You're absolutely right. EV's are crap! They have no style, no sound, no vibrations, like Edinburgh does. I love your city. So much better than London. EV's are for corporate, not for the planet. Hydrogen vehicles are for the planet! China controls all the battery chemicals anywhere. I love the sound of V-8's in the morning!!! Sportscaster forever! 😊

Interesting that everyone always think EVs and V8s exclude always and everytime each other.
I own myself a V8 engined car, a supercharged straight 6 engined car and a flat-6 engined car. And have been driving a EV as a daily for three years now and would not go back to combusting engined car anymore in daily driving. It's so much better: faster (suprisingly involving) / easier to live.
But when it's dry summer morning I'll take my flat-6 from the garage and enjoy it every km (or mile) into the office car park. (window bit open) ❤
So there is place for both.

Alabama State Troopers kept these cars at their houses when off duty. One was less than 1 mile from where I grew up in Alabama (Jasper Alabama). Still remember seeing that car several times to this day. Plus these cars were the talk of the town about how fast they were back in the day !!

My husband and I still have the first car we ever bought. We have a 1969 German made V W bug with a sun roof. I’m going to get it running again for him. He’s 80 now . Watching you go through the gears in the Shelby made me think. I’m an old guy and I know the pros and cons of the argument about manual vs automatic transmission. But there’s just no feeling like having control of the gears in a manual, be it an under powered car or a powerful car. The manual just gives more satisfaction with the ride.

Any Cop pulling that over and told what that car is about and getting to know the history, and want to give a ticket, should not be a cop. That is like a police Hero. That should be in a museum. That is some thing very special. Here in Germany, Porsche made police cars for the Autobahn in the 70`s. Having one of those are like owning a unicorn. Same with that car. It only happend once.

It's a shame to leave it as a junk. Just because it was used to be an awesome car, isn't a reason to leave one a junker today. They deserve better than this. What you say, does has merit, but only to survivors. This one didn't survive though. How can you tell? If your kids driving a nicer condition car to school as a beater and it's in far better shape than this.... it's not a survivor.

@@MrCarGuy That's all fine and good 30 years ago. Today these are high end collector cars. Not junk drivers lol. It's not really going to matter what any of us think, in the end, someone WILL eventually restore this car, whether any of us like it or not, so.

I had a guy cut me off really dangerously on a Sunday drive in my '66 Sting Ray coupe in October. That car is so loud, you don't even have to have hearing to know where it is, the pressure waves would guide you. That guy knew exactly what he was doing and a collision was very possible. You just have to wonder what people think they are doing.

He told me about going from Alabama to Atlanta and running well over a 100mph on old highway 78 and these interceptors would pull up beside him and motion him over. He said that ram air 4 goat wouldn't out run those interceptors, he tried !

    They are Saved!
Just kidding. They are sold for profit, often to large warehouse collectors that just horde vehicles to artificially inflate the prices. Don’t get me wrong I like the show.😂

Not very many cars back in the day that could keep up with those javelins on the highway. My mother told stories of a friend of hers driving his Pantera entirely too fast and getting pulled over by a couple of those javelins. AMC had some big things on the horizon for them if they wouldn't have closed.

Will there be this much passion for rescuing electric cars? Personally, I think not.

13 years ago I met the man who was the former sales manager for Metro Ford back in the 60s. He invited me to his garage to look at CSX3282 that his son owned (later sold to Lewis Hamilton). In the garage beside the Cobra was a GT 350. The story on that car was the man would bring it home from the dealership every now and them to show his sons. Decades later one the sons came across it in a barn in pieces. He bought it, and the sons along with the dad rebuilt the car. Cool family with some really cool cars.

Love that blue on the Shelby. And, Alex’s weight loss is front and center when today’s episode went to the Porsche. Great job again Alex, and great episode as always Dennis. Thanks for taking us along on your wild ride

Unfortunately the car no longer exists, but back in 2003 I went with a buddy and his dad to get some parts for his dad's truck. The place we were at is outside of Central City Iowa, about 18 miles from me. I stepped behind the barn to take a number 1 and sitting there half buried was a 68 mustang. The guy got extremely upset with me when I asked about it. I found out later from my buddy's dad, that it was a 68 gt500 that the guys son, an only child, got as a graduation present, week after getting the car the son got sent to Vietnam and never came back home. The father is no longer alive, but I heard he had all the vehicles on the property crushed before he died. There was maybe an inch or 2 of the crank pulley sticking out of the dirt. I can't even remember what color it was, I noticed it and went and asked the guy, I was 18 at the time didn't know any better 🤷 but it instantly made him mad asking about the car. Idk if that was your lost Shelby or not, can't imagine it made it onto any registry being driven a week and eventually pulled behind a barn and left out of sight
