Dude, I never even knew there was a death bird in weeping peninsula. Or that you could parry night cavalry of their horses. You learn so much from these runs!
I love that the Godskin's sleep resistance stats are the one part of their design that's actually balanced for two of them fighting you at once.

I am doing the same run and its amazing. You pretty much have to use a weapon from every single class and there are so many cool weapons i discovered
Never had any idea Dragonkin Soldier has that multi hit frost lightning attack lmao. So many enemies in this game have really cool attacks and whole extra phases you never see because they die so quickly.
Weirdly, the weakest of the three Dragonkin Soldiers is the only one with a second phase.

This looked fun. Maybe on a future run like this, you don't discard the weapon after dying to a boss like someone suggested in chat early on, but you do have to cycle to another one after each death for the next attempt. A weapon is only discarded/stored after beating a boss. So if you died a lot of times and run out of weapons, you gotta do that boss later when you find/can wield fresh weapons. Or maybe just keep fully cycling the weapons you currently have at each attempt without only using them once, whichever one sounds more fun.

Watching him deathless Malenia, GSD, Placidusax, then Maliketh back to back to back to back is so demoralising when it took me an my bro a solid 90 minutes on Maliketh with several deaths.
In all seriousness though, it is astonishing and inspiring to see how much knowledge culminates into these runs and by extension becoming a challenge run player.
The fact that cemetery shade and skellys killed him so many times is so funny. I've always thought it was low-key one of the hardest fights in the whole game

yeah they kicked my ass on the first playthrough. im pretty sure i eventually stopped and just came back later. very strange fight to throw in early on because they do not give you enough space to single either of the skellys out nor do you have the dps to quickly handle them either that early in the game
Golden Epitaph is a real workhorse here, but if you don't have it or can't use it...yeah...

I'm currently doing this challenge and I'm up to Leyndell over 2 evenings of play. Deciding on weapon upgrades and what to use on earlier bosses has made this so much fun
Would love to see a randomizer version of this run, probably couldn’t do the region lock ruling since you’re not guaranteed to get enough weapons in any one area but I think it be super cool to see!

The Treespear was my weapon of choice on my first play through, it breaks poise for DAYS.
Fun fact: if you backstep and then attack immediately after with a rapier (and another weapon that I don't remember) you get a cool unique attack!
You may be thinking of the scimitar. In previous games you would do a sick back flip on backstep attacking. Not sure if that is in ER though.

So basically this is the Elden Ring Nuzlocke
Pokemon = Weapon
And because of the region lock
Bosses = Trainers/Gym leaders
All you need now is to randomize the weapon location every run to make it almost exactly like a Nuzlocke
Also if the suggestion of ditching a weapon when you die to a boss is not that bad, this makes it harder to use throw away weapons on easy boss

I’m currently doing this exact challenge, with the same rules (been doing it for 2 weeks now), but I’m only 50 bosses in so far with the region lock rule as well. I’m happy to see that I wasn’t the only person having this idea as a run!

It is the only instinctual thing I have that is somewhat good.

Gonna try this later, getting tired of just healing my mimic during my summons only run. This kind of challenge seems to add a lot of variety to a playthrough, which is lacking in restricted challenge runs.

A shocking amount of people never use shields to do things like stop enemies from entering combos the bloodhound knight is a great example you can make that fight nothing with a shield cause you just need to stop the first strike in the combo

Right now I'm watching the original broadcasts of this challenge on dist's twitch channel. In the middle of watching part 1, it stopped working because it was the oldest video and got pushed out of existence in the middle of me watching (I don't know if it's because of the passage of time or because of new uploads pushing it away?). I had to skip to part 2, which is now the oldest video there and I wonder when it will be pushed into oblivion :( It was such good stuff to watch when going to bed.

Ironically I am doing this now. I was under the impression I was "supposed" to this. I did defeat all of the bosses in Limgrave and need to take down 3 in the lakes. I have to get Ranni quest to unlock 2 of them and having difficulty on the death rite bird.

With the mask on, from the Bandit Set, your character really looks like Singed from Arcane.

I hate the Cemetary Shade with the three additonal Skeletons so much. I either just use a Dragonbreath Incanation when I enter this fight of throw Holy Water Pots at the Skeletons just so I don't have to deal with anything in that fight.
Kill every boss with the lordsworn straight sword. Not because it's difficult but because lordsworn straight sword gang

I just need some clarification, sorry if I missed it in the video, but was he only lvling his character and none of the weapons? Were they all just base weapons or whatever level they were picked up as?
From what I saw, he was upgrading his weapons. I may not have seen him upgrading weapons in this video nor did I watch the whole unedited vod on twitch, but I did see some weapons upgraded when he was going through the weapons in the menu.
Example @ 1:13:11 you see Uchigatana +2, Sword of Night and Flame +1, and Godskin Peeler +2
