I'm partial to Milwaukee but Dewalt has really stepped their game up with the whole 20/40/60 setups. And putting the motor right on the head of the trimmer is genius.
I like the 20v blower better then both and I agree the Milwaukee sound was annoying the good thing about battery powered blowers you can use them inside without killing yourself with fumes or having to use a cord for electric
Actually that's not a motor on the head of Dewalt it's a gearing so they use a smaller motor at top which gives you power without using up your battery that is why you can use a smaller amp hour battery and get the same or more runtime as the Milwaukee
Yeah, EGO is great. But they are dedicated to OPE, so their battery can be as heavy as they like. 7.5Ah battery has whopping 42 cells and weighs about 6.5lbs... In general, more cells = more power. So, if EGO tools have proper wiring to take the full power (i mean THICK wires), one can probably make max of 3000W out of 7.5Ah battery. They just have far more energy to use. In the other hand... Those flexvolt and M18 batteries are used for hand tools as well, so they cannot really get larger than that. (I think having 6.5lbs battery on a compact drill can be pretty fun, though.) So they have 15 cells and power is pretty limited to around 1000W. I think if you can afford another battery system for OPE, EGO is probably the way to go. But for those who wants to keep the same battery system... Flexvolt or M18 would be the better choice.
Volts is meaningless w/o amps. 18 volts @ 20 amps is equiv. to 60volts @ 6ish amps. Show me a flex volt battery and i'll show you a m18 w/ the same amp hour rating. That is why the stats are the same on the tools. When dewalt went to power of corded they made a battery switch that can switch voltages. When Milwaukee went to the power of corded they just made a battery with more amp hours
I have yet to try either of these, and yes I am a Milwaukee fan. But remember, this is a 60V tools against an 18V tool and the runtime isn't comparable...I own a muscle car and a work truck. Guess what gets driven more. The work truck. Power isn't always everything.
Mr. Yaakov ....runtime is about the same...more power is important..the 60v circular saw from Dewalt is much more powerful then Milwaukee FUEL saw...Milwaukee has more runtime..but Dewalt actually makes more cuts...
Grass Daddy Im on 5 acres and mow about three of it. I have the Milwaukee and use it on my entire property. If you like quiet and low vibration its the way to go
I don't think it's powerful than the Milwaukee. ...also the Milwaukee has conection with metal from the motor to the gir box like gas trimmers. ..no output from motor to gir box...
I want to see which one will last longer, work them in everyday situation until the battery dies. will the dewalt battery die quicker since it's putting out more power then the Milwaukee?
TIM from Canada how can you compare 18 V to40 V or 60 V these are three different levels of battery... if you were running 18 V then you can use same battery for most tools like (Milwaukee... 20 V )no you are in th (DEWALT) LINE Because now the (DEWALT HAS 20v ,40v,60v line now )
I agree with your original comment. I was having troubles with my battery trimmer, so I rented a gas. My first thought was 'Wow this thing is badass compared to my battery!"
As a fellow contractor give RYOBI 40v a look that is what I use, it is made by Milwaukee Tool Co. different design. keep in mind Dewalt is "Skill" renamed and is owned by Stanley.
MPO Ryobi and Milwaukee are made and owned by Techtronic industries. Techtronic industries is an acquisition company and has acquired dozens of brands. The 40V Ryobi trimmer is also a great product with a great value.
Skil is a totally separate and was part of Bosch before being sold to a Chinese company. Stanley Black & Decker does share tech between DeWALT, Stanley, Porter-Cable, Bostitch, but they definitely put their best tech in DeWALT. You can see a lot of older Stanley designed beefed up and re-sold as Bostitch or DeWALT. Porter-Cable used to be the go-to name in Routers, and now DeWALT owned a lot of those designs. Look at the mini-Routers between DeWALT and PC; basically the same except the DeWALT gets a light and a few other features. Guess I'm saying is that they aren't simply repainting the stuff from their other brands, but they typically will do something to one-up them. DeWALT got their foot in the door with a lot of handheld tools by taking what experience they had in the Stanley world, and making them a ton better, knowing that people would be willing to pay more for a black-and-yellow tool.
Sorry didn't mean skil I meant B&D; you are right! that is just how made I am with the monopoly Stanley has. they go and buy the patrons and company then strip the product till there is nothing good about it anymore " makes me sick" then they play the color / price game for the same product. toolguyd.com/tool-brands-corporate-affiliations/

oHerroPrease that's not the motor

i like how the red one the head looks like a normal gas model

+Big Daddy good info!
Great video Andy !!!
Agree these are DIY....Dewalt 40v is used by many lawncare guys....also have you ever used EGO...? They are the most powerful cordless tools
+zzz Z I used ego at the GIE they make good stuff
Cut and Clean Lawn Care ...agree I have their ope stuff, and self propelled mower and snow blower
Yeah, EGO is great.

