Beautiful 1972 Duster 340. Brings me back memories to when my dad had a 1971 green Plymouth Duster 318 with an automatic transmission.
Finished installing the fabric headliner in my '72 Duster 340 last night. Reassembled the steering column and got it in today. Hoping to have the dash in before the year ends and then I can get the glass installed 👍

Had a 72 Duster, and a 71 Demon, and even though they were both slant 6 cars, I would love to have either of them back today. Lot of memories around these cars
In 1973, I bought a new 340, 4speed Dodge Dart sport, it was a great car, and it won quite a few races. I still wish I kept it. Happy New year to you and your whole family.
I had one with an auto, purchased used. I miss it.
I had a '71 340 Demon/automatic. I sold it to an irresponsible individual and he lost it somehow! It was a great car but a few years later I bought a '69 Coronet RT
(440mag/4spd/Dana) and I will NOT let this one go! Wish I had the funds to hand it over to Nick for his magic touch! Maybe one day, I will. Happy 2024 to Nick

Ahh,brings back fond memories, in 1977 I traded my 73 cj5 for a 73 duster metallic blue 340 bench seat 4 speed posi trac had an after market profile cam in it. Had the drop down partition behind the back seat I think it was so you could put surf boards in the trunk and lay down the back rest and the partition. Man! I love Mopars.

My first girlfriend’s dad bought a 1972 Plymouth Duster brand new in 1972! Same color and white stripes. I wish I was still going out with her! I love that car. 😂
Love seeing a Duster come into the shop . That sure brings back memories. Had a Best friend who had a 340 Duster and we sure had alot of fun crusing in it and taking our girlfriends out in it ...lost my friend in 2007 ...his brother has his car now ...
Great car... I had one just like this in the early 80s but dark metallic brown with the white interior, white stripe, and white vinal top. I sure do miss that car

Just like my first ride I bought when I was in the 11th grade highschool, for $600, except in yellow and black, a lot of memories in that car with my brother keeping up the mechanics while I drove. Credits to my brother we won a few races and it got me to school every day, with whatever he did to the ole girl.... lol. Love your videos Knick, keep them coming.

I agree with you 100percent about the snow. The older you get the more you hate it. I’m mid coast Maine so whatever storms you get I get the next day. Keep up the good work. I’m planning to take a motorcycle trip next summer and planning to stop in on the way to Niagara Falls.

Relative of mine and at the time her husband bought fresh off the lot a 1970 Duster orange in color I sat in it and was disappointed at it did not have any head room I at the time stood at 6 foot high my head was rubbing the head liner even without my hat. While my 64 valiant had lots of head room!!

It's never a bad day when you get to see an old Sweet Ass Mopar!!!,My Personal Favorite Year of the Duster was 1970, but this 72 is in Great Shape, and the fact that it's a factory 4speed with those Great looking High Back Bucket Seats!!!, Imagine how fine She's going to be after Nick gives her some Love!!!

Really enjoyed seeing that 1972 340 Duster and it brings me back to that year when I turned 18. 340 Duster and Demons were running all around my area back then and lots of the 18-21 year olds had them. A friend back then had a Plum Crazy colored 340 Demon and after some tuning by a local Mopar racer was hard for the typical big block Chevelles to handle....lots of street racing back then. I had a 55 Chevy then with 283/4bbl/ 4 speed and not bad for $ 150 bucks. Never latched on to the 340's and should have but in 1976 I did grab a 1969 340 Dart GTS for 500 bucks!

I worked with a guy back in the 70's that had the same color Duster , except it was a Demon. He bought it cheap, like $500. Beautiful car until you looked at the passenger side...It was T-boned and totaled by the ins company. Still drove fine, just could not open the passenger door! Good for burn outs too!

Dana "60" Glass. Another great video Nick and George. Love the sound of that 340. Sounds like if you did rebuild the motor, you should be able to do a re-ring only having 19,000 original miles, but I know it will be up to the customer. I doubt there would be much of a ridge on top of the cylinders. Still can't wait for the tear down, and blast on the dyno. Happy New Year everyone!
Wow, that is a BEAUTIFUL survivor Duster! I hope you make it into a feature build. Hopefully, It will not need a lot of work. but in any case, it will be something to follow as you repair and fix what ever it needs. if you do go thru the engine, it would be great to see before and after dyno runs on it. I know if it was my car, it would get a new cam and valve train. A Edelbrock air gap rpm intake with an 850 double pumper. I don't know if there would be a way to make the scoops functional without it being a BIG project.. And I would save every last nut, bolt and even clips, pins etc. so it could be put back to pure stock if the owner ever decided he wanted to do so. I DO see the value of a pure, stock, survivor car. but I am getting old, and I would want one last trip back to my youth. Where I could raise a little hell, and have some real fun before I could no longer enjoy it.

Nice duster. I was 18 working at Mound Road Engine, plant in three months, I saved enough money to buy a 1972 torino red 340 duster with torqueflite 3.23 sure-grip off the the showroom floor east side of Detroit. Dang I miss that car!

I had a 72 Duster 225 Slant 6, I changed it to a 72 340 built to 70 compress, 4 speed, 8 3/4 3:91 gears. It was a giant killer!
I hate Winters, too, Nick, but watching your videos takes the sting out of the weather.

Wow, what a beautiful duster! So clean for being all original. My brother had a 71 demon 340 4 speed, yellow with black interior. Was a cool car, drove it a few times, it was quite quick. He had a 70 challenger as well with a 440 and plumb crazy paint. He now has a 71 challenger plumb crazy with a 440 stroker 500 cubes and a pistol grip 4 speed, a shaker hood and a spoiler. Mopar 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 All the best in 24' Nick!!!

I had one. Got it used. Traded my tricked out Maxi Van for it. Mine was auto, same color. Absolute beast.
Nick I know your dislike for headers on a car. I have a dislike for those bolt on battery terminals that are on the Duster and many other cars. They are problematic. To have a nice car and then slap junk on it when the proper battery cables are sold at most good auto parts stores is a real crime in my book. I love the videos and look forward to them every week.
