Growing up we used to keep it in the sun for days and deep fry it later. It was a staple in our home. Loved that you made a healthy and tasty version of it. Hi! from California, USA.
Hi, I have always watched Asian and African people dry foods in the sun and I would like to do the same. I noticed that bugs and other insects don't seem to be attracted to the food that is drying. How can I prevent insects from being attracted to food outdoors. Is there something I need to do or know? Thanks in advance.
I just happened to see your video that popped up while watching UA-cam. I subscribed to it because your recipes are great without unnecessary dialogues and to the point. I never subscribe to cooking shows but want to appreciate genuinely and encourage such shows. I am from Toronto, Canada.

These are very close to what we call Sandige in Kannada. It is traditional and made in various shapes, sun dried over 4 to 5 days during mid summer and natured for rest of the year. Required spices are added to the thick batter already. But traditional variety is deep fried. Oven baked ones are most welcome. Thank you.
Thank you for posting this. I was wondering if you could just add the spices to the batter, I will try it this way. I may even try "baking" them in the sun in my hot car in the summer.
I tried this and it is simple, great and tasty. Did 1/3 normal, 1/3 with paprika powder and 1/3 with chili powder. Will do it more and will try more flavors
Beautiful. Only one thing, I guess some ppl like me add salt to their rice, usually most her don't, anyways, if you DO, then I guess in the rice mixture when grinding, be careful least to end up with too salty chips. But really 1st time I saw, very good idea. Easy and fresh too. Thanks.

i think the rice flour was just needed to make the batter thicker, you could use any flour but if you want gluten free stuff go for potato flour or cornstarch
I've just made and I'm surprised. Very good. But it needed little more water for that consistency and I added the spice to the. mixture b4 cooking them...I also used cornstarch as didn't have rice flour