Dewalt blower is only good if your right handed. Plus this is 54v vs 18v. Big difference in power.
+Jamie Jaconetta it's really not a big difference in power on the blowers look up the mph and CFM it's kind of funny

Dewalt has large amp hours as well on their batteries as well.
i have the 20v dewalt Blower seems ok , also had a 2 stroke weedman blower sOLD it tires of the SMELL
I have yet to try either of these, and yes I am a Milwaukee fan. But remember, this is a 60V tools against an 18V tool and the runtime isn't comparable...I own a muscle car and a work truck. Guess what gets driven more. The work truck. Power isn't always everything.
+Mr. Yaakov 60v is 20v to 9ah vs 18v 9ah I feel they are rather comparable not heads up but as far as price range options
DeWALT 60V 3.0AH/20V 9.0AH, Milwaukee 18V 9.0AH only
Mr. Yaakov ....runtime is about the same...more power is important..the 60v circular saw from Dewalt is much more powerful then Milwaukee FUEL saw...Milwaukee has more runtime..but Dewalt actually makes more cuts...
zzz Z I actually just got the new fuel blower 2 days ago and today it let the smoke out! Warranty I guess. Jeez Milwaukee.
these battery ones are getting better and better. perfect for the people with small yards.
+Grass Daddy yea, and contruction workers needing to clean and clear small areas
Grass Daddy
Im on 5 acres and mow about three of it. I have the Milwaukee and use it on my entire property. If you like quiet and low vibration its the way to go
52"SCAG keep the 36" for your backyards you'll be flying through yards at that point!!! Love the Videos Andy from T's Lawn Cutting in Burlington NJ
+Tyler Randt thanks man!

Thanks for the good video. I was pretty interested in Dewalt 60V blower, but it was not released yet, so couldn't really get any info.
+Kyong Song thanks man, they have a little more power than the 40v ope but the 40v has longer run time
Great video! How does the weight of that electric stuff compare to the gas stuf that you have owned? Thanks!
still have the m18 stuff in 2019 ?
or was it just for Demo ?
I still have everything Milwaukee!
nice video. My guess for mower purchase is toro commercial zero turn with diesel engine and blower vac
What’s the weight of the two?
Yellow wins again
Loved the video man!!
ty
I hope a scag 36 stander, can't go wrong with scag!!!
+Kyles Lawn-Care ew...
Doesn't looks like you cut more than 3 blades of grass. Mostly pushed around rocks and sticks. Those are terrible conditions to do a comparison video
Gotta work with what you have at the moment
doesn't the dewalt have a screw to rotate the head in the middle of the shaft?
I know it doesn't matter but has anybody noticed that battery powdered string trimmers and blowers never look as sexy or as well built as gas?
Haha
+Rufus LC lol
Rufus LC ..not true sir...ego outside equipment is so sexy and as powerful as gas...check the spec and pics
I was mostly joking it doesn't matter as long as it works .
I agree with your original comment. I was having troubles with my battery trimmer, so I rented a gas. My first thought was 'Wow this thing is badass compared to my battery!"
Hey Andy did the head weigh more on the dewalt trimmer vs the Milwaukee?
+Jeff Sybrant I'm sure it does... but both are Ballanced very well I couldn't tell
Is the dewalt 60v trimmer more powerful then the dewalt 40v trimmer?
+Ray Wilson nope, and a lot less run time on the 60b
how much for the DeWalt 60v leaf blower ? I'm thinking about getting it for home use I live in Ireland :)
When you cut and blow your yard so much, but still want to do a review lol
where did you kind the milwaukee tools at in Missouri
ever try the 58v ECHO ?
I like the Dewalt is better and quiter
+Big Daddy I feel the same
Ego blowers is where it's at. Those things are as best as it gets.
Why not compare a 20 vs 18 instead...........
dewalt never showed that they had an over-volted 775 motor
Amazing how poor the surface concrete appears to be in your sidewalks.
+Elodea ok...
I can't believe more people haven't subscribed, you are one cool 😸.
thanks man, apprechiate the support
Sharp!
+Brian's Lawn Maintenance what are you thinking about the battery power equipment?
Cut and Clean Lawn Care Totally mixed emotions. These will be interesting to review! Good video though pal.
my 20v Dewalt Motor just Broke after 1.5 years !!!!!!!!!!!!
Joni English now if you had Milwaukee. They would replace it with a brand new one

MPO ..Dewalt tools are nothing like the quality of skill...they are much much better then anyone
