"I didnt adopt a child because i couldnt post it on social media for a year." I feel so bad for any future kids they manage to adopt.
They had a biological child instead.
I hope none.
@@laniinla2354another one of them exists now? Great
Surely someone sent this to the adoption agency no??
@@laniinla2354 course they did. Fuck sakes. Poor kid
"I have a different filter of common sense." That quote just says it all. Anybody else would just be happy to adopt a child.
It shows again that common sense is not common, sadly.
Yeah that's like Saying "my truth" 🤷♂️
Wow. I can't believe I can't exploit the child. Why the hell would I adopt a kid if I can't exploit them for clout?
Just to help some kid? Ew.
🤣 People are gross.
Ok but imagine this, is the child gonna be taken back to the orphanage if they even mention him her or perhaps even give updates just because they r happy or proud with the child and their progress or something. Not to mention, whats gonna happen if they post a family photo on like instagram for example. Is the baby gonna go bye bye? Thats ridiculous. R they supposed to shove them in the basement for a year without having them ever appear or be mentioned online the entire time. Thats not good for the child. Also im not referring to the couple but just in general. Just my thoughts tho, could be wrong.
@@frost.0707 😂 I agree with you I'm just curious if they broke the rules what would happen
Well me I rather not find out
That's how most horror movies start 😂😂
People like them are probably exactly WHY Thailand has that law
I also think child porn etc
@lkctom2546 these laws aren't going to prevent child porn lmao. Why would someone care about laws saying you can't have pictures of a child when they're doing something inherently worse.
Yup …. Incase its part of a publicity stunt ..
Exactly
This is a rule worldwide I have frinds Who adopted recently in Italy and they have the same rule
What I think is that these kinds of people are the reason adoption is such a painstaking process in most countries around the world...
Exactly these people would be Bad parents. They shouldn't get a child.
I was just thinking…maybe these are the types of people they’re trying to keep away from Thai kids. The stipulation worked 😆
My thoughts exactly! these losers make make it hard on good people who actually want a shot at being good parents!
Yeah, they talk about it like they're adopting a dog from a shelter...
@@n.a.4292 I hope to hell they don’t have pets. We all love pet videos but these folks are awful
"We prayed on it."
"Dear God, please help us to find a loophole in Thailand law so I'll be able to exploit my adopted child online for views."
Wow. They're not good people. That's insane.
But cmon man, she said *first they slept on it*! So they’re totes decent people!
I really wanna know the average intelligence level of their fans.
I think she spelled prey wrong. 🤢
God: "Oh hell no!"
The one year rule seems entirely sensible to me. Lots of things can go wrong in adoption so not finalizing for a year makes sense.
Am I the only one who think that by talking about this, they kinda broke the rule?
It should be illegal to post pictures of minors outside of closed groups. Period. There's no reason to exploit your children, ever.
@@JuMiKu so no more kids in movies then? What about public?
@Mike A I would assume if a kid is a child actor getting paid it's different but then again... babies certainly aren't consulted on what scripts they accept and the parents are the ones getting paid. On the other hand cgi babies just loom creepy. There's a lot of nuance in that statement...
@@TimothyCollins the original statement I replied to is stupid. Making a law against posting a child’s image is asinine. Children are visible, and recorded, ANY time they leave the house.
I thank god that this child was not put into the care of a family channel 🙏
And where is your god in the first place? Why was this kid ever in need to be adopted?
Thanks thailand
yep. their life would have been hell
Going to a foreign adoption agency for the purposes of finding a subject for a channel you want to make a living off of is basically human trafficking.
he missed a bullet for sure
Isn’t this the same couple that put down their dog even though the dog had trauma and didn’t set boundaries and technically let there child get bitten?
Yes
It is the same couple 😓
If they really did that, they should be in jail for case of extremaly heavy animal abuse
They are the same couple who put their dog down after the dog bit their child sadly😓
Yes. And they had a cutesy photoshoot with the dog and kid together beforehand. 🤢🤮 To remember the dog by.
Those two are sociopaths.
I am happy for the child.
We all are
The kid dodged a bullet and I'm happy for that
Hopefully that child will be adopted to an actual loving family
Yeah, any kid would be lucky to not be exploited.

As a Thai, I’m really glad they ended up not adopting Thai child

The boyfriend stare probably comes from the fact that this is _her_ thing and he is not going to risk upsetting _her_ thing. Notice how she keeps looking back to him. While body language is tricky, that gives me the feeling she's looking to her partner for validation to what she's thinking, and he's not going to call her out.

