This is how I feel about Donna Tartt!! With about a decade in between each book she writes, I'm very aware that I have to wait a long time for new books from her! I still have one more book of hers to go - I'm saving it for a rainy day.
you always manage to bring your own twist to videos, even if you're doing something that has been done a lot! this was a very ariel bookshelf tour and i loved it!!! plus your bookshelves are so cute!
this is one of the only bookshelf tours that has managed to keep my interest all the way through! much more enjoyable than just rapid-fire reading off the titles of hundreds of books lol
I love the idea of rainbow bookshelves but I think your idea of sections > then rainbows is just so nice. The color order is nice enough to be pleasing but the shelves are still eclectic enough to be interesting to look at. I have two short shelves, one for science fiction, and one for fantasy. The tall one has classics, contemporaries, nonfiction, and movies--but I'm running out of space! Eek!
I loveee this ! I love how you only showed some of your favorite copies of novels while also giving us an insight into each shelf’s form of organization. Very cozy! Very cutteee
I've seen heaps and heaps of bookshelf tours and this is my favourite. Your diverse interest in books is so inspiring to me. I've think the reason why I branched out from fiction and explored more nonfiction books is because of you. Thanks for creating such thought-provoking and motivating material!
I feel like I've just been given a hug. I don't know if it's the wholesome bookshelves, your narration or the the whole video. This is the best bookshelf tour video!
This is us a great bookshelf tour. It doesn't take the watcher for granted by explaining every single book, it allows you to pause on the sections you're most interested in, really enjoyable.
UGH this is such a great format for this video!!!!! love how it wasn’t just name after name of books but an insight into ur reading habits and how u grew ur collection
I am really fascinating and amaze of you recording the whole tour of your book shelves. I love how you arrange all literature novels' color covers with the rest of the same on the shelves. It is like Crayonia color writing instruments in the box.
I love the way you organize your bookshelf! It has given me a few ideas... Right now my books are just in a general rainbow but due to lack of space I need to switch it up a bit.
Perhaps a weird compliment, but this was by far the best bookshelf tour I've seen! I love your collection, the meaningful extras and the way you organized everything. The frida wall and the amazing collections of non-fiction and classics are perhaps my favourite! There are also a lot of genres and books I want to dive into more, and as I just discovered your channel (from the goodreads challenge color video, loved it!) I wish I'll very soon find a video where you talk about your favourite graphic novels.
I loved this bookshelf tour! I don't like it when people name every single book they own, so I loved that you gave an overview of each section and talked about the kind of books on it and the non-book items you have on your shelf. Your shelves look great!!
This is the best bookshelf tour I’ve ever seen! I love how you showed us closeups of all your shelves without naming every book on them. I can always pause the video if I want to see specific titles. It was much more interesting to hear you talk about the sections as a whole and your thoughts about different genres. Thanks for always making your videos unique. :)
Thankyou for this is was facinating!!! I used to organise by genre and author, but now I have so many books I am rapidly running out of space and I am having to double stack on most of my shelves. I have a library room, shelves in my lounge, hall, kitchen and bedroom. One day I want floor to ceiling shelves everywhere and I'm sure I will do those. I am a bookseller so I don't see me slowing down any time soon
Ariel wants to know how I organize my bookshelves... Well! I have 3 white shelving units; the Billy bookshelves from IKEA that so many people have. And I have them with an extra shelf added to the top since my ceiling is high. One holds series. The second has classics, non-fiction, and CDs. The third has records/vinyl, music magazines that I still have, CDs (and extra headphones and such), and the books go from children's literature to middle grade to YA to adult. I like it when books are the same height so I will usually put hardcovers together, of course books in a series go together, and books in collections go together. And if a book is not part of a series or collection, usually it's still the same height as other books from that publisher. I really just go with what I think looks good and I guess I'm just not being over-descriptive here. I also have some random things on my shelves, like my Luna Lovegood wand, some music/jewelry boxes, kpop photocards/postcards, a little nutcracker, a few pins (or _badges_ as some call them), and whenever I get a card from a friend or family member for whatever occasion I put it on my shelf for a bit. Oh, I also have a handful of Funko Pops, most of which are Twin Peaks characters, but I also have Harry and Luna from HP and Brian from The Breakfast Club. And I have Christmas lights around my bookshelves which can be a cream color or colorful, OR they can change between those two color settings.
I loved how you took us through your categorization system because for me it is so satisfying and interesting to see how others organize their books I loved getting a closer look at your graphic novels and poetry books. Thanks for sharing 😊❤️📚
This was so much more entertaining and fun to watch than “naming” your books. I’ve been trying to find an useful bookshelf tour for ages! This was perfect and so so helpful! I dislike the organization of my shelves and I am terrible at having ideas for categories and I loved yours!
