Thanx so so much for sharing this little gem! That was a hoot. My dad and I loved hearing about silly laws, mostly through the There Oughta Be a Law comic strip, and Readers Digest articles, so this bit was a goodie. It was great to see Howard Duff again. I fell in love with him through his voice on old radio shows, and seeing him in movies, and with the lovely Ida on tv in Mr. Adams and Eve. Oh, that man had such dreamy eyes.
that was hysterical- bill cullen leaving before the show was over. you could tell that the panel was not happy with the way garry handled the secret. thanks for posting. a real odd one.
One had nothing to do with the other, though. They clearly knew Bill was going to do that. I also don't think that they were unhappy with Garry, other than Betsy who just wasn't paying attention to the actual answers he was giving them.
Ida was so beautiful and a great actress. luved her appearances on the Lucy Desi Comedy hour and the Twilight Zone. Women's Prison she played an evil warden
Nice to see that Garry got over what the panel put him through the previous week. They got revenge on what he put the panel through in 1956, so they brought his office furniture on stage, they auctioned off his suit, they sent him to the Birdland club to play drums for Count Basie, and sent him there in a crate on the back of a pickup truck.
I wondered how Bette and Ida got along at Warner. She was the same caliber of actress as Bette, tough as Bette. She sometimes had to take Bette's hand me down. Did Bette feel threaten by Ida? Did Bette feud with Ida too? I would have loved to see Ida as Blanche in Baby Jane.
I love Ida Lupino so much :)
I enjoyed that so much. Thanks for posting. I love Ida Lupino!
There's *nobody* like Ida Lupino!

I remember their show "Adam & Eve" I use to watch it back then..
"Mr. Adams and Eve". One of my big favorites as a kid. I've found a few episodes here on UA-cam.
09:16 "But you're not answering any questions! You're just repeating my questions!"Tengan cuidado. Mrs Voorhees was starting to lose it there.
True. That's about as frustrated as she ever got.
She was also wrong. He was answering their questions as he said, after they performed the action. She wasn't paying attention.
Good looking couple!
Hahaha this was a good one!
