- The Warning are three sisters from Monterrey Mexico, Daniela (16) Paulina (14) and Alejandra (12) who just recorded their first original album entitled “21st Century Blood”. In this video they perform their original songs UnMendable, When I’m Alone, and Survive and discuss recording their new album.
The Warning are three young sisters from Mexico trying to win a place in the world of Rock music.
They started playing music at a very young age, inspired by the video game Rock Band, and now they are creating their own music. They are still developing their musical knowledge, studying and practicing every day. Despite all the difficulties on their way they have managed to independently record their first full album without signing with any label. Their fans helped them raise the money they needed to produce their album via Gofundme.com. They hope to inspire other young musicians not to sacrifice the essence of their true sound just to become part of the music business.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx
Oh my God dude, it isn't fair, how can you watch these 3 young girls pour their souls out on stage and not become a fan? These girls are my heros
Es normal enamorarse de la musica de The Warning atravez de ella percibes el amor que le tienen al ROCK. Larga vida a The Warning !! Cheers
Fair? Dude, all's fair in love and RockNRoll!!!
Our rock band heroes ❤👍😀🎉👏🥁🌎🌍🌌🌏🎆💥⚠️🔥🕯️☄️🎸🎹🙏🇲🇽🇺🇸
It took three little girls to bring rock back to the West. They're doing God's work afaic.
I look at the things they are saying when they were this young and I understand how they are becoming so successful now. I was at the Mexico City show on October 28th. Dany and Pau were both tearing up on stage they were so overwhelmed with the adoration they were getting from the audience. These girls are amazingly intelligent, astoundingly talented, and becoming immensely successful and yet still so humble. They are truly old souls. I just love them and their music.
I LOVE the 14 year old drum murderer. Pow I mean Pau is so well named.
I wish TED Talks invites them again now that they are rising stars
This is actually his second participation in a TEDX
If I had 20 minutes to inspire someone, I'd show them this video ...
I have. 👍🏻
Amen. And I have as well
Outstanding 😎
Yep.. Ive done it too.
"It's our Art, it's not just business" ... and this is why now, a few years later, greatness beckons. Rock ON sisters!
NICE
Reminds me of Rush’s “Limelight” and the inspiration for that song as discussed in that band’s documentary, Beyond the Lighted Stage. These girls (now ladies) are well on their way to reaching a similar pinnacle of success. The Warning Rocks!!!
I'm amazed how articulate and poised little Alejandra was at the age of twelve ❤
In a foreign country speaking in a foreign language. Unbelievable composure!!!
They attended a bilingual catholic school
@@anthonylagunas6737In the future they will probably compose a song in French
@@SDsailor7
La mayoría en inglés, algunas en español y algunas en francés !
Me encanta la idea !
Jeez, she talked way more at 12 than she does at 18. LOL
13:41 Paulina breaks a stick 13:50 she picks up it's replacement and there's no diminishment of drumming in the 9 seconds between. Beast mode achievement unlocked.
Actually there is no snare during those spare seconds but, hey, she couldn't play with her forehead 😁 (Or can she???)
The finale of "Survive" left me with my jaw on the floor. That's it. That the comment. 😲
After watching this perfomance I became one of their many Patrons
To be that well spoken at such a young age really shows how well they were raised
And in a second language.
@@davidjohnson1690 exactly
At 10:25 in the timeline, Pau told us to fight for our dreams & what we believe in.
And now in the summer of 2023 they are touring Europe with the Muse. And playing in 3 other festivals on their own in UK, Germany & Switzerland.
What an inspiring journey from their basement in Monterrey!!!
The best part is watching them sing these same songs 6-7 years later, and how much better they are at performing them!
@@drewbrown9678 True. Its amazing to see how professional they have become with these songs nowadays.
I miss Pau's breakneck helicoptering ponytail drumming though along with her her raspy, raw voice.
