Love the consistency of your videos, where you are, what bait, weather conditions, and of course the lunch/dinner segments. And Amelia's joy is so touching.
Great to see you guys back at Lake Mary. One of our favorite lakes since 1955. We've fished in sunshine, heavy winds, sleet, rain and snow, just makes it more fun and challenging, right? Too bad Amelia didn't catch her first fish, but it will happen soon! I caught my first trout at age three with my dad at the East Fork of the San Gabriel River and I've never forgotten it, seventy-two years later. The Sierra and fishing restores your soul and spirit and fills you with memories that will last a lifetime. Amelia will thank you for all of this for the rest of your lives.
Yes this last trip we were hit with all sorts of different weather conditions. Challenging for sure! Too cold for Kristine and Amelia. Are you planning on going to the opener next year? Thats awesome you were able to remember from the age of 3. Yes definitely, all these memories will last a lifetime. Might have to start venturing out a little more to different locations for newer experiences.
I booked our first trip next year at the end of June. Just in case we have another snowy winter and flooding. We used to fish in snow and sleet and rain, but now, we are more wimpy and prefer sunshine and warmth. I liked your poetry. @@ExploreNaturesCatch
Looks like a great time my friend, same way my family was a long time ago, my daughter is 30 now and has her own family, your content takes me back to those days in the Sierra's, stick with it, beautiful family
Appreciate you watching, glad we are able to bring back some of those memories for you. Had a great time out there and now for the long wait for the opener next year!
This was actually our last day from our previous trip when I caught the big one. Weather made it tough, I ended up getting stuck in the snow at lake Mary. First time that ever happened. Looking forward to the opener next year! Are you planning on going?
Carey, brother !...once again, im envious in a good way out there making memories with the fam.. I like how eloquently you describe the outing .. it sounds so poetically narrated...😊
@@ExploreNaturesCatch not sure yet about fishing trips. I will be going to Nev and Az in Jan and Feb. Not many places to fish in the desert. Happy Holidays to you and your family.
Mahalo for the videos family. I can't get up to the Eastern Sierras as often as you all hunting is my main passion and there is only so much time and disposable income LOL but your videos are the next best thing. Going up May 10 for a few days with brother John hopefully some of the lakes are thawed out by then. Regards
Thanks for watching. We will be back up there right before you. Looks like a lot of the lakes are cleared up already. Hopefully it will be a great fishing trip for us both. Good luck out there! Let us know how it goes!
Dude you are nutz fishing in those snowy conditions !!! Is this the same trip you caught the 8 lb'er or a later trip. If I woke up in the resort and saw snow... no effing way I'm going fishing. thanks for bringing us along on another adventure! 👍👍
Yeah it was a little rough when the snow got heavy. I actually ended up getting stuck in the snow at lake Mary, had to dig myself out. I should have recorded it but i was running out of daylight so i had to hurry lol. Yes this was the last day of the trip when I caught that big one. Thanks for watching and now for the long wait for the opener next year! Happy holidays!
Hey man been watching your videos forever now! And me and my fam own a condo right up in mammoth and I go fishing every single time we go up! In really inspired by your channel, and would love to get some tips for fishing mammoth for every season! We’ve been going since I was 4 and it’s cool to see someone with the same passion fishing the same waters!
Appreciate you sticking around with us all this time. That’s awesome your family has a condo up there! Does your family usually go up for the opener? One thing I find pretty consistent is the big ones like to bite early mornings and close to sunset. Being active and walking around the lake doing some sight fishing increases the chance of the big one too. You can see them cruising around the shores most of the time. Hope to see you out there one of these days!
I keep telling myself I'm going to go up there one of these years and fish the late season avoid the crowds. I should combine with a hunting trip I'm up 395 several times each Fall chasing Predators anyway. I could take 1 rig, a net a few tackle items hit up the Mammoth Lakes for a few hours...
Late season is really nice, we are usually out there in the beginning and end. What months is hunting season out there? I need to look into that more and try that out.
@@ExploreNaturesCatch There are several general deer season (rifle) hunting zones in that area. I can tell you the Mammoth Lakes are withen zone X9A for 2024 it opens 9-21 through 10/14. I've Hunted big game in Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, Utah and Texas. Cali not so much. For the most part my big game hunting days are over, to old and to fat LOL! But I still chase predators, the hills arn't as steep, the elevation is usualy under 5K and I don't have to drag out 200+ pounds of dead weight. I've had a good run, many adventures killed my share of trophies. My wifes's Hula sisters say our living room reminds them of Disney's Country bear jamboree with all the mounts and such LOL
@@ExploreNaturesCatch Deer, Elk, and big game seasons in general run anywhere from mid September to Mid December depending on the state. These days you have to be a Lawyer and a Surveyor to figure out the regs. Coyotes are legal year round but I don't start calling them until September and hunt through Jan Thers a season for Bobcats or there was. Fish and Wildlife put a five year pause on Babcat hunting that should be up soon but I'm not holding my breath. Once we lose something here In CA we never get it back. There's no shortage Bobcats or Mt Lions here in CA but CA Fish and Wildlife cower to the animal rights groups it's all political. Gone are the days of proper wildlife management and the harvest of these cats so they dont put a strain on other wildlife. If the Anti hunters had their way, fishing would be next. In fact they have a slogan "Fishing Hurts"

Always love your vids!!!!!! Know these spots well. Always producing table fare. Just wondering,,,,,,,,,,, was this prior to Nov. 15th ??? Happy Holidays ma fellow fishing friend🎣🐟
Appreciate you always watching the videos. Yes this was the last week of the season. Day after I caught that big one. Happy holidays to you as well! Now the long wait for the opener. I need to head out to another lake asap.
Oh really? Nice! Thanks for letting me know. It was actually the first time I submitted photos. I’ll probably start doing that more often. I’ll have to go check that out.

Thanks for watching brotha, just trying different things to add into the videos. Added a couple poetic quotes in this one 😆.
It is so beautiful there with or without the snow. You are very brave to fish in the snow. Thanks for the video.
Yes both beautiful. Glad we got to experience both on our last trip. Any fishing trips coming up for you?

This channel is like Outdoor Chef Life but in the future when settled down with children. Subscribed, you look like him too and married a Chicana
