- SCOTT WITH DALLAS PAINT CORRECTION & AUTO DETAILING IN PLANO TEXAS REVIEWS MEGUIAR'S HOT SHINE TIRE FOAM
Products Used:
Meguiar's Hot Shine Tire Foam - Aerosol Tire Shine for Glossy, Rich Black Tires - G13919, 19 oz - amzn.to/2xsnqZo
I've used this product for a couple years now, BUT I always rub it in and wipe off excess with a rag. I like the look once it's wiped away, and it doesn't sing off. I've been happy with it, but I think I'm going to try lemon pledge next!
I have never seen anyone following instructions so intensely and literally LOL.
If you want a good finished result I would do the same, I agree with mr. dallas
Well for a non detailer pov, they wouldn’t. This guy is a professional, but also we detailers like to discover consumer products that anyone wants to try out. It’s best we get our hands on it to see if it’s worth it.
...and yet he didn’t know it was a foam product 😂 “I don’t even know guys if I’m using this product right “
It’s a tire SHINE. Not a tire CLEANER. Wtf
I wash my tires first then, I add TIRE SHINE. Any person with common sense will know to wash their tire first before adding this on.
It does say it CLEANS, Shines, and Protects. If you have to clean the tire first, then it doesn't clean.
you don’t have wash tires first. The product cleans the dirt itself already. Tried it today. And it shines like crazy. Good product.
Tony Her I agree I use Meguiar’s Foam Tire Shine RELIGIOUSLY..... it works EXCELLENT for Me too
@@twinbrookcommunitychurch7695 You really think it can CleanShine and Protect in one application?.
TechGen lol okay your a hard ass. People waste money on way more unimportant things stop it bud
Dude you need to check yourself into an institution I think you need some help you are taking things too far overboard anybody with a brain should know you spray the product on the tire and it's not going to last a lifetime it's going to get dull again shine it again
Never saw a product so over analyzed. That's all folks.
In my experience, this is the best "natural" not overly shiny product. This review is great though, you need to thoroughly wash the car and wheels/tires first, then just before you wipe down the car apply the foam and let it sit. Often I use light application first before washing then do another coat for finish.
Exactly
I don't think its meant to be as serious as you are making. I wash my tires first with truck shampoo. I let it dry, then I add hot shot for the finishing touches. Same for detailing or waxing! I appreciate the review!
1:38 It also says it conditions, and give the tire uv protection wonderful great. If that actually is even true ? I don’t know I don’t care IM TIRED OF IT 🤣🤣🤣🤣
To be fair, it's marketed as a tire shine and it did what was advertised. The average person doesn't care if they're simply hiding dirt, for them the tyre is black and shiny, job complete.
the first line of the product is=the thick, active foam powers through build-up to reveal a deep, black shine!..CLEANS,SHINES AND PROTECTS...notice clean comes before any other benefits of product..as i said BUILD-UP is a slippery slope:)...i honor those who like the product but if its just a tire shine, why not take the clean and build-up off the bottle?...amazing marketing IMO:)
did it clean the tire?
ur right, it did what the main point of it was meant to do
Exactly!
these retail products are targeted for the general public not the professional detailers which you guys generally do things the correct way the but guy who is just washing his car on a saturday before going out does not care just shine and ride with as little effort as possible meguiars makes more money from the average joe than professional detailer
super clean
the great all mighty G
I clean my wheel and tire first with a brush, rince and when the tire are dry i Apply this stuff and my tire are crazy clean and the shine last à long time. I love this stuff
Well u are right about the washing hands but mate think we wash the tyre before u put the tyre shine on and tyre shine is not ment to wash the tyre it is only to look good on the road so what’s the problem I think the product is good for what kind of shine it brings to the tyres
I used wheel cleaner on my wheels and tires first. You can see the brown dirt just running down from the tires. Hose off well, let dry, the tire SHINE.
Just for giggles, it would have been interesting to see what it would look like if just wiped down with a microfiber cloth.
i was thinking the same thing scott should of at least get it off the tires even if it was a worst thing in the world haha
It would probably look better if he left it on than wiping any of it off lol
it's like going number 2 and not wiping....lol. sorry ur comment was great mine is awesome...😃😃
Starts spraying at 3:40 for everyone who just wants to see the results of the product
Thank you good sir, this dude can make a 45min review on qtips
Thank you. Fuck.
It doesn’t say tire cleaner wth?
