Keep up the great videos
XFE 7-15 works great for polishing and as finisher. For beat up and corroded paint you need to have a machine that can “shovel” of the shit. For paint that is properly and regulary maintained this machine will go the extra mile with fantastic finish. For your customers that wants regularly paint maintenance with polishing and sealing this is the right machine.
Which machine for heavy swirls from giant robot brushers then please ?
For one step correction to 90% defects removed and no holograms
Great review as always
nice review sandro
There is enough polish/compound on that pad to correct half of that panel. The pad will be skating across the surface and so you are not getting the full effect of the pad and polish combination. I think that is why you are having to do 3 or 4 sets on each section. Scholl S3 Gold XXL would achieve better correction in 1 hit with the microfibre pad.
Great video, seem like I pull the right trigger, DAS pro 6 :)
Hey Sandro, good review :) Cheers
Just wondering, since it is called the finisher, what the chances would be in doing the heavy duty correcting work with a different DA and then seeing how flawless of a finish you can get with this new machine?
great video and useful information. can you please link to us the HDO microfiber cutting pad?
I have one, like it very much. I think Flex must measure OPM differently than the rest of the manufacturers since it isn't spinning 9000 OPM.
if i'm not mistaken you use 240V 50Hz in Australia. So it's alsmost the same as in Europe with 230V. So the machines for these markets should be the same.
I also read that Flex focused on the North American market with the XFE 7-15. Maybe there is really a noticeable differnce. On the other side a lot of US reviewers - especially in the detailling market- hype everything to the moon.
I have a feeling this flex may be more suited to the 5" backing plate like you mentioned Sandro. Be interesting to see how you get on with a different variety of pads.
Car Craft Auto Detailing John on forensic detailing over here in the uk really liked the 5" version so it may be worth trialing both machines. Maybe Rupes 21 mk 2 / flex 5" / LHR75 could be the way to go
Hi Sandro, Just was wondering how much difference there is from this Flex XFE polisher and the Flex XC 3401? Oh and thanks for the follow and likes on Instagram.
Hallo habe vor mir die Maschine zu bestellen, welche Pads und welchen Durchmesser würdest du in Verbindung mit den Menzerna Politurset für den 150mm Teller empfehlen.
Can this machine take 3 inch aftermarket backing plate , or even smaller size ?
After a little over a year with this tool . How do you feel about it?
have you tested it more since video was done and if so do you still think the same about the machine
This machine behaved more like the Meguiars g110 da polisher.. with a flex tool I would either go with a straight rotary or a flex 3401 has the safety like a DA but with forced rotation will do correction work faster.
John wells agreed the 3401 has forced rotation and it get the job
Done more quickly than just the DA
USA like all products which named HD
Hello,Sandro! Are you usually set up for cutting on 3 and polishing and finishing on 2?
Thanks
Car Craft Auto Detailing ok!
1 jeweling
2 polishing
3 cutting
4 cutting extreme situations
You're right, this is a strange machine. I have had one since they came out and whilst it does finish ok, it kind of bounces about and stops spinning far too much. If I had chance to buy another DA again, I wouldnt buy this. Its a shame really because the Flex rotary and force driven DA are great machines.
so XFE or Rupes ?
You must keep apart oscillations per minute and rounds per minute. Its clearly by the tool sign that the revs thats comparrable with other das is 1500-4500 rpm. Thats why it doesent cut like the others.
oscillations is like counting each 15mm throw, when flex is counting its probably free spin, OPM works great counting on gear driven polishers becuase they have a fixed opm, for free spinning DAs the OPMs are just matter of user technique. Ok LHR21 MarkII have huge opm in higher revs and doesent stall as easy as the 21ES. When you listen to the Flex xfe, you could easily hear that it doesent rev about twice as much as a Rupes. Its quite similar actually. Cheers!
Does it stall easy?
Hey Sandro, the Mark II 15 has more Correcting power than the XFE 7 with a 5” backing plate?
Hi I watched this video a while ago when I had a corded XFE, I have now got a cordless one which I think is even better and feel little need to break out the 3401. I also have a PXE and I think Flex have all bases covered, have you tried any of the cordless version yet?
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Yes cordless is great I don't detail professionally if I did I might buy some more batteries. I think Flex has a significant advantage over Rupes now. Keep up your videos I really enjoy them, I wish you could get British/European products more easily there are so many good ones out there.
@@patrickvennard838 You still liking it? I just got one. First day, so far so good.
@@craig.encinitas I would not go back to corded. I am just setting up a new detailing garage at home and will probably buy an XCE cordless soon as well.
do you get good cut with the cordless XFE 15 if you pair it with the right pads and compound? I keep seeing conflicting reports on it. I know Obsessed Garage did a review on it but would like an opinion from someone who has one.
@Patrick Vennard
hey mate can i ask you why do you think you have a faulty unit?im trying to decide between this and the rupes 21mk2.
I Can recommend Rupes 21 and 15 mk2 since i have both. 21 my favourite machine.
Im all Rupes man, i have iBrid, Mini, Duetto and 15-21 Mk2 :D But i also have Flex PE 14-2 and it is great, better than Festool. My first 15 Mk2 was not very strong and stalled relatively easily but it got the job done. I sold it and bought a new one and it is much much stronger so there are differences between machiens atleast on Rupes not sure about Flex.
I have the 21 mk2 and 15. The 15 takes a bit of getting used to and works better with certain pads than others. I used the washer mod on mine and always keep the plastic shroud behind the backing plate well greased as that's what causes the stalling on curves.