The Warning have been announced for Wacken 2024. What an amazingly steep ascent. And deservedly so. These girls rock! 🤘🔥
@@danilolapierre5610 Keeping my fingers crossed for Glastonbury as well. Looks like a 2 months Euro tour next summer if they play at Rock Am Ring & Rock Im Park (early June) as well. Wacken is at end of July.
Played in the MTV Music Awards a couple weeks ago 😊 and completely fell in love with them since
Paulina smoothly switching drumsticks when one broke was EPIC!
Destroy stick. Get new stick. 20 seconds later: Destroy stick. Look left at 14:09
it seems there are many videos I've watched that she broke her drum sticks, as I've seen on one comment of how she's powerfully drumming her drum kit and they said the victim of the Queen of the Murder Scene is definiteley the drum kit lol. I'd add that the drum sticks as well are part of the collateral damage haha
@@Lionspelshe IS so strong
@@SamCouter That's not the new one broken, it's the piece from the one that already broke, it landed there and then it was flung off when she hit that cymbal.
We have to remember that Pau was drumming in her heels 🤯
Hahaha yes she is, makes that little Pauerhouse a bit taller, outstanding but not recommended for the average drummer
Pau's speech about fighting for your dreams is even more powerful now after all the things they have accomplished in the years since! They not only talk the talk, they walk the walk. 👏👏
Yup. Pau's inspirational talk should be shown to kids all around the world.
Walking the talk is extremely difficult.
What great role models they are!!!
A 14 year old writing & playing such fast complicated drum patterns in Unmendable including the tonality of strikes on various drums & cymbals!!! No repetition at all. Every verse is defined separately. Genius!!!
I love Pau, but that ending is basically just the exact ending to Best Of You by Foo Fighters. Still impressive she was able to pull it off at such a young age.
@@sleuth2077 no it's not. Yes there is a similarity, but it's not directly copied, I'd say it's more of an influence
@@topiwiio8017 I actually typed the wrong song. It's the ending to Best Of You. Go listen and compare and I promise they are the same. Sorry, I got the songs mixed up.
@@sleuth2077It says in the description that the drummer and bassist are two years apart but in reality they are 3 yrs apart.
@@SDsailor7 ok? Why are you telling me this?
Watching this in 2023. The passion, the charisma, the absolutely unbridled talent of these young women is what's gotten them were they are today...on their first world tour and on the cusp of international stardom.
Congratulations Dany, Pau and Ale. You've done it.
Well said!
You can tell how hard Pau plays and sings by how out of breath she is when it's her turn to talk - she's a BEAST on the drums! I read that she practices singing while running on a treadmill so that she has the wind to do it while drumming. That's dedication to one's craft!
She has toned down that high action nowadays. Her movement is more economical in terms of extension of arms but superfast when she gets on with her fills & buildups. She hardly lifts the sticks vertically when going through her rolls on the side toms. Mosty single handerd linear drumming.
However I miss this old Pau putting on a show with her exaggerated action & helicoptering ponytail.
@@MrSudeepdas She may not lift them as high now, but she still hits just as hard! (And has wonderful dynamics, too, most rock drummers can't play soft like she can...)
@@billholder1330 Absolutely on point. Yeah her subtle touches to avoid repetition of patterns in different verses of a song are sumptuous for want of a better adjective.
She is known for breaking drum sticks and drum heads
I think Pau doesn’t go as crazy with her movement these days is because she has to take it easy and not hurt herself being on tour so much more. Pau once said she forgot to stretch before a show, and afterwards she was very strained. But she’s still incredibly Pau-erful!
Live life with the way Pau plays drums ...
It's been 6 years and now they're selling out headlining shows across North and South America as well as Europe. They also opened for Muse and Guns N roses... They're were invited to appear on Metallica's anniversary album with a very creative re-imagining of Enter Sandman, and they performed 2 songs for the Video Music Awards. And they're still so young! Holy!
I have seen this presentation many times, although I had never commented. Now, 6 years later, we can confirm that the Villarreal sisters were completely truthful in their statements.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is THE WARNING...
THE LEGEND!
It doesn't matter which song is your introduction to the band, the drummer is immediately convincing. She always brings it. She reminds me of early Dave Grohl. She just puts her whole heart into it.