Me and bae live together in a tiny flat with like 0 storage so we share shelves; they're full to the brim with 70% his books and 30% mine... (protip Kallax Ikea shelves are fantastic, they're 3 paperback books deep, I can get about 100 in one little box, but also if you're extra they're great for displaying knick knacks too) Our dream house will have a library/study with one of those shelves with a slidy ladder and I honestly can't wait for that day 😍
The middle section is my favourite. It looks so comfy. I like George Orwell too! Can you please show the books on writing or do a video on them. Thanks x
i absolutely loved this video, ariel. it was so calming and beautiful. now i’m daydreaming about the bookshelves i want to have one day :,) the video and your style of organization really showcases your personality; i feel like i now have a better understanding of how your mind works, like looking through a window into your brain. i appreciate it so much.
The Catcher in the Rye, Savannah Brown, Twilight.. ♥️ love your books and how you’ve organized them! So beautiful and I love how you’ve decorated your walls. So cool.
I loved this! You have such an interesting way of organising your shelves. I'm tempted to completely abandon my A-Z ordering and make lots of little sub-categories on my own shelves. I especially love the George Orwell section 😍 Those Penguin editions have such pretty spines when lined up together.
I love your sense of humour 😄 I've got 3 main bookcases, which used to be alphabetical (seperated by unread and read and nonfiction), then rainbow (all mixed together), but now they're kind of grouped like yours. I've grouped my read books together, my classics together, nonfiction together, and then my unread fiction is vaguely sorted from most to least interested to read. I had been cleaning out my book collection, and freeing myself from the burden of books I would never get to, and this was just the result of that.
Bookshelf tours are usually SO boring... this was so much fun! I love how you did this! The editing was amazing. I really appreciate all the work you put into this!
Just realized how it's actually quite funny that you love "Wild We Roam" as well since you two are pretty much the only channels where I watch every single video without skipping forward
What a beautiful video! Thanks Ariel for sharing your bookshelves with us! I like to organize me books from the taller to the shorter! And I put books from the same author together, and the true stories too! 📚📚📚📚
Just watched this and discovered that other people haven't actually read all the books they own!!! I love buying books second hand and bc they're so cheap I get so many that my TBR pile is massive! My bf found out how many I hadn't read (about 100 at this stage) and gave me a lot of smack for it, this is reassuring!!
I absolutely loved watching this!!! My bookshelves aren't nearly as beautiful as these, but I also organize by color for my books in one room and by height in another room! One day when all my books are in the same room maybe it'll look more cohesive lol.
I love your bookshelf organization. I was ready to write I have no system but I realized I actually do. First big distinction is keeping my books in English and the ones in Czech separate. The rest is bit of a mess but I keep the non-fiction and fiction books apart in both languages. I have the big editions separate from most of the other books but the shelf is now overflowing due to my liking Penguin Modern Classics too much :D The rest is roughly organized by the genre, but since I have way to many books for so small shelf space, sometimes I just try to fit anything in the bookcases I have. Every time I watch someone's bookshelf tour, I feel like I need to reorganize. So I guess I'll do that by the end of the year.
Your video style is one of my favorite things on the internet right now. Literally every time you upload I get so excited because I know it’s gonna be amazing!!!
Loved the video! I love how your bookshelves and their organisation aren't necessarily too symmetrical or perfect but they manage to look amamazing!! Love the colours and your different approach of the video! I literally came here for somw inspiration to organise my bookshelves because I'm stuck and I think I got it, thank you!💕💐✨
My bookshelves used to be organized in a rainbow, but when I moved to graduate school - across the country - I left most of them at my parents house and only brought a cross section of my tbr and my most favorite. So now, I have a single 3 shelf bookshelf which has a rather vague organization scheme primarily by subject, but sometimes by whether or not I've read it... But only sometimes, haha
i'm literally sitting in the same chair as we SPEAK, only mine is grey, i was very tempted to buy the blue one but i'm a true no-color gal, the blue looks beautiful in your space!!! long live our incredible IKEA chairs!! the comfiest reading spots in the world!!!!!!
This was such an interesting way to film and discuss your books /bookshelves! I love the way you've organized everything! I'm definitely going to take some inspiration from you when I re organize my shelves ❤️
omg i remember watching ur old bookshelf tour back in 2011/2012 (???) and thats when i started watching you but u deleted it. man the memories of seeing your fav books again. i feel so old now
Orwell is my favourite author too. Keep the Aspidistra Flying is my favourite book of his. I'm getting his portrait tattooed on my calf next year hopefully.