I'll use it during the process of washing my car...I'll agitate it and rinse it off then wipe it down..comes out decent in my opinion!
Yes, but what his point is, is that the directions say nothing about agitating the tire. I says only to spray and walk away. I think it is kind of decent, if that is all you had, but you can't get those results without going outside of the directions.
SCOTT, WHERE'S THE SHOT AFTER IT'S DRIED???
i didn't want it to try and i removed it from the tire and cleaned it throughly and properly with super clean and used a water based tire dressing:)
let me save you some wasted time: bro reviews a tire SHINE as if it’s a dedicated tire CLEANER.
This guy complains too much. Either it works or it doesnt. Come on man!
Damn that's shiny!!!!
I agree ... This product is HORRIBLE. Tires look worse after using as directed. Had to use Wheel and Tire CLEANER to get the film off. DO NOT USE !!!
I use this from time to time strictly for tire shine. I first clean the wheels and tires very thoroughly and let them dry before I spray it. I like it because of the foam the wind is not as effective in carrying it vs most sprays and I've never experienced any sling whatsoever. I like the shine but to advertise as a cleaner is laughable
To be fair the tire looked much improved after using the product than when he started LOL.
It’s ideal if you use an applicator and doesn’t splatter on the paint. Doesn’t dissolve after rain. However the directions are wrong, it is just for the shine and again best with an applicator
I get a huge amount of use out of one can... One can lasts me 1.5 summers. I apply the product to a microfiber foam pad then scrub the tire with it and it looks beautiful and lasts about a week here in Atlantic Canada. But yes, this crap just gets absorbed into the dirt and puts a gloss on the dirt residue if applied directly to the tire and isn't scrubbed.
This guy. Doesn't know much . What can you expect of a recommendation from some 1 whom Doesn't know much.
Buy it try it. It's worth it if you know better than this guy.
Dude it’s not that serious, just clean your tire and spray. What’s with all of these cry babies Channel
Awful! Slings all over the place. I am so surprised that 3M would offer such an awful product.
You're taking things wayyy too seriously. 90% of people don't wash and degrease their tires first, or care about the depth of the cleaning, they just spray the shit on and wash it off and want to see a shine, even if it's temporary.
1st of all it shouldn’t be dirt on the tires before u apply the tire shine….🤦🏾♂️
actually it works real well i spray it on all 4 tires scrub it and then wash the tires after i follow up with the meguiars endurance tire gel looks niec and shiny for a few weeks
bro you sprayed half the bottle on one tire thats insane.
It actually doesn't sling all over once dried. That's one advantage of it. The disadvantage is it's messy.
i just used it, let alone cleaning, it does not even shine, about to return it to Wmart.
Awesome stuff. I just used it and you don't need to spray as much as he did above. He's going to deep into it. Its tire shine with a little cleaner and it works great. I sprayed it on today without washing my car at all. Its $4.50 at Walmart!!!! One of the best I've used
Talked way to much before and after getting to the point
I like it forget using there cleaner i like hot shine but you have to rub it in with applicator...also mr.clean you sprayed to much it doesn't clean you need to clean tire 1st with a degreaser rinse/dry then then apply hot shine
Thank you for help. Greetings from Ukraine.
I did not think of it like that. I got this tire shine in a Meguire's kit that was marked down at Walmart. I did read the directions & couldn't see where it would make sense to put any dressing/spray of any kind (no matter what it claims) on a dirty tire. So of course I always wash my vehicle (& tires) before applying it. When applied to clean, dry tires, this stuff is actually ok. I do let it fully dry/cure because I'd rather not have to rewash the any sling off (if that happens). Is this the best product? Nope. Is it the worst? Nope. Just like with any product that we as consumers use. Read directions, use them as a guide line & don't forget common sense. I don't care whose name is on the label., no product is spray & walk away. Not without cleaning first.
This is tire SHINE, not a cleaner!
who puts tire shine on their car without washing it?
This product sounds like marketing "Mumbo Jumbo"!
This video could have been under 1 minute.
As per the directions, I think it failed somewhat. But I would of used it after I washed the tire spray that on then wipe off the extra. But that is just me. I do like your reviews Scott
Lol I only get it for the shine just wash your tire before
he he. when i was in the army. (norway) i used break fluid on the truck`s tire. tires looks better than new after. but wat its di whith the rubber i dont know
What was this guy expecting?
Can I use this on motorcycle?