You are speaking my language.

elect this man as president he spiting facts
I genuinely cannot figure out why it's not. Mind boggling
I like how he said, "Nikki has a UA-cam channel" and then she says "we". I think we have pinpointed the reason for his lack of interest. I like how she said "let's pray on it" to try and sound wholesome and virtuous, and somehow 'praying' on it led to _not_ adopting a child. Oh, wait, she meant _prey_ on it. As in, prey on the child. I get it now.
Oh my god I couldn’t believe August didn’t comment on that! That sent off so many alarm bells in my head! Definitely sounds like the dude doesn’t want to be associated with the account. Can’t help wondering what happened behind the scenes and if there were arguments about adopting the baby.
@@malevolentsnow9867The resigned looks to the side, the defeated tone of voice, the cowed demeanor, he doesn't want to be a part of this any more than he wants to cut off his arm. However, there is the off chance she'll be in the mood later that night. If you notice, they aren't married, at least I saw no rings. She wears the pants, and he just wants to get in them.
They’re right wing Christians thus very much married.
It's called a Freudian Slip.
I don't think that's what it was really. I don't think they ever really intended on adopting a child at all. They probably knew that Thailand had this social media policy in place before starting the adoption process. The whole thing seemed very manufactured. Idk if they ever named the agency the went with but I wouldn't be at all surprised if their was never an adoption agency in the first place.
To me this entire thing screams narcissistic pathological liars. Maybe they were in talks with an adoption agency in Thailand but I HIGHLY doubt it.
Back to the Freudian slip... If it was a slip I don't think it was related to the adopted child, but rather the audience and the situation as a whole.
"Pray on it" not in relation to the imaginary child but to the entire situation and the people watching that they are profiting off of.
I think the audience is the 'prey.'
But regardless that was a good catch. I didn't notice that and its probably nothing but it could definitely be a classic Freudian slip.
the fact that BOTH of them keep referring to a baby in need of adoption as "the kid" gives me the heebie jeebies
At least they didn't call it "the kiddo" that's the one that creeps me out.
They might be aiming to use a pronoun that doesn't reveal any info about them incase that gets them in trouble.
@@AaaaNinja how bout "our child" or "our young one" or shit anything but THE kid
the reason why they cant use "our" kid is because they haven't adopted it yet nor will they

@@maysullivan7943I don’t see how else they’d refer to the child though… It’s not “their” child, and they might’ve been avoiding using pronouns for whatever reason.

They didn't even have to re-home the dog. The dog was eating and the kid was bothering it. Ofc it was gonna snap.

Fun fact: this couple went on to have a biological child and when their dog snapped at the kid once because the kid was messing around in the dogs food bowl while the dog was eating they had a photo shoot with the dog and then EUTHANIZED THE DOG. (They said they ‘tried’ to rehome him but that explanation falls flat with the slightest follow up).
Wait wait for real???
I feel like other countries are making laws like this BECAUSE of family channels like this that adopt foreign children for profit rather than out of love. I feel like the law should be stricter and prevent family channels from posting about their adopted child until they’re an adult, just to save these kids from this terrible fate.
Family channels legitimately don't care about the kids they just see them as a paycheck
To be fair, it was good of the guy to donate his brain to someone who really needed one
They should really be in jail or prison for what they did to their dog!
They should
Yes! I forgot that happened with these two until I read your comment. They are vile & should never be permitted to care for animals or children.
Yeah it does seem cruel, but I’m not so sure that’s the right thing to do.
Don’t get me wrong, what they did to their dog was awful, but animal lives don’t really matter as much as a human life is. I do believe animal cruelty is awful and something that animals don’t need to go through.
My family had to put down two dogs in the past. Our cocker spaniel, Lady, was 13 years old and was dying to old age, and it broke everyone’s hearts that we had to put her down. Another dog we had was a wiener dog named Maggie that fell in the hole we had in our backyard (we moved since then) and suffered from eternal bleeding, so we had to put her down.
So putting down a dog is somewhat better than letting them suffer and die slowly, but if the dog was healthy was traumatized, they shouldn’t have put him down and instead give it away.
@@t1mburt0nsdandruff I’m so sorry for the loss of you and your family’s dogs!!
@@t1mburt0nsdandruff You are comparing two completely different things. Some countries allow euthanasia. iirc they put down their dog because it was inconvenient for them, if they're the same couple I'm thinking of
@@Romanticoutlaw There's another comment talking about that, apparently the puppy was traumatized and they didn't set appropriate boundaries, allowing them to bite their kid. Then put down the poor puppy as a result of their own negligence.

When a video opens with a clip from the topic of the video, rather than an intro you know it’s going to be painful.
One of their most popular videos is about how they put down their dog because they failed as dog owners.
I agree with you about family channels. This is the same couple that put their dog down, their dog was a healthy 9 year old bull terrier. There are so many other things they could have done differently to avoid all of that.
I firmly believe that we need more rules like this to protect children from being exploited on the internet. Being posted online from a young age could have long-term consequences for the child. We need to do more to protect them.
Did you see the controversy over them putting their dog down but having a photo shoot first