I loved this video and loved the editing style! I really enjoyed your voiceover talking about the various items on your shelves and how it's organized and the meaning behind that rather than just showing us every single book on your shelf. I thought the sneak peek at all the things behind your shelves were hilarious! My bookshelf is my vanity as well because where it is has way better lighting than my bathroom. lol
I loved watching this! You have such an interesting collection of books, and it made me think about my collection as well, and the breakdown of the different genres and what I tend to lean towards or away from.
That was such a fun way to do a bookshelf tour? I really like how you don't have the billy bookshelves and you have different shelves to most people on booktube. They seem really fun and I think that I might get some like that soon!
i have three skinny bookshelves dedicated to Tolkien/Tolkien related books, classics and history books! alot of my history books are from early-mid 20th century so they look like a really nice old library collection together! my oldest book is a collection of shakespeares histories from 1905!
wow i loved this! It's so interesting to see what someone (especially a booktuber) considers their favourite books, I think it really says a lot about that person. This video gave me so much inspo for my bookshelf - hopefully i have enough covers of each colour to organise it that way!
You really encouraged me to read eclectic books! I organize them by favorites and by the fact that my bookshelf is too small! Most of them are under my bed or in the cabinet under my desk. Lol
I love the idea of considering "fastest growth" - it's probably victorian classics and nonfiction. I already had more classics but definitely they are growing faster than I read them. I had very little nonfiction and now I love getting them - but I also have been bad at reading them haha. I like how you've organized it! It's unique and varied depending on the category!
I loved this... hearing the thought process behind your organization was super interesting! It would be awesome if you did a video with some of your favorites from each section (I know you've done similar ones in the past, but I'm always down for some more recommendations!)
I want to rearrange my shelves now lol mine have fiction in the top shelves organized a-z of authors surnames and below that is my nonfiction organized the same. I also have books relating to my degree, textbooks and what not, on the shelves by my desk which are otherwise filled with stuff ^_^ but you've given me ideas for more exciting organisation!
I don't really have alot of rhyme or reason to my shelf organization. I keep series together obviously (but perhaps not to some people). And sometimes I'll keep authors together but not typically. I also don't color coordinate anything or do any type of rainbow design. I take alot of time when I'm organizing my book shelves to determine where each book should go and sometimes it doesn't make sense, but it feels right to place a book here, or stack a book there. I feel like the books know where they need to be on my shelves and I try to reflect on that as I place them.
Loved this bookshelf tour, it was so beautifully filmed! I organize my shelves by language, and then by genre. I have lots of books in norwegian, but even more books in english, so I tend to not want to mix them. So for example I have a norwegian fantasy shelf and an english fantasy shelf.
I've always loved your shelves in every form they've been in! you have such a diverse taste in books. I loved seeing Vincent again, the book you bought when we went to the American Book Center together!
I would love a poetry recommendations video, I've always loved poetry but never know what to buy when I'm actually in the bookstore looking for it, especially when it comes to newer collections.
I kept my zines in a small "magazine holder" that I made out of a box. It let me keep them together and could also work like one of your section separators.
I currently don’t have a bookshelf, as I don’t have the space in my bedroom, curses of living in a small home with your parents, and have no plans of getting one until I have my own, more permanent space. For now, I have the stacks. Stacks behind my closet doors, stacks on my desk, my nightstand, a stack under my tiny TV stand, all a hodgepodge of vertical and horizontal, squirreled away or teetering high.
I love how you're not just naming all the books you own, this is much more interesting to watch!
Our girl really said "2020! I can't wait!"
hahahaha
..
that statement did not age well
😂😂
i think we should be focused on the fact that she said "rona". an true seer.
“Im very aware that the guy is dead...no need to rush” lmfao
DON'T WANNA RUN OUT!!
I feel this way with Kurt Vonnegut ha
I think the same about Tolkien's books, but oh wait, seems like he can still write from the undead's realm.
This is how I feel about Donna Tartt!! With about a decade in between each book she writes, I'm very aware that I have to wait a long time for new books from her! I still have one more book of hers to go - I'm saving it for a rainy day.
you always manage to bring your own twist to videos, even if you're doing something that has been done a lot! this was a very ariel bookshelf tour and i loved it!!! plus your bookshelves are so cute!
thanks so much!! i tried to make it the best i could!
