And while I liked the book, Coraline was pretty bland in comparison with her movie counterpart, who's got a stronger personality. She's got sass, she's fiery in spirit and she feels things fully. The blue hair was a great touch too. Book coraline felt muted in this manner, she was always a little enchanted or a little scared etc.
Wybie doesn’t exist in the book. It’s not an issue; my own personal preference is the storyline without Wybie because I believe it makes Coraline a stronger character, not having to rely on anyone else but herself.
@@BookshelftoBigScreen " it makes Coraline a stronger character, not having to rely on anyone else but herself." I agree with that in concept, but book Coraline is pretty muted in terms of her character, if it was the movie personality I'd agree completely.
I hate that the movie added the character Whybe as well. I think they did that because they weren't creative enough to deal with the lack of supporting characters
lol cant believe you hated Wybie he was a cute add to the movie albeit entirely unnecessary - I mean he does like 1 thing at the very end. I loved the movie regardless. I dont think Wybie's existence ruins the overall story or lessens Coralines journey in any way.
Man I loved both
Despite all of their differences. Both the book and the movie are terrifying 😱 and the other mother is the most terrifying cartoon villains ever
Agreed, other mother is creepy af!
Coraline and Whybi saved each other, I don't get the issue here?
He was created so that Coraline has someone to talk too.
