    I noticed that even though the Mark 3 is available, many people are still sticking with or purchasing the Mark 2. I have been using the Griot’s 6 Inch for a while now and I want to upgrade to a Rupes. Do you suggest the Mark 2 or Mark 3? I just don understand why many people still buy the Mark 2

    I’ve got a 2019 4Runner and was wondering which polishers you guys would recommend from the Rupes lineup?
    Also do you guys plan on doing any videos specifically regarding single stage paint or is it all pretty much the same process?

    • @RUPES_Behind_the_Scenes

      The best options for a beginner generally are the LHR15 (pick your generation) and the LK900E Gear Driven for full size tools. It really comes down to preference on which one you would choose. The LHR12E Duetto is also popular as a starter tool, but slightly lower performing due to the 12mm orbit. The best thing to do is attend a training or get in contact with an authorized distributor and try a few options to see which you prefer. Everyone is different.
      As far as polishing single stage vs. basecoat-clearcoat - it is the same. Clear coat is paint without pigment so your process is essentially identical, the biggest difference is you can see the residues on a single stage car, but you can't on a clear coat car because... well... clear coat is clear!

      Random orbital tools, with some coaching, are a great option for beginners. If it is for your own personal use and you're looking to test the waters the LHR15ES (first generation) is another great option. Same movement, a little less powerful, at a more economical price point. Either way, you'll want to get some coaching on the proper use of a dual action random orbital tool - especially large orbit so you can get off on the right foot.

    Can you add a side handle like some rotaries have? Is that an option where instead of holding the top you can hold the handle on one side. Thanks

    • @RUPES_Behind_the_Scenes
      @RUPES_Behind_the_Scenes 5 років тому +2

      We do not sell a side handle and I'm not aware of any side handles that are compatible. There may be options out there, but none that we have validated. The reason is that keeping the pad flat to the surface is imperative to proper dual-action random orbital technique - placing your hand off to one side will have a tendency to take the tool off axis and impact performance. It really is best to run the tool without a handle.

    How can this machine out perform a machine with a 900w or 1000w motor. I trust the machine will deliver the results but I am seriously questioning its longevity because £350 is a lot of money for a 500w motor.

      That is the risk with buying any auto-detailing equipment. There are no retail stores, where you can see high-end units in a showroom. Instead, you have to take your chances and buy it, unseen, based upon reviews that you find online.

    Wouldn't ever buy another one ever. I have a mobile Auto Detail business. Bought the rupes mark2 and was super sad with performance. The pads don't last more than one polish on a car they get hot start to tear. Too much hype on this polisher. I also have a torque and well now that is a great polisher no issues there
