much easier when using my featherweight. I load my bobbin with 80 weight Invisifil DecoBob thread. It will allow you to load twice as much thread and it's very strong. I've even used it on top too, but it's increasing the bobbin capacity that's great when you're chain piecing. Thanks for all your clear and detailed tutorials.
Lori love these..... I am going to make some to hang in my craft room as a banner they are so cute. How about showing us the oblong pin cushion thingy next to the sewing machine. I just loved the tutorial on all the pin cushions. I have been walking about the house looking for some cute bowls, cups and other vases to put pin cushions in. Thanks for your time. Hugs from Minnesota
Your stuff is so nice and all your fabrics and your tips are so good I wish I could see like that! I'm just a beginner and I'm seeing my first quilt. Thank goodness for people like on youtube!
Love this block and thank you for explaining how you make the rectangle instead of leaders and enders. I use leaders and enders and this is a much better use of all that thread! I watched your FQS tutorial and you were using triangles and I loved it! This explains it so it finally clicked in my brain what they were really for! Thank you so much!!!
These are just darling. I'm gong to make these. You explain everything so well. You make it easy to follow along. What a neat sewing machine you have . You are awesome. So happy I found your channel.
5:58ish sewing the blocks together....Thank you so much for this amazing block. There are many amazing quilts ahead for all who watch this video and then make the quilt. Amazing.

WOW! Thank you so much for this video. I absolutely loved it!! And though the actual tutorial was very good, I loved all the ideas that you gave with explaining about your storage supplies, rulers and how to just keep quilting the rectangles as you go. This was so awesome!!
Ty so much for sharing your beautiful creations with us! Your a genius press the open seams with your ruler first no more burnt fingers. I am so ordering your seam press!