You clearly need a break. Who put dressing on anything not cleaned first? I’ve been detailing for years and never confused tire shine with a dry cleaner. The glossy finish is the bonus AFTER prepping the surface.
I have it and it's nice
I just forward to the actual use of products...too much talking.
I like this stuff
The tyre end result is epic. Wat you smoking scott
I got this in a package deal from autozone. I use degreaser and a drillbrush to clean the tire and then After I dry the tire I'll use this as a tire shine and even then it's pretty half ass. I've used it on my car a few times now and I'm glad I didn't pay much for it :p
At 6:25 of your video on the lower left side of tire the white foam is definitely brown in colour meaning it is actually cleaning the tire how much it’s cleaning who knows but it’s cleaning something to be discoloured.
I know every car enthusiast has love for meguiars but honestly out of all the products I've used there are other manufacturers that make products better than meguiars. I use multiple different brands on my car because I think every maker is better at one thing than another. But to those who love meguiars hey go for it, but I honestly don't care for them.
Good product bad review!
solvent ingredients do the job that you say don´t..
This stuff is garbage! Most of these are! If it rains it washes away and then ur tires look worse than before
Its does work but it's not the proper way to do things! If want my tires to look better for a few days I'll buy this but if I have a cherry car I'll do it professionally!
I use that foam every time and it works great.... I don't wash the tire, I just use the foam
even if you use as directed..are you saying every two weeks you use the product and the tire never gets dirty or needs to be scrubbed and flushed?...or perhaps you just need a shiny tire and it being clean is not a priority?...just wondering how you use the product...thanks for the comment:)
I would only go as far as the circle you see before the tread, you sprayed the tread which for turning would effect it. I would use a rag and wipe it on even if foam.
I use this but I agitate it with a brush then a tire and wheel cleaner after that and apply it again to give it a shine works good for me and the shine is not that deep and glossy but it leaves them black with a bit of shine
Spot on,I also don't think it does much either!
i like using this inside my wheel wells and it leaves a nice shine after wiping off excess from tires but is there people that don’t wash their tires when getting a car wash
This spray gave my new BFg ko2 a stain two tone sunburst and rusty color. I don't know if is I didn't wash tires first, but spray say you don't have to. I had to restore my tires with Meguairs Back-To-Black tire cleaner.
So Scott if it didn't say that it cleans and you must agitate first before spraying on....how would you review the product
I completely agree with your video and I do use this but I guess I never read the directions because I did clean first and then sprayed .
I do love how long it last becaus I've been using water based dressings and hate how any rain will dry my tires right up and look unprofessional as far as a just cleaned tire.
I use this on my follow up washes. Or maintenance wash. I spray on and wipe off with microfiber towel. And my costumers are happy with the results. After tires i do a rinseless wash. On the car.
Every time I use this I spray it onto the tire then I scrub the tire down and then wipe it off you don’t just apply it and let it sit
I’m torn between this tire foam, the tire spray and the the tire gel from Meguiars. I have all three. I think the gel holds up better when it rains.
Scott, I believe there is one that is not a foam. It's just a clear aerosol that doesn't foam once sprayed
I know it doesn't say to do it, but how does it work if you agitate it, then rinse?
I received complements on the appearance of my tires after using this! One from a coworker and the other from my wife (who is now insisting I use it when washing her car).
I used this product before looking up any reviews.
I cleaned my tires/wheels while washing the vehicle, as always. I sprayed on the foam and then wiped off my wheels from overspray as per the directions. I let the product dry and that's all. Tires look great...
This product works very similar to Armor All’s Tire Foam. Whoever the manufacturer is, I have a feeling that both Armor All and Meguiars paid them to put their name on the can. That being said, Scott is right. You have to clean the tire first with a dedicated tire cleaner or a degreaser like purple power or super clean. Then use this product afterwards and wipe off the excess because it will sling off onto your paint.
That’s how I personally use this product.
I don't think letting the proudct work on the tire under bright sun is a good thing.
Seems like a product that will damage wheels with the time.
ok
I remember using that stuff when I was 12
i use this you have to clean the tire
Build up is build up. Stop trying to be a NASA scientist.
What do you recommend as a good rubber cleaner for my tires to prep for a tire dressing?
Christopher ramirez check out his other videos...
thanks Ralph:)...but i would recommend super clean or meguiars super degreaser....tire really needs to be clean so dressing has the best chance to bond...love you my friend Ralph:)
This whole comment section reads like a special needs teacher having to give a kid a bad grade
If getting the dirt off the tire is so important, do you always wash and agitate the back of the tire and the tire treads also?