I was thinking the same while I was watching this presentation, just awesome!!!
ginger baker
Impossible to NOT LOVE these sisters and their music.
Best. TEDx. Talk. Ever.
Yesterday was June 26 2023 and I was at the O2 Acadamy Islington, London to watch The Warning live. What a fantastic show, in fact it was brilliant, the crowd was mental and the the venue rocked. Come back and see us in the UK again soon, we love you.
What an inspiring journey it has been so far!!! Specially when Pau tells us in this video to fight for our dreams and make those happen.
That huge smile on Dani's face at the end of Survive speaks volumes about how much fun they are all having in this moment! And we can all feel it in this performance!
Pau, what did those drums do to you? Beating those things like they're rentals.
OK, I admit I use UA-cam as a distraction from the ordeals of current affairs. I had been watching Dea Matrona a lot, watching them grow, and few days go by without me re-listening to Johnny Winter's arrangement of Fast Life Rider. I liked blues before I liked rock. But I have been aware of TW for about three weeks, and pretty much every day of those three weeks, I have been listening to a new tune of theirs and some of their older stuff.
Their propulsive energy is captivating, a swift stream that takes the listener for a white-water ride. Running a quality power trio worked for ZZ Top, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream, West, Bruce & Lang, and some other bands (Muse, e.g.). Nobody naps in a trio. The Warning has the right mix. They do not need to be changed, they need only to be heard. The only improvement I could imagine would be turning up the volume on the bass a bit, the better to hear Ale's playing. They have already won a place.
Incidentally, I am 72 and had long since given up on Rock as having anything fresh going on, but The Warning is fresh as a spring morning.
their timing on that opening song is just exceptional. it is so rare to hear original music that has strong vocals (all three are great vocally), backed up by strong and well written music. the riffs, the drums, the bass lines... just unbelievable.
Unmendable is such a heavy song - written by 16, 14 & 11 year olds. And the lyrics with its hidden message - unbelievable!!!
I hope The Warning play Unmendable, Exterminated, Copper Bullets, Dull Knives, Queen of the Murder Scene, Ugh, Evolve at Wacken next year. I am sure that they will play the last 4. Not sure about the 1st 3 which they wrote so early in their career.
Wait till the new album comes out...6-28-24
Pau has always hit the drums like they owe her money lmao! 💪⚡
noticed what happened at 13:42 ???? She plays with passion and power
50 years from no the three abuelas with break out the instruments at the Christmas family gathering and blow away the grandkids!
The talent and determination we are witnessing is magnificent. And those Mexican eyes...oh my. There is something about the eyes of Mexican women, just stunningly beautiful.
I'd wish you girls luck but you don't need that, you're making this work just fine on your own.
Specially Pau's eyes - they are fantastic.
I think you will like the eyes of our women here in India as well.
I`m looking forward the Berlin Gig in April 2024! What a fantastic Band!
See u there!!
They were THAT good 5 years ago.
They're even better NOW.
They will OWN THE WORLD, at this rate, 5 years from now.
I say, GOOD. This is the music we need these days, and the attitude to have to fight off the record labels' monotony. Be yourself, write for yourself, change for NO ONE, and the fans will come. This one did, and as someone who started playing in 1989, I am continually amazed by these gals.
Keep on rockin', and makin' the rest of us look bad! 🤟🏻😑🤟🏻
I had the special privilege of catching these ladies in concert a few months ago and they are every bit as good as you can imagine. They are the hardest working band in rock and roll and deserve every bit of success.🤘
NOW CONQUER THE WORLD AND BEST ROCK BAND OUT THERE 🤘
I love these ladies...don't change for no one...I've definitely been WARNED!!! See ya in 24' ❤🤘⚡️
I am 70, and a life long music lover, and I really enjoyed listening to the "Warning!"
