In comparing the 1RS and LT side by side, you'll see many key differences in terms of styling, features, and options. In addition to the items mentioned in this video, you cannot get the following on the 1RS (but are available on the LT, 2RS, and Activ):
    - Adaptive Cruise
    - Wireless Charging
    - Certain Exterior Colors
Let me know what you think of the 2024 Chevy Trax down in the comments and which one you would choose and why?

We love our LT model, its such a incredible interior and the ride is really good, we had a 2017 encore before and you cant compare them at all, the trax blows the encore out of the water in every way possible. Now the reliability will be a thing to see.. But so far for what we paid for this after trade in, i cannot complain.

Korean cars are actually pretty good. I am looking at the Trax but have had Hyundai's since 2005 and they have been great. No problems other than natural wear and tear in any of the cars that I have had. My current Accent has 250,000 km on it and runs great. The fact that the Trax is built in Korea actually gives me some confidence in it.

Excellent presentation. I’ll be watching a lot more of your videos. One thing I like is that you don’t have music in the background competing with your monologue. Why so many others do is a mystery to me. And one suggestion, please include fuel tank capacity along with estimated mpg, if available. This way we can compute highway range. I absolutely hate having to stop for gas on a trip, and highway range could be a tie breaker for me when buying a car.

I love the LT looks with that color and wheels -- very sharp. I wish the 1RS had a version the LT wheels in a larger diameter, they just have incredible detail.
The 1RS just looks sportier without the roof rails, more sport hatchback than crossover.
I'm in the market for a Trax and it's a tough decision of which trim I really want. I'd love the keyless features for doors and starter, but I also like the simplicity of having regular old school gauges. I'd like the better audio and sharper seating materials of the 2RS/Active, but I also not fond of the piano black interior trim and don't want to spend the extra money when buying the 1RS gets me the features I already have in my current vehicle and leaves me room to opt for the sunroof if I choose.

Thank you for the comparison. The 1RS is my choice as I prefer the manual A/C & heating, analog dash and key start. Is it absolutely ideal? No, I’d like a power liftgate which is used in the Asian market and an interior choice other than black. My current vehicle has push button start, remote start two zone automatic climate control and adaptive cruise control. I am never comfortable and find myself overriding the blower specially. The push button start is nothing but a gimmick and since I park in my garage I never use the remote start. A lot of the car buying public don't take any interest in the details of the mechanicals of vehicles they buy and only base their purchase on how cool it looks on the outside or interior electronic gizmos , that's fine if you leasing it, but if a person planned on keeping the Trax for many years there are things that are a little concerning to me, for one thing its GM a company not known for high quality teaming up with Daewoo a Korean car company that along with Hyundai, Kia, are plagued with chronic quality issues like motors burning oil ,engine fires, or catastrophic failure, Then it has a underpowered 3 cylinder engine in a large vehicle that will have to work harder to move it and a turbo charger that adds even more stress to the internals of the engine , it also uses a timing belt rather than a timing chain which means the belt will need changed around 100.000 miles and this usually costs over 1000 dollars for a shop or dealer to do it , while a timing chain seldom needs changed until mileage is really high, another is this is a first year redesign for this model and probably has other issues that need worked out , Right now people are in love with the price, but like they say cheap for a reason, just like when the Fiat 500 first came out everybody wanted one because it was cool looking and fun to drive until a year or two later
when word got out of all the mechanical , electrical issues and poor build quality became apparent with leaks around the windows and so on

Exactly. That's my concern with the Trax. That new car luster wears off eventually and if it's poorly engineered, you're stuck with a junky car you regret having bought. Between this engine having a timing belt and also a turbo, it's going to be a pricy engine to keep running after 100k miles compared to others with no turbo and a timing chain.

For example their is a fire station I think in New Jersey they have a light bulb that is over 100 years old and never has quit working because is was made very good and people with that light bulb working so well people didn't need to go buy light bulbs all the time. In short the lights bulbs are meant to go out on purpose so you go buy more light bulbs.

    • @palebeachbum

The trim levels from lowest price to highest price are as follows: LS, 1RS, LT, 2RS, Active. The LS and 1RS have the same equipment, but the 1RS adds the RS appearance package. The LT and 2RS have the same equipment, but the 2RS includes the RS appearance package. Active is the top trim and has its own unique front fascia and leatherette upholstery. It's priced the same as the 2RS. I hope this helps.

I'm curious why you keep mispronouncing two of the most common words in the English language. The letter "a"
is pronounced "aye", but as a WORD, it's pronounced "uh", not "aye". The word "the" is pronounced "thuh", not
"thee" (unless it's followed by a vowel sound). Saying "aye" and "thee" every time doesn't sound natural, it sounds robotic.

So first off, with snow tires fwd is more than enough to get through anything. Awd is basically useless in a car like this, you're not going off road I'm this thing and if you do you bought the wrong car. You're just one of those people who get scammed by automakers into thinking you need awd when people have done without it with no problem till the last ten years. Based on the fact you have a last gen Trax, I know for a fact the car has never left the roads and the worse its ever seen was a maintained gravel road, go have fun when some kid in a shitbox with proper tires leaved you in the dust when it snows more then an inch, and if you live in an area that doesn't get snow you really wasted the 1-2k it cost additional for awd since it's not like awd helps with driving outside of getting going from a stop.
