This video was largely made in three days, which is far far less time than I usually have. Likely, as a consequence, this video will not meet some peoples general expectations from the channel. I'm sorry for that. I wanted this to be this weeks video and that was not a good idea lmao. Like I said at the end, if there is something I didn't touch on you want to hear about, leave a comment and I'll try to get to it. EDIT: Correction: 'hero' in katakana was not used throughout the whole arc, just a specific chapter.
Personally i think the difference between a monster and a hero that phase 7 tackles the most can be seen with Garfiel and Kafma. Kafma - Someone who was special among his own people, quite literally built different and an individual who went through countless unimaginable suffering for the sake of his own people. He was to become their hero, the person who would carry their hopes and dreams but along the way people began to see him as a monster, became scared of him and distances themselves from him, to the point that Kafma wanted to get away from his tribe, to escape from them and find a light to chase. Garfiel - Someone who trained to become the strongest to protect his own people from the outside world, quite a "monster" on his own, his transformation being the one where he loses control and might even start killing people from anger, yet people of the Sanctuary never labeled him as a monster, he was respected as "shield of the Sanctuary" and he embodied it to a T(way too much so ;d ). One could say he was the hero of his people, a hero who carried their hopes, dreams and...fears. Of course there are countless monsters in that world and in reality too, people who are bad individuals and committing awful acts. Heroes are people who are respected and looked upon by one,few or many. Yet sometimes the difference between these two can be as thin as it can get, society and people label things in the world in a certain way, they might even label a monster as a hero and a hero as a monster... Thank you for reading if you made it this far! of course this is my own personal view on things and it could be total nonsense to you or it might be a total nonsense in general lul
I highkey agree this world loves Evil and calls it good yet it will call Good Bad they choose the Darkness instead of the Light. I mean imagine being perfectly morally good yet still dying like you lived an evil life now imagine having all power
In Volume 32, the Commandment of Thorns had its name changed to the Bondage of Thorns. _Sounds nice, doesn't it?_ To quote what a scholar once said, it can mean "bondage as in grounding to the world, and bondage as in an emotional connection". It's definitely true.
Cool video Mr. Ratha. I especially like the point at 1:13:26, which clearly drew influence from Buddhist philosophy, regarding the cycle of death and rebirth as perceived from the realm of those who have reached true enlightenment. Great stuff.
this is random but one of my favorite interactions from this arc is rem and katya. its cool how similar they are and then its also tense because we know the people protecting both of them are arch enemies trying to kill each other. the parallels between todd and subaru and then the parallels between katya and rem. you can also see why todd is obsessed with katya. her weak body makes and nervous attitude is perfect for the type of person todd is. a manipulative coward who couldn’t be with a woman who can defend herself. his paranoid attitude compliments katya, but unlike todd, katya uses it as a defense mechanism when she deeply cares about those around her. todd on the other hand just sees weakness in others and how he can exploit it it also reinforces the fact that todd is a terrible person. when you first see him, you can try and make the excuse that he does whatever he can to survive. and to an extent, he does. but the fact that he’s manipulative and uses any tactic he can in situations that arent even life or death, shows just how awful of a person todd is. its funny because todd is a giant coward, but his brutality and need to survive represents another side of vollachia. with jamal representing how a warrior would fight. and vincent representing the ideals of the country, and maybe a hint of wanting things to change for the better
That hero vs monster analysis was a really neat thing I never noticed. It could also continue beyond Arc 7 and 8, with Subaru’s third trial line to Reinhard (“You’re a hero, Reinhard, and a hero is all you can be”).
What did you think about Beatrice using Al Shamak? Also how do you think she was even able to use it? She has been separate from Subaru for a while I doubt that she had enough mana to stay corporal for even another day yet she was able to use one of the strongest yin spells 🤔
She would definitely have enough mana to stay corporeal for a day. I'm fine with the Al Shamak, because clearly it was going to kill her if Subaru didn't arrive right that second.
My theory is that Beatrice used the magic cristales form the Cristal palace in order to pay the overall cost of the spell (similar to arc 5 when she use the cristales to fight Lye),and probably she didn't have enough time to take enough for the whole spell so she drained her own mana in order to finish it.
@@adolmayansahs8344Yeah, at the moment it did seem like an ass pull. We were constantly told how little mana she has that she has to stay asleep to stay corporeal, and yet she is able to use a spell that consumed 400 years worth of stored mana in one go the first time? But then again, she could of used her Od, which if that was explained by Beako herself then it would have been a good explaination. I havent read the LN version so i dont know how they explain it there.
Reguarding the fluff, not that I disagree with you. I do think tho it might be at least somewhat intentional with reguards to the light novel. concidering that for all intents and purposes, the light novel *is* the trimmed down and edited version.

Subaru has grown to the point where he can now have epic "hero suddenly returns" moments 🎉

speaking with people who are familiar with the LN changes, it seems that these arc 7 volumes are largely unchanged from WN

You should be hyped for arc 8. No spoilers, but the Louis named chapter goes unreasonably hard, and I love it.

Saying the names of chapters implies specific characters get focused on. You just directly spoiled him on that.
This won't end well for you
