Hello….I also have a Dewalt String Trimmer. I have seen the same problem as you have described. I have learned that the string has to be “tightly-wound” onto the hub. You did not mention that you were doing that so I am making a comment. My issue with “tightly-winding” the string is that a third hand helps. I hope that this comment is helpful.
Trimmer is great! It’s actually a beast. Head is also good. It needs a good bump and it will feed. I even use thicker line! Give it a chance and you will be surprised on what it can do.
$449 for everything PLUS batteries is a bargain . Here in the UK lawn mower alone is £360. It folds down small and is not too heavy compared to similar sized petrol mowers .
About the trimmer.. try using another line. Mine is working very nice with the line it came with. It cuts pretty thick weeds and doesn´t use that much batteries.
So i have the same dewalt string trimmer but i agree the head and string is garbage. Thats why I purchased an echo speed feed head and echo black diamond for string.
Nice review, I love DeWALT but I was given a 40 volt Ryobi lawn mower and string trimmer as a gift, the only complaint with Ryobi is their batteries always go bad and they are expensive
I have the same issue with my trimmer. String won't come out ever unless I take it apart. It's now in the garage until I can bury it in the ground. If you discover a good battery trimmer, please share :)
I have all those 3 DeWalt's. Those are my only OPE I have. I have used them for almost 3 years and they work good. Don't love them or hate them but I want some EGO in my life soon just because i believe they will make me more efficient. Time=money.
The company that I work for uses Dewalt rechargeable tools exclusively all day, 12 to 14 hours a day. Those big batteries will be useless within 4 months of our use. Just imagine all the landfills in the US filled with lithium batteries over the next few years. The carbon footprint of lithium and cobalt is way worse than fossil fuels.

Why has no one done a review of either Dewalt #DCMWSP650Y2 (60v) or #DCMWSP256U2 (20v) ???

You can change the trimmer head to an Echo Fast Feed Head and I believe that would solve your problem.
New trimmer head is on its way! Thanks for the HEADs up.
@@ZeroToAwesome Great, you will love the Echo fast feed, it hold a lot of string.
Gotta be something stringing the trimmer. I have two! One for the house and one for the cabin!
And they both trim?! Time wi re-wind and try again.

Have a Echo head on the way, thanks!!

Time for that Ryobi to DeWalt battery adapter?
@@ZeroToAwesome lol yes sir!
People that got the weed trimmer for free to review says good things about it, this is why you only trust reviews when they pay for it.

Even tried the DeWalt branded string and it jammed up. Please dig a grave for two.
Mower is decent but every 4th one i see comes with defective 10AH batteries
This is concerning…
You can put an echo head on that DeWalt string trimmer and have a good machine.
Did that a few weeks ago. Works great.

Saw someone changing the head to a Huskvarna 35T because of the string problems :)
A lot of people have said try the Echo head, I have one ready to swap on. If that doesn’t do the trick I’ll check out the Huskvarna. Thank you!
I feel like that line trimmer could be repurposed into an electric outboard…
I have had similar thoughts… you have a big brass prop lying around anywhere?
Where can we buy a budle like that?
This one was a deal at Ace Hardware.
“Blow the big boy”
That statement is a PICKLE-ABLE offense! You are hereby sentenced to not one, but TWO consecutive Pickle beers.
Why don’t you drive your Time Machine over here and make me?!?
@@ZeroToAwesome because… just like your little red roadster- it doesn’t run (ooooohhh buuuuuurn! 🔥) 🤣🤣🤣
Swap tht trimmer head out with the echo head, so much better quality
I did, it makes the trimmer actually usable!!
DEWALT 20V MAX 14” String Trimmer got a nice folding handle to fit in the trash. It the worst thing Dewalt ever made.
100%
😂👍🏻😂

Stay tuned for next week when I talk about the Tesla we just picked up. :(