As a solid drummer at 57 years and 40 plus years behind the kit, playing one side of the spectrum from Sade, R&B, Soul and Heavy Metal Metallica, Iron Maiden and even Rush, I am enjoying the art and craft Paulina and the sisters are creating. I’m enjoying covering there song on my kit. “Up the Iron” Girls
The Markboro
still stuns me to this day, i think we followed em on here before this even, btw they are still going now and are grown up, a fantastic band no one seems to know about, in the 70's or 80's they would have been household name sand deserve to be now too.
😎😎😎😎 I Just have beeing WARNED!
THANKS VILLARREAL SISTERS !💪💪💪💪💪💪
I don't know you girls but I'm instantly really proud of you.
I am SO hooked on these girls. Way up on my list of best bands in this century
For me...they are the best band in decades.
I haven't had a band move me like this since the 60's, 70's & 80's.
And best, not only their music they write, live performances studio work and over abundant talent...they are exceptional human beings on the inside as well.
They are the definition of Inspirational.
They're the best!
the growth of these young ladies from their 1st performance on Tedx to this one is amazing
I wonder how many of those people in the audience are fallowing them to this day?
Have the audience ever recognized that they were part of music history ...
How did I miss these wonderful young rockers all these years!? Glad I found them and their newer tunes!
This is real old school talent. What an amazing band! refreshing to see real musicians making and playing good old rock 🤘. They have a big future
Have you seen them lately?
They are on tour right now and in a couple of months they will be touring Europe to sold out shows!
This is the first video I saw of The Warning performing. The beginning of my 5 year love affair with there music. They have only gotten better...
I’m a little late to the party, but have become as big a fan of these young ladies as can be possible!! Not only do I love their music, but appreciate what good human beings they are also!!!🔥🤘⚡️❤
That's it. They just come across as really really good people. That's a huge part of what I love about them.
man Pau and Dany never changed they look exactly the same now as they did back then, Ale is just tiny here she's matured into a stunning young girl
This version of Survive is still my favorite, sounds more raw! than ever!
Not sure whether I'm more impressed by how great was their performance or by the fact that Ale spoke as much as the other girls.
Hahahahaha!!!!!
i keep coming back to this, this is the point where i literally fell in love with these sisters, this prompted me to donate to their kickstarter. They just go from strength to strength, they deserve everything they have worked so hard for. Have all three of their subsequent albums(all signed), which i treasure. They move me to tears with their music at times and never fail to leave me awe struck by their performances on stage. they really are the future of rock and have me completely hooked
How did these girls become so good. They are all awesome at their instruments and the drummer OMG . They are inspirational!
So this Tuesday, 12 Sept. 2023, MTV VMA on Extended Play Stage then.
They will be on US national TV after 8 years.
What a 10th anniversary year it has been so far for the girls!!!
Milestone after milestone; dream after dream is becoming real!!!
And they brought the house down witheir performances.
@@SDsailor7 Yes they did!
The bass riff is tremendous, the drum beat is crisp and the guitar playing is the icing on the cake.🎸🥁🎸

Love the Villarreal trio!! They are awsome! Love them! ❤🇲🇽❤️
The drummer is just freaking MINDBLOWING
The Warning is pure dynamite!!!!! the best rock band of México!!!! las chicas genias de México!!!!!
Survive is an absolutely incredible track, for them to have created that at such a young age, wow! And the ending is so powerful. Never gets old. What a thing to witness. Absolutely staggering.
Pau Peart on the drums!!!
She could be a Carey though. Considering the force she uses… (awesome!)
@@matthijsclaessen8152 It's a river, isn't it? Peart was a big influence on Carey and Pau must know Carey's work. Though she has cited Neil as her favourite drummer - was it on one of the TED Talk videos?
@@robcostigan8757 Ooh. I didn’t know that. And it figures. Very interested to see where she’s going!

Motivation - thy name is Danny, Pau & Ale of The Warning.
I miss the old songs.
Unmendable has to be in their Wacken setlist when they go up on stage in August 2024. It beggars belief that a 14 year old Pau wrote that drum part. Just unbelievable!!! Can't wait for Wacken 2024.