It is so organized. I love it. The Frida shelves are so beautiful
I've seen a lot of other booktubers' bookshelves tour but yours ummm yours is just so satisfying 💓
♥️
Such a beautiful collection!
this is one of the only bookshelf tours that has managed to keep my interest all the way through! much more enjoyable than just rapid-fire reading off the titles of hundreds of books lol
This was filmed so beautifully! Really interesting to watch ☺️
thank you so so much!! I really wanted to do a good job for you all!
you have the best taste of anyone i’ve ever seen
I love the idea of rainbow bookshelves but I think your idea of sections > then rainbows is just so nice. This was one of the best bookshelf tours ever.
(Also, when that book fell over, I tried grabbing it and knocked on the screen hard. Instincts. 🤣)
love that i’m not the only person with a witch-specific area on my book case 😂
This is us a great bookshelf tour. It doesn't take the watcher for granted by explaining every single book, it allows you to pause on the sections you're most interested in, really enjoyable.
This is absolutely the nicest bookshelf tour I have ever watched! So lovely to hear all your thoughts and explanations about the different sections
it's the best bookshelf tour I've ever seen 🥺❤
where did you get your wall art/postcards? they look great! and of course, you have shelves that dreams are made of
bookishfawn I’ve collected them over the years from gift shops in art museums!
It is like Crayonia color writing instruments in the box.

when you showed your favourite book section i was like 'but ariel where's animal farm??? what's changed???'
two seconds later: ahA!
Loved that you told us what some of the books means to you. Always found your bookshelf pretty to look at but now they are even more beautiful 😍
🖤My favorite type of book tour. Not an inventory, Just a beautiful gist of everything you have. 🖤
Thankyou for this is was facinating!!! I used to organise by genre and author, but now I have so many books I am rapidly running out of space and I am having to double stack on most of my shelves. Genius way of displaying origami!! 🤠

Can't wait for your zines display video!
I love your sense of humour 😄

Best shelf tour I've seen!
This is definitely the best bookshelf tour video I've ever seen!!! 😍😍😍😍
Also, lovely collection 🥰
THIS INTRO - GORGEOUS. 😍
This was so beautiful & I love your chair!
I absolutely loved watching this!!! My bookshelves aren't nearly as beautiful as these, but I also organize by color for my books in one room and by height in another room! One day when all my books are in the same room maybe it'll look more cohesive lol.
ALL BOOKSHELVES ARE BEAUTIFUL
I love how your shelf has a personal touch, it feels so Ariel Bissett. ❤️❤️❤️ Love this video!
ariel, apart from being a generally interesting and cute gal and artist, you are an amazing CINEMATOGRAPHER 💕🌿✨

Lovely! I arrange mine similar to you. First roughly by genre, and then grouped by height.
I love the way you edited this *chefs kiss*
This is the best book shelf tour ever. Thanks
Orwell is my favourite author too. Keep the Aspidistra Flying is my favourite book of his. I'm getting his portrait tattooed on my calf next year hopefully.
This is a bookshelf tour that I never knew I needed but one that I have been waiting for
I loved this video and loved the editing style! I really enjoyed your voiceover talking about the various items on your shelves and how it's organized and the meaning behind that rather than just showing us every single book on your shelf. I thought the sneak peek at all the things behind your shelves were hilarious! My bookshelf is my vanity as well because where it is has way better lighting than my bathroom. lol
LOVE this. Made me remember how much I adore books. For the zines, I keep mine as book separators in cool magazine holders. works well 😌
this is just beautiful. i love the aesthetics in your room, all art-related stuff, it all fits in and makes sense. thank you for this video! :)
Really love your categorising! I'm staring at my bookcase at all my mixed in books and inspired to start categorising...
I loved watching this! You have such an interesting collection of books, and it made me think about my collection as well, and the breakdown of the different genres and what I tend to lean towards or away from.
A bookshelf AND a vanity? A versatile queen!

I loved seeing Vincent again, the book you bought when we went to the American Book Center together!
omg yes! the memories!
This is honestly the best and most interesting bookshelf tour I’ve ever seen.
I love your organization to your shelves. This video was so fun
I would love a poetry recommendations video, I've always loved poetry but never know what to buy when I'm actually in the bookstore looking for it, especially when it comes to newer collections.
This is so aesthetic and I love it! The work put into it shows.
I kept my zines in a small "magazine holder" that I made out of a box. It let me keep them together and could also work like one of your section separators.
I just don't get how I fall in love with every single video you make.
I want a comfy chair like this! :) Thank you for sharing!
Ohhhhh, I love this! 😍😍it is so organized!
Yeah my husband worked at Jysk briefly and was told it is pronounced like "yisk."