I think they have that law because other family vloggers adopted a disabled Taiwanese boy and they ended up just giving him away because he was a lot to handle (witch they knew before the adoption.) It was a huge thing a few years back the whole situation was so sad.
That's fucked up. Those people deserve to be in prison.
@@liamx6636 absolutely agree. My brother is disabled and I couldn’t imagine him being given to a random family after my family had adopted him. That family had I think 5 or 6 kids already and the reason they tossed this disabled adopted kid is because the woman got pregnant AGAIN 7th time I do believe and decided it was too much to raise a baby and a down syndrome baby at the same time. I believe her quote was”it’s not fair for my baby to have less time given to them because I’m dealing with this child with disabilities.” Mind you the disabled child she spoke of was her kid they adopted him that makes it your child. They just wanted views and clicks and when they didn’t get praise for being so kind and wonderful for taking in a disabled boy they tossed the kid onto some random viewer in a different state I believe then hid it until the viewers figured out the kid was no ware to be seen in her videos and she never mentioned the boys name again that’s when they reported her to the authorities and all came out. They pretty much just erased that baby boy from existence. I wonder how the other kids felt being given a brother they loved to have him just disappear one day. They then tried to make us a story about this kid being so violent they couldn’t deal with him when until she got pregnant everything was fine and dandy then suddenly they paint him as Freddy Kruger or something. They made this poor disabled immigrant baby look like hell spawn. So sad. I hate family bloggers because of this crap. It’s all about attention no matter who it hurts.
I like how she jokes about signing an nda like everyone’s been through it
The reason they have that rule is so the child isn't taken advantage of. Remember that couple who adopted that Asian boy and because he had some problems they couldn't exploit him and washed their hands of him when they had their own baby to post on UA-cam.
That is one super weird and CREEPY couple. I could see a horror movie made about them where they randomly kidnap people and imprison them, dressing them up and forcing them to play roles for their "perfect family" you tube videos.
As someone with a 10 year old daughter, I have no social media outside of UA-cam. I don't want her pictures online until she's old enough to fully understand and be able to make that choice herself to post pictures of herself. I don't see the obsession with sharing every aspect of your childs lives online, let alone for thousands of strangers, it's creepy frankly.
I don’t need to say what I think August, cause you said it ALL! NOTE: When I had my first and only child, I wouldn’t let ANYONE take their photo, (except close responsible family members). No videos that may end up online! I was EXTREMELY protective and almost didn’t let them enroll in a particular daycare as it was a rule they snap a photo of them for their files, (Im guessing in case they ran away or went missing then they’d have a photo for police?). Rather over protective than subject them to lack of privacy and that kind of exposure, especially for selfish reasons!
hope you feel better soon August! 🙏
It's super funny that they were going through Holt. Holt also does a sponsorship program, in a few different countries including Thailand. Basically you send them money to take care of a kid's basic needs and they send you photos, letters, and other updates. I sponsored a child through this organization...
When I was 11. The girl couldn't have been more than 3 years younger than I was. She was probably closer to 9. Somehow I, as a little child, was willing to support a kid I hardly knew a bit about, and woah! I never talked about it online, AT ALL! Until now, I suppose. In fact I didn't even talk about it to people any less close than immediate family, unless they saw a picture and asked. It's almost like I actually just wanted to help a kid less fortunate than myself. Crazy.
This is like watching a SNL sketch
So, in the 50's my grandparents adopted 2 children because they were slaves to their social standings, and back then a married couple with no children were frowned upon. They didn't want to be parents deep down, and they treated those children like crap. I've seen the aftermath of this type of behavior first hand, my whole life, and it makes me sick to my stomach.
Feel better, August. We love you!
He is like please shut up please shut up while also being a yes man
August has gotten sick this year more than I have in the past 5
Hay August! Didn't there used to be a "family" channel here on UA-cam where the parents RETURNED THEIR ADOPTED CHILD? And it all came out that the only reason they adopted the child/children was to showcase them on their channel?
I wish i could remember the details so i could look it up.
All adoption agencies should blacklist this couple, imo.
I hope you get feeling better soon.
Yes! the husband (who looks like an adult toddler) still runs his car restoration channel like nothing happened.
@@mst3kanita jfc That figures. Thank-you for sharing!
5:30 these dudes always look this way, because they realize how ridiculous and insane this all is. I've seen some dad's who are way too into this crap who are dragging the whole family along, but I often dudes with dead eyes. They've thrown their lives in with these rampant, abusive, narcissists, and they're beaten. That's what that face is. A defeated man, who has stopped pointing out how insane this all is.
"Dan's like maybe we could deal with that for a year.."
This statement makes me think that guy was ok with the law..
Love the videos, man. Keep it up!!!
So I actually kind of agree with them on the not wanting to have a year with their kid before the adoption is finalized part....I mean I don’t know the details of Thailand’s policy specifically, and of course I do appreciate a country wanting their kids to be in a healthy home, but it also means that various socio-political issues that cause countries to close adoptions periodically could result in a loving home loosing their child after months or a year through absolutely no fault of their own. I know of this happening sadly and it’s absolutely devastating for the kid and parents. But yeah if seems like they care more about the social media part, which is ridiculous. It’s not like they can’t take pictures of their child for the first year, they just can’t post it on social media. Can’t believe they actually said “we don’t want to violate anyone’s privacy who isn’t our child” 😖😬
I don’t trust anyone who thinks that high neck tank top goes with those overalls. I automatically don’t trust any decision this woman makes in her life.
