Kids eventually become adults and if you don't raise good kids or the state because of their weird adult beliefs teach your kids to do stupid crap then like 3:00 you end up stupid. Then you got an adult who gets in peoples faces and gets bucky with the cops because they have been taught all their lives their little gods on earth if they believe the right things the teacher, the government or media tells them. But heaven forbid their parents ever.

I don't want to be an asshole to her but I don't think she's a "real", aka tenured professor, she's 20 years too young for that. She might be associate prof on a tenure track but like, I kind of doubt it. My money is on her being an adjunct, aka a minimum wage worker with a masters degree.
Adjuncts are people for whom the prestige of calling themselves "professor" is more valuable than having health insurance.

What she was bragging about, making more money and having more fun, is NOT something that the street preacher would value. The only reason a woman would tell a complete stranger about her getting an abortion is because her conscience is screaming at her and she's coping/in denial about how she feels.

Yeah that was really strange. I'm not a woman, and I'm "pro choice", but I really can't fathom why getting an abortion would ever be something a woman would be happy or proud of. Maybe happy in a "I dodged a bullet and didn't ruin my life" sense, but certainly not happy about the process itself or killing of a fetus that would likely have developed into a person. This woman was gloating about seeing the dead fetus, just completely unhinged behavior.

Parents do indeed have responsibilities rather than rights, but those responsibilities can only be fulfilled with a certain level of authority. And the legal guardian of a minor definitely has authority to make decisions on that minor's behalf. There's a presumption in law that minors aren't mature enough to make certain decisions for themselves.

Ever heard of the phrase “with right comes responsibility”? The unspoken corollary to this is that with responsibility comes right. You can’t have one without the other. In all human hierarchies, those with higher status have greater rights (higher pay, the ability to tell others what to do, more discretion over their own actions, etc.) but also greater responsibility (literally being responsible for more things, greater personal liability, being held to a higher standard, etc.)

The thing about "parental rights" is that really the thing is that the parents are custodians of the *child's rights.*
The current demand for parental rights is really about preventing schools abd the government from usurping the role of custodian the child.

I literally fell over laughing when I when to a doctors office and they had extra-wide steel re-enforced chairs for fat people and then I noticed the doors had all been widened. I kid you not that I was laughing and pointing at the ridiculousness of what they had done. They didn’t help their patients achieve a healthy normal weight, they just made sure they wouldn’t break the chairs when they had the forklift bring them in.

    • @p.s.shnabel3409
      @p.s.shnabel3409 Рік тому +5

      It's complicated
People who are overweight know they are overweight. And they tend to feel ashamed for their weight (women more than men, if I remember the research correctly).
As a result, some will avoid places that make them feel even worse. E.g. beaches, public swimming pools, gyms. And also anywhere they don't fit or are afraid they might not fit chairs, doors - such as a doctor's office.
If you are a health care provider and you WANT people to come and seek help, you have to give them the opportunity to do so. From a logical point of view it doesn't make sense to demand people be already healthy before they can come to see you.
As long as the doctor makes it clear that he/she expects certain efforts in regards to weight loss, I think it's not wrong to accommodate overweight patients.
A hard no from me for a scenario when a doctor doesn't address the issue of overweight and caters to "healthy at any size". I understand that the doctor isn't a god and can't force anyone to go on a diet, but at the very least I think a doctor should bring that topic up regularly.

If the TEACHER is encouraging children to make drastic life changes then that is ABSOLUTELY something the parents should be informed about. It's fine for kids to have privacy and their own life, it's a big fucking problem when adults are talking to children and keeping what they're doing a secret from the parents, that is like the biggest red flag in existence.

It's become kind of a meme, but it really is important to distinguish between those different kinds of abuse lol, as different people are gonna need different coping mechanisms and types of healing.

The second TikTok kinda makes me wanna look the guy up. He seemed reasonable and super cool under that lady's stupidity. The one with the geography lesson just shows what happens when you fire all the non-woke teachers. I can tell you now that more than half of the best teachers I grew up with wouldn't survive today's cancel mob. I had a teacher who came in with a nazi soldier uniform when we studied WWII because he had a grandfather or something that had served in a basic combat role. I had a teacher in elementary school who sat us down after a kid in our class was shot and explained that this was why you should be wary of how you treat people (the kid was shot by the older brother of a kid he'd been teasing for being bald). I had a teacher tell us about her father who was killed in Vietnam by a trap. These things couldn't be done in todays schools, especially the first one. There was a lot wrong with schools back then, but at least most of the education was factual and teachers actually seemed to be trying to teach something worth learning.

The only form of learning about the world is "Australia compared to China". We did a whole term on why China and Australia are similar because both countries populations live on the coast. I have to explain to people basic geography. we're going backwards, People can't even distinguish a country from a continent.
