After their Divinity Original Sin games, i cant say im surprised to be honest. Theyve had this insane player first standard that AAA studios could never live up to. I remember Obsidian Studios did this too with POE2
Didnt expect them to introduce hexblade since they modified pact of the blade to act as the hexblade subclass. Im happy though, my first dnd character was a hexblade tiefling
Good morning everyone, just passing by expressing gratitude to Mort for his outstanding work ethic and Larian for defying each and every standard AAAs have set in the last decade. Have your UA-cam jazz 🎶 and may you all wander in wisdom.
I've seen people who are disappointed with Hexblade, and I dunno, I'm glad for it. And Larian will be expanding the modding tools more so chances are the other subclasses can be added later. I do wish Monk of the Astral Self was added instead of the Drunken Master, hopefully someone will add the JoJo subclass later on.
@@suzanner8360I already did two huge 70 hour runs, one normal and one honour mode and I think I only have like half the achievements 😅, need to do a few play more throughs I think, I'll wait for this to do cross play
One of my favorite irl D&D characters I've made so far is a multiclass rogue Arcane Trickster / Wizard Bladesinger for a short campaign a friend of mine has written. I'm really excited that I'll be able to create her in BG3 and do a playthrough with her 🤩
I'm getting the feeling that the new subclasses will in most cases be the strongest of them all, no question... If they are implemented according to how Mort described.
I'm not sure, in my honour mode run the fire sorcerer and sword bard were so powerful I felt I could've finished the game with just them two, if they make stuff more powerful than this then they need a harder difficulty option 😂
Im so excited for this because I have a dnd character who is a way of mercy monk and he might start multiclassing into death domain cleric and this will help me create him in BDG3 and figure out how to make him actually powerful lolll
Ah, more Bard power to play with. Not a subclass I play normally, and it will have to try had to outdo a College of Swords with Twin Hand Crossbows(Which, interestingly, WAS my weapons of choice in the actual table top in high school). Seriously, hitting the same target, four times, with one attack action, then buffing the damage of each hit, by just being awesome, is an amazing ability.
I've been dragging my feet on actually getting deep into the game because I want to play it at it's most complete. If this is actually the final update it might be time, but I feel like they've said this before. Can't get mad at free stuff though! Hope your family had a good holiday!
I think someone pointed out that these have been popular mods for the game but it's nice to be able to achievement hunt with fun classes. Thinking about duergar giant barbarian for huge size. Assuming the racial spell stacks.
It is insane that this content is free. It is also very sad as it shows the state of the industry. And if anyone says that these subclasses are based on mods, there are companies like Paradox that repack mods and sell them as DLCs, so it's still kudos to Larian for their stance.
I loved bg3 pre release. I had massive fun after release. I had great fun with friends. And like everyone I know we all quit during act 3, coming out of act 2 it loses all momentum and kills the vibe. Having said anything negative about bg3 people will now treat me worse than a war criminal.
I just finished BG3 for the first time. 148 hours of stumbling around and probably not doing things right (for example, I've heard people talk about a companion called Gale, who I never encountered.) Fun time for the most part. A couple of puzzles made me want to shoot people, though.
Its 4am and for some reason I'm still up... I need to go to sleep... holy shit new Mortismal BG3 video about Patch 8!! *Watches in excitement and tiredness after a long night of DM'ing*
Tbh instead of all of those patches they should deliver dlc at this point. I know they said "production of bg3 make them worn out" so why they are coming with more and more patches it doesn't make sense.
Adding spells and some balnacing is a lot different than adding a lot of new assets, voice acted dialogue, animation.. etc. I want the dlc but fine with it not happening but that's besides the point
Well call me greedy, but even if I'm excited about new classes, I don't see a reason to play the game i played 200+h one more time. Though I'd play it again if there will be a new content in the form of new enemies and locations to explore...
I had my first run with the Ranger, shame it got some insect/bug subclass while the warrior got Arcane Archer :( What they could do is to add new class, like Artificer.
And remember everybody that every single post launch update for this game has been FREE. 😢 I’m crying from happiness!
Other companies - "Get used to not owning your subclasses"
@ Bethesda would charge $20-$30 per subclass.
@@Duckman8213 Oh yeah, every single subclass would be a creation club update.
A reminder?l it just happened
Larian. The gift that keeps on giving. Utter insanity and I adore them for it.
They’re like the opposite of herpes.
The year is 2035. Larian has announced patch 40 will be BG3's final patch, but we all know they will be back in 6 months with another patch.
Terraria's final update(s) also dropped twice during that year.
Nah they about to give us a new game in about 3 more years 😊

