People who often comment "41mm is too big" really should try more watches on their wrist. Breitlings often wear smaller than they measure. People tend to pass on awesome watches just because of the size stated on the brands website.
I have never worn a Navitimer, but why do they wear small? Usually the size of a dial makes a watch look big or small and the Navitimer's front is dial almost exclusively. I would have expected them to wear actually larger than Panerais etc.
@@FlorianGrau I wouldn’t say they wear smaller but certainly true to size … in my opinion. I have a Navi and tried the new ones recently and with the new lug design they did wear a touch smaller ; on my wrist
I recently purchased a 46 Navitimer, olive face with stainless steel strap. I fell in love with the watch the moment I tried it on. It’s by far the classiest and most beautiful watch I’ve ever owned.
Superb video, thank you 👍🏻 These look great, full stop. If they’re your thing then I imagine you’ll be pretty excited about the refresh. As someone who isn’t a navitimer guy, these interest me so good job Breitling 👏🏻
As a Navi nerd; some of the small things bug me, but overall a fantastic rework of a classic icon. I’m happy it’s awakening more people to the Breitling brand which can’t be a bad thing. Great review was always mate
You know, i've just been learning more about the Navitimer lately as well! I knew embarrassingly little about it before. But such a cool watch, and as always - perfectly displayed by you! Loved this video
Sinn bought the rights from Breitling to use the dial layout to build their own “navigation” pilot chronograph in 1979. The 903 was born! Column wheel, Swiss mvmt (non COSC, non in-house), but about $5.6K less! Only in 41, black or beautiful blue, bracelet or strap. I have the blue, gorgeous watch! Def great alternative to Navitimer
The Navitimer is the best looking watch ever made IMHO. The new ones look amazing, but my personal favourite is the older 42mm A23322 - just incredible!
Great video. Somehow, visually, the smallest size looks the thickest. There's always pushback to bigger watches, but sometimes a small watch looks out of proportion if it is even slightly on the thicker side (case in point the Tudor BB pro). I think 46 looks the best, and not overly big because of its proportions being spot on.
Re the 46mm Navi: 52mm L2L and 13.9mm thick is extremely reasonable measurements for that size Chrono! Really does make the details Clear. It’s a watch that isn’t busy just for the heck of it and you would enjoy seeing the details! I am happy that Breitling is providing tons of variety in colors and sizes without raising the prices between the variances drastically though! But hey, this is coming for a dude who rocks a MM300 SLA047 as a daily 🕺🏾🤷🏾♂️
I really like these videos where you compare 3 very similar watches with different sizes because you are esentially catering towards 3 wrist size groups
The Navitimer always looked too big and too busy for me. But there's something different about the new ones that gets it just right. So I bought the 43mm in ice blue on a black strap. Love it.
This is a wonderful review of these watches! On your wrist I think the 43 was perfect. My wrist is about a half inch bigger than yours. Idk why people like small watches especially with over a 7” wrist. That 46 mm is sure appealing to me I’ll be checking these out today vs Rolex.
And I want you to know that I particularly appreciate your attention to detail when noting your wrist size. It is this kind of journalism that the watch world is in desperate need of 😂
IMHO you have the most interesting and visually appealing videos on UA-cam.. I love the Breitling navitimer specially the 43mm, it's a true icon, the design, functions, history, movement and the overall sense, look and feel of quality on the wrist.. very impressive! Breitling just dropped a limited edition Navitimer 43mm Boeing 747 limited to 747 pieces.. It would be cool if you could comment on this release cause I'm on the wait list for one, if you can get your hands on one and make a review even better.. Love your content my friend ⌚️😃👍
This was great! Despite how stunning they are, it's so much easier for me to reconcile paying $6200 for the IWC Pilot Chrono in 41mm. You're practically a community service channel. I do love these though, and now I see why i'd want the middle one rather than the smallest. It does seem a bit cramped in comparison. that bracelet is killer.
The retail price is pretty high but if you ask around you will get discounts. I tried them on at the Breitling boutique and the salesperson contacted me a few days later offering me the watch 1k off. Ended up buying it off another AD for a 25% discount. Given the current inflation/grey market on watches, you could do a lot worse than a Navitimer :)
You keep excusing your preference for large watches. What’s better than not caring about what the current fashion trend is? I have 17cm wrists and would get the 46, no doubt. Thanks for the size comparison, very helpful!
My blue dial 43 on steel, with golden hands and golden numerals, is on the way. A special edition watch created in conjunction with Singapore Airlines Pilot only. A limited edition for the pilots. I'm looking forward to getting It on my hand. Will take a shot when flying the A380.
nice review again. I didn't get hands on with the 46mm but works on your wrist for sure.. I wasn't a navitimer guy either ... but damn .. I want one ...
lord have mercy, i need me a navitimer. I've wanted one but thought them too big for the longest, may need to step into the AD. Just acquired on Aquis recently though, and balling on a college budget; navitimer may have to wait a few yrs. Side note: I started liking Breitling after seeing the lead in a K-drama don a beautiful Navitimer (Memories of the Alhambra - riveting show, would recommend) .
Nice comparison of the 3 size options. I believe the Tudor BB Chrono uses basically the same movement. I would love to know how Breitling adds roughly 4K to the price tag for the Navitimer.
I love watches and own many, some of my favorites are omegas. I purchased a a new 2021 46mm two tone navitimer on a strap, (which I changed out for the new strap, since the clasp is nicer) and I actually have been wearing it the most lately. I think the new version looks great, but I am happy with the one I have. I think breitling is making some excellent watches lately!
That 46 mm just won't sit central on your wrist. And in one shot you could see the light under the lugs as the gap was so big. 52 mm lug-to-lug is on my limit with an 18.5 cm wrist. But male end links would make it too big. You are right about the leather strap option making it more wearable, but it seems that you prefer the aesthetic balance of the bigger dial and has distracted you from the obvious fact that watch IS too big for you as demonstrated by much of your excellent quality video footage. Would be interesting to know what you feel about the watches now after two years.
Why no tachymeter? I wonder why Breitling removed it. The AOPA is almost a deal breaker. Breitling has great emblems (the wings or even the B). I really like the date at 4:30 too.
And remember that there also is the original continuation of the Navitimer, the Sinn 903. It‘s 41mm (like the original) and more water resistance. And it costs only half the price of the Breitling.
Brilliant video! Thanks. It's great to get a model version comparison like this, especially for people like me who can't afford new watches due to price! #ThumbsUp
The new Navitimer in its classic black/white form 41mm and silver 43mm is probably the two nicest Navitimers ever released period. Although the 43mm probably looks best on a 7in wrist due to its 49mm lug to lug length. But that’s preference. The 41mm Navitimer has the same measurements as a Rolex sub. To put it into perspective. Btw a 43mm watch isn’t considered “small” although on the proper wrist it looks fine. I agree the 46mm though looks fine on a 7in wrist as I’ve also tried that size on but would never buy a 46mm. In the end a Breitling Navitimer is nicer than almost any IWC since you mentioned and more known than any Zenith. It’s worth the money spent and can easily be had for around $1k-$1500 off from authorized resalers. Grey market a few dollars more. But not worth the warranty void.
Was so close to buying one. Then I tried on the IWC pilot Chrono 41 and just lost it. The strap change system, the WR, and the aesthetics spoke to me. More tool watch. That’s the hardest part about the navitimer for me. To ostentatious for me unfortunately even though I love it.
You know the navi could be one of the last bastions of a watch actually being used for it’s purpose. Many general aviation pilots still fly aircraft from the 60’s and 70’s, meaning they have analogue gauges. It’s why we’re still trained on how to navigate with paper charts and a flight computer. Which the navitimer is a simpler version of.
I own a Breitling blue with white sub dials a23322, you can pick one up for half the cost of the new ones and get it serviced by Breitling. For those disappointed with the WR, the reason is the slide rule bezel. Breitling has stated in order to increase the WR they would have to make it internal. Maybe they will produce it in the future but that would change the iconic look of the Navi.

