    Thank you for posting this video! I just came home from getting a new alternator installed into my 2016 Genesis Coupe 3,8 Ultimate ed (/w only 24K miles) and he confirmed that my fan won't stop running. They wanted to charge $350 just for the electrical diag and it would have put my bill into the $1K range, so I told them I would look into it myself or bring it back later. Now i'm just going to go buy a few relays/tools and do it myself.

      and it worked. After buying a few used relays from eBay, I was able to fix it myself. Thanks to this video and some advice from a reddit post.

    Great video. Had this happen to my 2013 Genesis Coupe and it took me a while to figure out that it was the relays. Another tip is, if you don't have new relays yet, sometimes tapping them with a stick or similar will get them to switch off. You can try that instead of disconnecting the battery till you get new relays.

    I WISH I had seen this a few weeks ago. Kyle Steele Hyundai got me for over $800 for this simple fix. My AC would stop cooling when at idle because my fans weren't kicking on, and the engine was beginning to overheat. Turns out my relays were shot. The service advisor misled me about what was wrong and made it sound like more than it was. Once I saw the service record, I was less than pleased. $193 for two relays, $630 labor.

    Hey man I want to get my genesis fbo and on e85 and some other stuff too. The car already has a full ECU/TCU tune done by alpha speed. Also has some basic mods done like exhaust, fuel injection, air intake, aero body kit. I tried contacting you instagram but didn’t work out. Let me know if you can help me out. God bless 🙏

    Hey im currently looking into moding the genesis coupe 3.8 i was wondering how easy it was to push out 500whp, if so would i need to build the bottom end or will it still be reliable and if so what modification would you recommend. Im farly new to the whole car community. I just dont want to mess up to bad sence its my only car rn

    • @markelwood1853
      @markelwood1853 4 місяці тому +1

      I can answer this, my bk2 3.8 on E85 fbo and ported manifold pushes 315WHP and it’s def fun. If you want 500whp your gonna need to get better pistons and rods, push like 6 psi of boost etc. you can do it without the rods and pistons but it prolly won’t last too long. I’ve looked into getting a spacer to lower compression ratio cuz it’s super high in these GDI cars. If I had unlimited money I’d do a whole rebuild like that but I have higher priorities. 315 with a stage 3 spec clutch and short shifter, LSD and fat tires are still plenty enough for me to have fun. Currently keeping up with scatpacks and mustangs so def still fun.

    What if your fan doesn’t come on at all ? I replaced the relays and cooling fan resistor . A shop told me those were the two issues. My heat works from the a/c but doesn’t blow cold as well

    • @ProdigePerformance
      @ProdigePerformance  5 місяців тому +1

      Fans have 0 relation to AC stuff lol. So toss that out you’ll get confused.
      Give the fan itself power and ground.
      If it turns on then it’s a wiring / relay issue
      If it doesn’t then your fan motor shit the bed

    So my problem is the fan never turning on, even when coolant temps are at 185 F , which resulted in overheating. Thermostat works cause the coolant flows after a certain temp. I’ve tried AC on, defrost on, nothing.