I'll say this, and take from it what you will.
Given a lot of us use "scrubbing bubbles" to clean our bathrooms, it's not far fetched that consumer would believe a foam can clean a tire.
I've tried this stuff before, and I sprayed it on fairly heavily. The extra foam flowed down from the tire onto my concrete floor, and was saturated with dirt & gunk.
The end result was "sealing" the dirt into the porous concrete with a layer of tire shine - I really wish it *didnt* pull dirt off my tires.
So yeah... it can and does do worse things than not cleaning a tire.
Now forgive me, but I need to borrow a pressure washer to get this crap off of my garage floor.
so when you use "scrubbing bubbles" you don't rinse or wipe off after using the product?....how is that working for you?
Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing to bring back an old thread: it’s been close to a year now and the drippings from my first use are finally gone.
I didn’t bother with the stuff since then, because, as I said, it does worse things than not cleaning my tires.
Still, I decided to try it again, in an “extreme” sort of test... after driving on a dusty dirt road (but before leaving it) I gave the tires a shot of this stuff. Just to see if dirt came off.
Not only did nothing come off this time, but a silicone-moisturized “mud” covered the tires. Yum.
Some super clean and a rinse fixed that. What can I say? You were right. The tire foam didn’t clean the tires, and super clean is good stuff.
Don't apologize for calling out a corporation for putting out an inferior product with bullshit claims intended to rip off the mainstream car owner who doesn't know any better. You're a nice guy, sometimes too nice. Love your videos. Keep up the good work.
I guess I shoudn't be surprised this product was on sale for $8 at Longs Drugs... I cleaned my tires with wheel & tire cleaner first and then applied the foam... seemed like it pretty must dripped off instead of soaking in. Tires look OK but I think that's just because they're clean now. Don't see much shine at all and even a matte shine would have worked for me. I'm gonna try it again and rub it in with a terrycloth rag or something this time. I assume it's just a silicone based tire shine or something to that effect in a foam version instead of liquid.
Hey Scott. In my career background (food manufacturing), the basics on proper cleaning boil down to the following and in the respective ratios:
1. Chemistry - The right chemical for the soiling. You would not use an acid cleaner to go after grease soiling.
2. Concentration - The right concentration (usually, a lot is not better, but a waste of $).
3. Time/Temperature - The higher the temperature usually does the job, not in every case.
4. Mechanical Action - Usually in the form of friction or even laminar flow will do the job.
And you'll need to balance out the above 4 areas appropriately in order to clean. Meaning, that if you do not have enough mechanical action, maybe a longer dwell time or higher concentration of chemistry will compensate. Or if you have excellent mechanical action, you will not need a lot of chemical and/or dwell time to clean.
Enough about food manufacturing, but applying the same principles to this foaming cleaner proves these types of products are a sham and a waste of money for most. It is not realistic for a foam to "clean" a tire in a few minutes without coming up with a chemistry that would need to break through the surface build up. That formulation does not exist - at least not today. Even with a straight caustic cleaner like super clean, you may need to repeat cleaning 2x or even 3x with high scrubbing in order to "clean" the surface if the definition of "clean" is to ... well, clean. To foam and walk away to come back with a clean, dressed tire is hogwash. My opinion.
Love Meguiar's though. They are my go-to for paint protection and correction and absolutely love their paint products, but I don't love their or anybody else's foam cleaners.
Thanks for the video. Reminds me buying this stuff like 7 years ago and remembering how disappointed I was. I was so disappointed that I forgot to ask for a refund. LOL
I dont usually like the foam version of this, but the spray.
I innocently bought this product on a retail level, and was manipulated at my worst. IT did nothing for my tires. :(
can you do an update on the trailer tire that you cleaned?
Anything that makes tires shine EVEN IF it gets the tire clean, is a sham. Tire "rubber" isn't shiny. The only time tires look shiny is BEFORE the mold release wax is cleaned off.
A detail shop waxed my matte paint! Omg! I used this on the matte paint, brought it back from the dead! This product GO!
Im still looking for a tire dressing that won't sling all over😩
I hate this stuff, it made my dad's tires brown and it won't come out.
My findings also.... Using up the can on plastic wheel well liners.
Very informative review!
I tried this stuff and don't like it
Great review, objective