Great video as always. Yes, I know both were historically used by pilots and have different design goals. I still find it curious. Personally, the Navitimer was the first watch that really kicked off my interest in luxury timepieces (I went to an airshow in 2014 where the Breitling Jet Team performed...marketing works, dammit) and so I feel like one is in my future at some point. And I definitely think it will be a blue 46 millimeter like the one in this video. However, I could have bought one a few weeks ago at Watches of Switzerland in Heathrow Terminal 5 and went for a Grand Seiko instead, for what that's worth.
Absolutely fantastic overview and review of the new Navi’s. Was very surprised you chose the 46mm as your personal favorite, but damn does it wear really well in your shots, and my wrist is 18cm as well 😏
5:02 “There are other…which are time-only, not even chronographs, and that are noticeably thicker than these watches.” My 14.7 mm thick in-house movement Black Bay Heritage Diver feels personally attacked 🤣🤣🤣
The 2022 Tundra and 2022 Lexus LX600 both have the same twin turbo v6 engine. The Tundra goes for $50k while the LX600 goes for $100k but the LX looks a lot better and would be my choice. Having the same engine doesn’t mean much as you have to look at the watch all the time. I think the Navitimer looks a million times better than the Tudor.
I’m personally not a fan of the changes. I prefer the b wing logo to the aopa. I also miss the counter balance logo on the chrono hand. The date placement is an improvement though. I think this is a sleeker and more classy design but in turn makes it kinda boring.
There is an unexplored parallel in the Breitling Navitimer and Panerai Luminor. The legacy of purposeful design and an associated contemporary dismissal from self-described watch enthusiasts, their quirky can’t-mistake-it-identity, the simplicity and clarity of the concept-even if the slide rule of the Navitimer is too particular for most liberal arts majors and people born after 1960-but most of all, the illogical elegance of their oversized cases. They both require that their owners not give a damn about what those enthusiasts think. And, I think, they reap the rewards of enjoying something really fun. I say this is unexplored, and yet, you have now explored both and come to, I think, the same conclusion. Thank you for being the fresh air this hobby needs, for being different, open-minded, and, well, fun.
What kills me about this watch is the water resistance....I mean, zenith manages to cram 50-100m into their chronos, so it sucks that these are stuck at 30m

06:35 I think the 46mm looks the best
For a pilot watch, it makes a lot of sense having a big diameter so there should be no complaint on that

Tudor is using a modified B01 on their chronograph that costs nearly half of new Navitimers. Don’t pay retail for Breitling
That’s exactly what came to my mind.

41mm looks best from a design/proportion standpoint. It's also the closest to the original Navitimer.
Fun fact: the Navitimer is Jerry Seinfeld's favourite watch. Enjoyed the vid. Do you still have your Superocean 42? :-)
Worn by Miles Davis too.
Navitmer with wings, then I am happy!
I just discovered this channel. Bro, your videos are awakening something in me. This channel is going to be costly .....
Ah.. you have good size wrist to pull off the big daddy size. I'm jealous!
FAR too busy of a dial for me, but I love the video nonetheless. Do not stop reviewing watches!!!
Never stop never-stopping.
Based. However legally Sinn 903 St is the one and only true Navitimer. Mentioning any other Navitimer is a Sinn. 😁