they are infamous for their third acts being half baked
@swagmomite7177 that too lol. Still way better than what most of the bigger studios have been putting out in the past decade
@@swagmomite7177Pfft more like CRPGs as a genre.
@@swagmomite7177 in retrospect that seems kinda common with final acts in crpgs and similar stuff. Not just Larian but Owlcat as well.

Baldur's Gate 3 is the gift that keeps giving honestly!
Larian and Swen have earned my patronage for life.

ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA
Already sat for your build videos regarding these new subclasses!
Cant wait to finally play this game one day. I played chapter 1 at a friends place, it was phenomenal
Just as I started another run. Oh well, guess I'll have to play again next year. What a shame... /s
lol me too. My first time multi-classing, and using mods for any game.

Man, I love that they're providing such good updates!
Just when i thought i was out, they pull me back in
This would have been a 30$ DLC nobody would have been shocked.
It's a free update.
Thanks, Larian. We love you.

Hexblade Warlock, Death Cleric, Swarm Ranger, and Throwing Barb all sound fun.
Might be time to finally attempt my Honor Mode run after this drops.
i wanted hexblade at launch so will be happy to have in the game officially without mods

Patch 8 bg3, patch 1.3 RT, just bought WOTR; good day to be alive
Love this game, hopefully one day i'll finish it!
Bladesinger... finaly, I can start playing this game! Hope they add green flame blade & booming blade for all gish builds!

Should have also added Artificer Class along with these. I'll take what I can get though. Much love and respect.
Hah! Funny that you and I share the exact same class to be excited about. Hexblade. I played one in our last campaign that my son ran for us.

Been sitting in Our Steam library with about 20 minutes played since launch. Our strategy is paying off. Chad Larian.
I feel like almost any other company would have sold each of these for a few bucks a piece. Extremely common Larian W
Damnit Larian! If you keep adding new content, I have to restart the game to experience everything all over again!
I know it's probably out of scope for a free update but I would love to see artificer added someday.
Awesome stuf. Larian rocks.
Thanks a lot for the info about this FREE update!
WHAT???? Time for 20 new playthroughs it seems
Most companies would charge 4.99 a pop for those subclasses. Larian is unrivaled in modern gaming, it's honestly kinda ridiculous.
Unbelievable. Every other developer take fucking notes.

Subclass UA-cam Jazz 🎶
Ring of flinging
The ring that heals you each turn
Kaghas necklace

time to change class for the 100th time
TGA announces that Patch 8 is eligible for Game of the Year in 2025!
Nice. I was just coming back
They should add all the classes from PWoTR
Wooo hexblade
Will hexblade make pact of the blade obsolete?
I know Larian isn't allowed to make expansion for this game anymore, but I wish they would just do it :(
The lack of a Shepard druid is disappointing but that is what mods are for. I will get my unstoppable raptor swarm sooner or later.
It is nice that every single druid plays completely differerent. Obviously all can’t be included but I think they did a good job with the 4 chosen
I do not mind if there is nothing to watch. I can imagine I would subscribe as well if you decide to do a podcast about games. 👍

Thanks for the video. This is good and all, but BG3 could definitely use more cowbell. Onward to 400k. All glory to the algorithm.

At this point I would be willing to buy DLC just to give them money. It could literally have nothing in it.
Just buy the game again and don't use it if you really mean that.
