    Flight sim just came out on xbox and I've always wanted to fly a 747 in a sim! I am a student pilot and am aspiring to be a 747 pilot irl. Its very cool to be able to fly this in a sim. Vid was very helpful, without you I would be clueless lmao. Great vid, earned a like a sub.

    One small suggestion or request for these type of "control panel" videos:
    Turn on the panel lights so they aren't so dark and sillhueted against the bright windscreen. Or fly in the opposite direction of the sun.

    This is similar to the autopilot in the Beechcraft King Air 350, good lesson. I couldn't figure out why it would not seek an altitude without setting a vertical speed first.

    Hey great video, I wanted to ask how could I make the aircraft follow my flight plan. I dont know if you said this in the video already so maybe I missed it.

  • @B3burner
    @B3burner 3 роки тому

    I had the F/D turned on at the same time as the auto pilot which was at the same time as the auto throttle. Was that my big mistake, and why the plane wouldn't take to my auto pilot settings at all?
    EDIT-- Never mind. I hadn't watched the whole thing at the time I asked that. Not only is this weird for the Airbus people, but this is different from the FS9 B737-400 as well. I was always used to the green lights meaning that the function is "ON" and can be switched by turning that knobs at that exact point. Not that it was on "HOLD" and you had to undo the "HOLD" to make changes.

  • @B3burner
    @B3burner 3 роки тому +2

    Ok, just tried a flight after taking careful notes from your video. Everything was fine, until I wanted to increase air speed with my locked altitude already in place. When I raised air speed from 200 (like in your video), to 230, it ignored the altitude hold at 5,000' and started increasing altitude.
    How do I tell the auto pilot to increase speed without increasing altitude? It basically ignored the hold command entirely. Once I entered this problem, I began cyclical porposing of the aircraft, as I struggled with too high too low, etc. The only thing I could set and forget was the heading. That never presented any further problems.
    Also just noticed that I never lifted the flaps back up after takeoff. Could that also explain some problems? I was so hell bent on raising the gear and hitting the auto pilot switch, that I didn't think about the flaps.

    • @Decivye

    Via another video (and possibly included in this one and I've not gotten to it yet) the main thing I needed to be told was to ensure the pink marker for V/S in displayed. Requires 2 clicks many times. Now that I know this it flies more or less how I expect. =D

      It’s because you’re at high altitude, if you check your groundspeed it’ll be around 450 knots. Don’t know how to explain it, I’ll leave that to the pros

    • @sagasa456
      @sagasa456 3 роки тому +3

      Has to do with how the speed is measured (basically a tube in the airstream outside the fuselage). The thinner air lets the aircraft „feel“ a speed less than its real ground speed. This is your indicated airspeed.

    Please help. When I take off with a 747 without setting anything on the autopilot I lose all control over my thrust. The plane sets it to 80 percent and I don't know how to override it. And when I landed again after somehow forcing the plane to set the throttle to 0, it pushes the engines to max thrust so it is literally impossible to land. WHAT IS HAPPENING?
