Mochi was originally made with cooked rice and pounded by hand with a wooden spatula to make it into dough ... This would be simplified adaptation of that...

Wow, I'm getting so many ideas. What if you mix it with a chicken broth some sliced green onions little bit of butter etc for a savory taste. For a dessert, mix it with some condensed milk, little bit of water, cinnamon and fried in butter and maybe sprinkle it with some cinnamon as well. Just throwing it out there people. 😲

I just made rice flatbread using 1 part hot water, 1 part dry rice flour, and 2 parts regular flour. Flatten with rolling pin and fry them in butter and dash with flaky sea salt!!! So good!!!

My go to sauce for this is a soysauce water mix with garlic, ginger, sambal olek and a little bit of sugar. I mix in a litte cornstarch so it forms a nice glossy sauce. With that i also toss in chinese cabbage with it and its amazing
Omg these comments🤨 girl keep your head up. Keep doing YOU Thank you for the recipe it’s EXACTLY what i was searching for- Exactly. Thank you for having the courage to share
Great idea. (Mochi is a pounded sweet rice formed into a brick or flat cakes. I'm not sure if it is slightly fermented or not.) I make rice balls out of leftover rice. I blend it half and half with cooked sweet rice. It mixes best if both are warmed first. I form the ball, stuff it with something savory by sticking my thumb in, making a hole inserting the filling. Reroll just enough to cover. Then I wrap each ball in about a quarter sheet of Nori. They're the bomb! They also travel very well. Think long plane rides. I take a large tray to potlucks, but have learned to take a few for myself beforehand as there is never any left over. They have become my go-to "fast food".
@@natalieeubank4533 the instructions: "I blended 2 cups of rice with a quarter cup of water to make mochi, which are japanese rice cakes" She could have just said that she was making a rice cake. Mochi specifically uses glutenous rice and is stretchy. It's like calling bread "cake".
On Sunday nights after church (in Oklahoma) , my mom made rice. We then poured milk over it, like hot cereal, and put some sugar on it. Nothing better. For all other dishes that would normally have rice on the side, I prefer riced cauliflower… it just tastes better.

Mochi MUST BE POUNDED by mallet because it's very stubborn 😄 You have to develop the bonds in the glutinous rice to make it chewy! Regular rice isn't the same, but it still looked delicious!
Sis, you can make a tons of recipes with left over rice: 1. Mix the rice with 2 eggs, peas or other veggies you like, mozzarella cut in small cubes, and a spoon of grated parmesan cheese. 2.Put a little oil in a frying pan and add the rice mix, making sure you shape in a way to fill up the pan. Put a lid on and keep cooking at low flame. 3. Once the bottom is golden, flip it over and cook it at low flame. VEGAN VERSION : Substitute the eggs with chickpea flour mixed with a little water. Substitute cheese with nutritional yeast. Once ready, it should look just like a cake. Slice it and serve it!
