    Don't be to hard to your self. The whole video is so interesting, so helpful, so full of all the good stuff how to fly an aircraft like this. Thrust me if I say it is much more than only 90 percent enjoyment. I am sure the next time you will show us the best, the coolest and maybe the most interesting landing with the 747 of all time.

    This is a great video, shows you all of the detail you need to properly fly this puppy. There are so many videos where the creator has no commentary, which for my money are useless, so this is excellent. Re the landing being lost, that's computers for you, but realty is, everything was set, so nothing substantial was lost!

    Just moving from A32NX to the B747 and this tutorial was wonderful. Main reason to get to the B747 is to actually fly at speed and distance to get amazing views of journeying over the planet.

    Very nicely done video. With regards to Cost Index, I'd go a step further in explaining that CI is used in quantifying a ratio between fuel cost and personnel cost. Cabin crew are paid for block time, meaning that their time "on the clock" begins when the blocks are removed from the aircraft's wheels. Their time on the clock ends once blocks are placed back under the wheels (normally in a new city). I.E. the longer a plane is flying, the higher the personnel cost. Depending on how many cabin crew members are on the flight and what they are paid, each company can then choose what ratio of personnel cost vs fuel cost they want to use for any particular flight to minimize overall cost (fuel + personnel), because as noted, longer flights cost more in personnel but flying faster increases cost in fuel. Cost Indexing allows them to optimize each flight's cost.

Please can you guide me to get it working? It is probably me doing something wrong, but I have tried and tried and can't work it out. Love the video.

    I have an idea. I suggest supplementing the manual with all the necessary procedures performed by real pilots in real life. Some procedures will be irrelevant at the moment because the command buttons are not working yet. But once they work, it will be a comprehensive guide. I mean both manuals, for A320 and B747. Regards. Robert

    Good video guide. Really wish I could afford to purchase the guide. Unfortunately, I'm physically disabled, have had 4 surgeries already and having another Tuesday. I do wood carving and spent 6 months saving up just to buy the full game (still wondering why I spent $120 on this incomplete sim). Heck, I have a potato computer and keep getting a warning that my computer doesn't meet specs but still lets me fly. LOL. But I can tell you put a ton of work into your video and guides. Maybe if I sell a few more carvings I'll go ahead and purchase them. Your videos are very well done and I understand the frustration when recording corruption happens. I use OBS studio (free) to record lesser demanding games (well, used to). I dunno.. maybe Nividia is being taxed too much with everything else MSFS demands? Anyway, just wanted to let you know your hard work is appreciated. PS - I grew up in Arizona.. an even hotter part than Tucson - Bullhead City. I kid you not, it reached 132 degrees quite a few times and 115 was the average during summer peaking to 120+. I sure do miss the monsoon season though. Nothing like the beauty of the skies and the smell of desert rain. I apprenticed at a local airport for a while (Needles, CA) as a kid. Loved being around aircraft all my life. Now I can't even drive (thanks vision and epilepsy!!!). Somehow I ended up in Idaho only a couple hours from Yellowstone. Beautiful country here for bush flying. Anyway, I'm too long winded. Keep the great content going and thanks again for all the work you do for the community!!!!!

  • @wikstrom777
    @wikstrom777 2 роки тому

    Very informative, Mike, but a few pointers:
    The Boeing way is EICAS, pronounced "eye-cass".
    Also, the procedure of setting the Baro minima for the single-engine acceleration height doesn't make sense. Baro implies altitude above MSL, so setting it at, for example, 1000 ft in KTUS, you're already way above that altitude before taking off. I'm not very familiar with the B747, but I am with the B777, and the minimas are never implemented for departure.
    And when you're below UP speed you have to start extending the flaps as required. UP is the minimum clean speed.
    Keep up the good work and enthusiasm!

    Great guide, im sure it well help me a bit, i have been battling with the AP on this for a while with it often causing me to eat $#1t! I will give it a go tonight and see if i can have some more success, i do enjoy flying this much more than the 320 which i find boring. On the crashing, i was having some issues even after thoroughly testing my (current high end) system with 4k stress tests and the two main t hings im sure have mostly (if not entirely at least on build at time of posting) stopped the ctd's were setting the maximum performance in windows and Nvidia cp, really seems if either of these are not set this sim likes to crash. I have things like game mode and recording disabled as well. 5900x,32gbram and a 3080tiand run it on ultra in vr.

    Hello, very nice video. Very simple and clear explanation. I have a question. On A320 fbw (I fly almost exlusively this aircraft and almost always in IVAO), ATC can give you a direct and that happens almost always after takeoff or on approach. In the A320 FMC it is very simple to order the aircraft to go to the point indicated by the controller, but how is it done in the 747?

It just increased its V/S and literally went into a dive. I made sure the AP was on and it was, i made sure the VNAV wasn’t on and it wasn’t. the PDF was showing me that V/S speed was engaged and the plane should be following what i was telling it. It didn’t quite and just went into a dive into the mountains. I really don’t know if this is a bug but i don’t think the AP would crash the plane would it?