I guess Ale figured she would do all of her talking then so she wouldn't have to speak in interviews ever agin...
probably their dad is the proudest dad in the multiverse
Luis and Mony are both proud parents

The amount of times I've watched this over the years and it still gives me a tingle up my spine. These sisters are really special.
Fast forward five years and The Warning are rocking audiences from coast to coast on their pandemic-delayed North American Tour - they warned us and now they're on their way to stardom! 👍👍
Stardom is right. They're about to open for GNR before a crowd of 22K.
Love these ladies!!! Living their dream!!! Look at them now, oh man!!! I've been Warned!!! Rock on!!!🤘⚡
I discovered them about a year ago and quickly learned that they started at a (very) young age. But actually seeing how good they already were even back then feels unreal!
I'm so looking forward to seeing them live in about two months.
you can even look at the older videos on their yt channel and they were like 7/8 years old taking their piano lessons
The drumming is ..........it just is breathtaking.
Standing ovation! 👏👏👏
The easiest way to run out of superlatives is to try and explain how amazing these sisters are.
They write the songs, they play them in a way that sounds like they’re a perfect blend of GGDolls superstar car wash, Volbeat, some Eve6, and of course their own type of rock.
Their youth, energy, and charisma along with their talent, and tendency to jam and have fun will maximize their potential.
Sky is the limit.
They came. They rocked. They conquered.
The drummer Pau is like "I'm little so I'm gonna beat these drums up for you, while wearing heels, because i can"😮 The bass player was like here hold my teddy bear while i go out and melt some faces😊 Dany is fantastic and rock solid inspiring her sisters to greatness, outstanding
I have no words. Outstanding!
I love the way Dani looks at Ale, her younger sister while performing. Ale is the youngest of the three, but Dani respects her and jams with her like equals and professoinals. They're so inspirational
Ale is a badass bassist
Bet y'a the crowd were not expecting that!!! 🤟💥
Heavy n soft, fast n slower, tasty rock n roll. These girls will, and do, kill it in the studio because there's so much to work with, they are fantastic, for real, and god willing they will stay safe and keep being themselves, wherever that takes them 🥁🎸🎤🎵
I lost count how many times I have watched this. The last song Survive hits hard, and pulls on my heart strings like nothing else. They just fill me with Pride & Joy!
Absolutely, Gman. These girls write amazing music that has a profound power and emotionality. The "jam" section of Survive is tremendously moving. These girls have a gift. Their music is a gift to us!!!

Same pride here in Sonora México. This ladies bring to my musical life a fresh breath. Long life to the Villarreal Sisters.
I used to watch their covers of foo fighters, etc. Had no idea they made their own music. This performance of Survive made me a fan
The speech that gave was very inspirational especially hearing a very young Ale speaking with such intelligence and how all of had great appreciation for family and the people who supported them ❤😊
After watching these 3 extremely talented sisters all I can say is; OMG, OMG, OMG, please don't stop, I want more, please give me more!

Being on stage, speaking in a foreign language, playing and singing very well and being under 17? Just amazing.
This is right before Ale shot up half a foot above her sisters 😭😭😭
They're good here but, especially Danny's voice has matured greatly. Not only has it changed due to age, she has far greater control, sustain and I'm pretty sure her octave range has slightly improved. I think, that is one of the really exciting things is they just keep getting better and better.
Their Albums since this, Queen of the Murder Scene and Error I think, show a distinct improvement in their various abilities.
5'11" now? Dany is 5'5" now I think.
I discovered them a little less than a year ago and I have noticed growth in them. Dany's voice has gotten better and is there a better guitar player on the planet right now. Ale has matured and is really looking like a rock star. That girl could take a break from touring and go rock any fashion runway in the world in a heartbeat. And well Pau was just expands the meaning of the word amazing every day.
It's so cute to hear a 14yo kid talk about "the 21 century and its society and some of the things that [they] would like to change about it" and say they took "a very long time" making their debut album ! lol
I love this band. ^^
How is that place not full? It is The Warning!!!