The 21 mk2 is awesome and doesn't suffer the same problems on curves as the 15 seems to do.
Get the 21 mk2 and the LHR75 and you have an awesome combo right there.
jtm1979 if you have to choose only one machine between 21mark 2 with 5" backing and 15 mark 2 which one would you choose?
21 Mk2 because it is bit more powerfull and you can use 6" bp too.
After the Bullshit Techno Intro Music I wasn't expecting to hear an Aussie Accent.....Pretty good review though. Not sure that it's helped me decide between the Rupes LHR15 MK2 or the Flex. Maybe the Rupes is a better all round machine? So I'd be best to go with 125mm backing pad on whatever machine I decide on rather than the 150mm. Is that correct?
What's the deal with this flex machines having that processor taco meter which adjusts rotation speed, ensuring always constant speed even if you unevenly press on the machine sometimes ?
Whats that function for ?
Is it to reduce or eliminate any chance of holograms on black paints?
Is that function that much of the deal ?
Most recent polishers have this feature, it’s about trying to maintain constant speed to produce consistent results and give the machine more or less torque as needed during curves and crevices- it’s not perfect but it helps.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing
Thank you very much for your reply .
What do you mean by consistent results ?
Micro marrings free results ?
This function doesn't turn this machine into forced rotation if i am correct so it will easily stop spinning when not leveld and on some curves is not it ? Or will it keep rotating a lot more than da machine without such function ? Or just a touch little more not worth even considering ?
Long frow 15mm da machines have this weakness to stop rotating even easily than 8 mm off set .
Than kind of makingpointing at scenario wher 15mm off set da turnes into 8mm off set da with the hell of that processor controlled rotation speed compensation nfunction in terms of how easily daachine will stop rotating when not on even surface and curves.
Is this correct or this function helps alot more tomprevent machine from stopping rotating ?
In most cases it’s just a subtle boost or decrease in OPM (oscillations per minute) and you may or may not even realise it, so it’s not going to change all that much - it’s like using a little more gas to get up a hill or easing off the peddle on a down hill in your car, it just tries to maintain speed.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing ty vm
Just deciding , buy it or not.
If this function doesn't help with micro marrings free finnish then i suppose it is too expensive for me to pay for such a mild help on uneven surfaces
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing can uneven preasure on the machine when one step correcting cause different rotation speeds result in micro marrings usind da polisher 8mm +15 mm off set ?
Google does not know answer to this question :)
I think you are putting way to much polish on the pad initially to prime it. Some cross cut pads like that (especially the spider pads from 3D) do not need priming. This may be some of the reason your cut is not as good.
Rule # , Always prime your pad.... Doesn't matter what kind of pad it is.
i am very shocked to still see many swirls even after you been over it a few times....is this down to the pad or compound or machine? i really wanted to buy this xfe but put off now
i hear you and thank you for being honest and doing a great throu review. i am torn between 3 polishers machines
flex xfe, rupes mk2 or flex 3401 have you used all 3 and which ones does all of it ? cutting polishing and finishing and good for a newbie who would still use it even if they become pro...i dont like buying something and when i get better then go buy the top polisher id rather start with the best if that makes sence
excellent reply thank you . i tried a shinemate ep803 the other day and i couldnt handle it , it started to walk away on me and was losing control. i didnt like the feeling maybe its something i need to work on but there and then i thought the 3401 is going to be like this where as the rupes and xfe in them situations it prob would slow down or stall im i correct? even though many people see that as a negative i cant help thinking its a good thing because i wont walk away or burn the edge or curve of the paint is that the idea of why it does that? yes i think i am going to hold back on the xfe for now but what reall puts me off mk2 rupes is so many negative reviews and people saying they had to get 2-4 machines replaced and faults after faults with them :( i know deep down thats the machine to have...i watch ammo nyc when he tested the mk2 first time and he loves it and si did i but now customers having problems and im stuck in the middle deciding who to buy from flex or rupes
yeah your right im defo leaning toward rupes however the price here has rocketed after britain leaving eu (brexit) and finding second hand ones are rare plus i wouldnt want to risk buying one without warranty. i am going to research the das 6 plus im hearing this tool alot these days.
regarding the xfe i spoken to jon at forensic detailing channel and learnt he used a yellow chemical guys cutting pads on his test which is classed as a Heavy cutting pads and then white whichg is mid polishing pads on his test panel that was swirled up and had been sanded with 2500 grit paper i think and it removed it using s20 and s40 scholl compound and polish. i can only think you may need a firm/heavy cutting pad by chemical guys or lakecountry and try a few different compounds to test that panel out. its good you testing things and it would be a pleassure to watch if you can do more tests using different density of pads a compounds and polishes
Hi sir I like it can u give me an idea how to order or purchase that machine where here in Kingdom of Bahrain.. tnx
Look at forensic detailings review of this flex for where he got his model in the UK
Well you use Hd Cut, that actually sucks... try with Jescar, Menzerna.
How is it with the 5 inch plate any better with correction
Car Craft Auto Detailing does it keep up with the das6 pro plus 15mm then with the 5 inch
Car Craft Auto Detailing I’m getting the new das6 pro plus 1000w from In2detailing when it arrives
You should’ve used menzerna man
you are updating your machine in 2017 and not making the cord detachable like mirka sanders or griots polishers big mistake flex big mistake
